I’m getting into mugenbine again, got a big lot of em off of zenmarket recently. I’m really excited! On a more serious front I’m still doing my work assessment and that’s going pretty okay. Also have been keeping up decently with my comp sci course after falling behind for a bit.

How are all of you? What’s been going on in your lives?

First, it's great to hear that you're staying on top of your coursework! As someone who did terribly in school, I'm always envious of those who can stick with it.

My day's been pretty random. Some Den-O, some work-from-home, some cleaning, some collaborative projects, some reading. Not a really dynamic day or anything, but some fun stuff. Next is dinner (whenever it shows up) and then I'll maybe try out that Snyder Cut and see if it's possible for me to watch the whole thing.

Well, an update to my computer made it unable to use wifi anymore, but otherwise, I'm doing pretty good. I don't have The Virus anymore, which is nice. Other than that, I don't really have anything going on right now. Besides college, I guess.

To be honest, I'm only taking one class right now because doing anything more would be really hard for me. I'm still hoping that if I keep trying I'll be able to do two or three by this time next year ish.

I'm glad you're feeling better. How's college going? you feeling alright?

Nothing much, catching up to all of the shows that have been pouring out, like Anime, and the Kamen Rider episodes they've been putting up on YouTube, some more digital art practice, brainstorming ideas, and playing Final Fantasy XIV and Monster Hunter Rise. All while trying to deal with return of allergy season, and roasting in the night. All in all, just an ordinary day.

So, when someone asks us at the store how a book is, we never like to say something's bad. Art's subjective, and something not working is often just as subjective. (Good things just get praised straight up, OH MY GOD YOU'VE GOT TO READ THIS, that sort of thing. It's maybe a double-standard!) Maybe a book is in a genre you don't like. Maybe you didn't get a heads-up about some important element ahead of time and it threw you for a loop. Maybe you just read it in a bad mood. Whatever. So we don't like saying something's bad; instead, we say It Wasn't For Me.

The Snyder Cut isn't for me.

I've only done the first part so far, and I'm sure I'll get to the rest soon enough, but I needed to stop watching it for tonight. It's just about zero percent what I like about movies, comics, comic movies, DC characters, these actors, etc. The design document is just the word Mythic in a 72-point font. It's unrelentingly somber; every color desaturated, every musical cue mournful, grey skies as far as the eye can see. Everyone's sad, all the time.

But, like, working as intended. It's a movie that opens with Superman dying painfully for about five straight minutes, so it is not being coy about its intentions. I feel like everyone in the world who's seen Batman Vs Superman already knows if they're going to like the Snyder Cut, since it's just that but more. Same tone, same cast, same thesis statement (The Gods Suffer For Our Sins, same thesis statement as every Snyder movie), just for four hours.

Much like Darkseid, it transcends ideas like Good or Bad. It exists. That's all you need to know about its qualities. The Snyder Cut Is.

It's okay to take it slow! Better to keep things achievable than risk burning yourself out. There's always more time for school.

I was mostly just reading news stories (the Washington Post) and random blog posts (some guy on Kotaku does not like the snipers in Outriders). Nothing of substance.

Fearless, that Rider-inspired graphic novel, is due out the first week of May. It's getting mostly positive reviews so far!

Hey, I just started playing regular Monster Hunter! Everyone was talking about Rise, and I've got the regular version for free on PlayStation, so I thought I'd fire it up. The combat is a blast, super-addictive, but I don't feel like I've got a grasp on the non-combat parts of the gameplay loop. Still, enjoyable so far.
