Started up Clue on Mobile this week. Used to be and still is a board game.
Got the international suspects right away with plans to get the Sherlock pack next. White replaced by Orchid but playable for me. |
So, Doom Eternal. After 27 hours I have beaten the game on Ultra Violence and collected everything there is to collect and unlocked everything there is to unlock on that save file, which for me means I'm finished.
And man, this was quite the ride. I'd say this is the single best singleplayer first-person shooter I've ever played. I'm not huge into the genre as it needs science-fiction or fantasy elements to get me hooked, military men shooting at other military men doesn't interest me, but from the ones I’ve played this is the best. It’s not only a fantastic sequel to an already great game, Doom 2016, but manages to achieve what a sequel should always do: It surpasses its predecessor in every single way. The gameplay, the graphics, the presentation, the music - everything is perfect. The levels are longer and more interesting, the story is nothing special still but goes a lot deeper into the lore than the first game, and they outdid themselves with the level and enemy design. So good. It also managed to make me geek out hardcore, because it confirmed a theory I had playing Doom 2016. The Doom Slayer from these games is really the Doom Marine from Doom 1-2 and 64. I humored that theory playing the first game, throwing it away because it made no sense and then the guys at id Software come in, introduce the Doom-multiverse and are like "Yeah, its true". And it's done so well IMO, it adds another satisfying layer to this world and man I just love it so much. The only, teeny tiny thing I wished was done better, is the ending. The game just ends. There's no epilogue, no ending cut scene - you kill the final boss (which is great by the way), then the screen fades to black and that’s it. Now, Doom 2016 didn’t have half an hour of an ending cutscene either, but they did have a great moment with an NPC teasing what's to come. And considering that said NPC has a lot revealed about him in this game, I wished he came back and did it again. Oh well, there's DLC coming for this game so I hope it's more missions set after the end that tell us a bit about what happened and where Doom 3 / "Whatever subtitle they come up with" will be heading. Because let’s face it, after two games of this magnitude, there better be a third. |
11 chapters into the FF7 Remake. I am also getting a Nintendo Switch since I'm stuck in the house this month.
|
Now 13 Chapters in FF7R. I might start Fire Emblem 3 Houses tonight.
|
Hope it wasn't hard for you to get a switch because a lot of the stores around here are sold out of them.

Played a few hours of Fire Emblem 3H last night, doing the Black Eagle route. I wasn't going to at first, because it seamed such an obvious choice, but the characters are more appealing.
