Ah. Yeah, I see what you mean.
Kind of like when Demushu was just hanging around with all the other MOTWs in Shocker's employ in SHTGP. I mean, it's not like using monsters inappropriately is the biggest blunder in these crossovers, but yeah, they could try a little harder. |
It's not the biggest blunder. But it can be a pretty big one at times.

I've watched the first 5 Kamen Rider Wizard in Magica?! Land net movies. Pretty hilarious so far. The Police shorts are pretty funny, but holy holy holy shit I just had to stop after watching the first Spot the Magic Rider episode. I don't know why the concept of Medusa having Rider proposagnosia is so hilarious, but it really is. (also that random bowling ball charade at the beginning. no idea what's up with that but it was beautiful). It's so strange to see Medusa and Gremlin's roles switched with the usually serious Medusa being the comic relief while Gremlin is forced into a really ooc position of having to play the straight man (and that merch discussion). It's perfect.
Also this. This is my favorite. Of everything. |
Oh man yeah the Medusa Rider-blindness just had me in hysterics. They just get more and more insane as they go along.
|
I just started Kamen Rider Blade. I'm on episode 4 right now. I really like it so far.

I really didn't expect it to go to the places it did. Especially with Shunpei. Just....just...wow. ...They really went to some really unexpected places. Didn't expect Haruto vying for Shunpei's affections in that one Koyomi's Room segment, either. It was pretty crazy. Also the Rider Detective shorts also really went to a dark place. They just gave Riderman so much shit. First they make fun of his original sacrifice, then he dies watching Shocker porn. It's almost as incredible and funny as it is wildly inappropriate. I wish these shorts were their own full-fledged show. They were great. The Spot the Magic Rider ones though...completely amazing. I just wish there had been more than three, because it was a completely hilarious gag. Also this. Medusa is great. |
Just finished mostly rewatching the Sengoku Movie War. I say mostly because I skipped/skimmed some parts because eeeehhhhhh. The Wizard part was mostly fine, crappy treatment of Mages aside, but jeez I like the Bujin shit even less than I did the first time. That was a drag. That I had some trouble actually finding places to watch it (subs on kissasian are both shit and ugly, henshin fever has those comically overdone tvn subs and some of the videos were experiencing extreme lag) didn't help things. Would've been better off just torrenting it again or something.

Ghost Episodes 19 and 20: Damn this show is freaking phenomenal. I love the everything about this show. I just loved Takeru becoming friends with the Painter Ganma and that the Ganma had a heart. I do love this aspect when it is done but I am so happy the Ganma lived. Alain is so much fun being this villain that I feel will turn good sometime soon or I could be totally wrong but he feels like his face turn is being foreshadowed. I really enjoyed Kanon stepping up and following around Alain to keep trying to get Makoto back. On that note, I am totally happy that Makoto is back, he feels like one of the early Heisei Riders like he is deeply connected with the show that they couldn't have the show without him. Still Makoto and Takeru fighting together again was totally kickass against Alain. Alain is a very intriguing villain and I love him as Necrom. I am intrigued with the Ganma family and Igor's plans too. The writing here as been amazing with how much stuff they are building in the background for later. That twist at the end with Makoto was shocking and I can't wait for the next episode so badly. Also I've been loving the Eyecon quest and connecting with them a lot and Benkei and Nobunaga were amazing too. Akari and Onari were great too, I think they play Onari too much for comedy but I still enjoy him; Akari's grown so much and I just love how she is motivated to wanting to take down Igor. I can't saw enough good things about this show and I can't wait for more.

Skyrider episode 1.
Pretty decent. The effects seem to have improved in general, I especially like the way they do the kaijin deaths. Pretty, er, pretty. Hiroshi seems like a decent protagonist, though I felt he got over the whole "involuntary loss of your humanity" thing that is so central to the Kamen Rider series a bit quickly. I do like that they for once kept the helpful scientist character alive (although a little perplexed why he appeared to be ignorant of Hiroshi's ability to fly, since, presumably he gave it to him but eh). Not too sure about this reporter character though. Kaijin designs are kinda weak. Well, it's just episode one. The one in the preview looked better. And I really like the ending theme. Pretty nice. |
Skyrider episode 2.
Neat. In just two episodes NeoShocker has gotten me to like it far more than I ever did crappy old Shocker. Spider dude was kind of great. Starting to think Hiroshi's actor may not be the best at acting, though. |
I binged watched Kamen Rider Blade, and it's one of my top 3 Riders. It started out meh, but turned out really good in the end. Part of me wished that they would make a "10 years after" kind of thing.

Trying to catch up on Ghost, currently on episode 18. Had to put my Fourze and Den-O watching on hold, but I'll be getting back to them soon. :)

I wish a Blade 10 years after thing would happen too. Just to see where the characters are and how the villain all reunites them together again. |

Didn't Blade get an X years later book?

Temporarily abandoned my planned Heiseifest after I finished Blade. Will resume it with Hibiki when I feel like doing it.
Right now, decided to just plough into Black as my main thing right now. I found I was enjoying that more than Blade when I tried watching them at the same time. Somehow I'm enjoying this show a lot more than I did first time I saw it. Hoping next year they can get Tetsuo Kurata back for some kind of special, seeing as the show will be 30 years old then. |
After Blade I tried to choose between Kiva or Den-O, honestly hated Den-O (with all the milking) and the only reason I would even watch it is because Hana is hot. So I'll go with Kiva instead, even though people say it's meh because of Toshiki Inoue.
Also I'm a sucker for HD, is there a good quality for past series? All I know is that Bunny Hat has most of Tokusatsus, but they're raws, and only Blade's been subbed through Turn Up Scrubs. Hibiki and Agito are on my list for these. |
So, since I finished OOOs a couple weeks back I decided to venture into W. Ended up falling asleep during some of the episodes and only made it to episode 9 before I shelved it.
Having watched the OOOs/Den-O movie, I figured why not try Den-O? I liked the quick look into the characters from what I saw in the movie. Needless to say, I love it. Ryoutarou and Momotaros I just adore, so much. |

Actually started to Ghost now, going to be binging until I get to the current point.
Generally like it so far except the old ghost guy and Onari muggs the camera too much for my liking. |
Legend Rider Specials Numero 3 and 4
So they had Kaito show up, decide he wasn't taking no orders to kill Takeru... only to go fight Takeru anyway. Probably because, as a main rider, he reminds him way too much of that damn Kazuraba. He said a few things about strength, almost won, but then Takeru got an Orange Lockseed and curbstomped him. And I was too busy being hyped at the Gaim stuff to care about how little plot there was :D As for the Fourze part, Makoto fights some dude I don't know, get's Fourze icon, says catchphrase (even he doesn't know why, Takatora knows that feel), kills baddy. And then the two mysterious girls turn out to be working together. Honestly, these two specials are worth watching, if just for the fight scenes, and the slightly interesting side plot. |

About halfway through Black, and I still think the white facepaint on Birugenia looks goofy as hell. I like Birugenia, but the white face does nothing for me. The other thing I'm noticing, is that the "kid of the week" stuff isn't bugging me like it kinda did with say, Zyuranger. |

I figured it was a Fourze villain for obvious reasons, but I'd forgotten that Sagittarius even HAD a powered up form :lol the standard version I would have recognised a mile off, but then I always find the Hororscopes to be lacking when they don't have the cloaks as well.

Skyrider episode 12.
For this series, Slug Manperson is actually a pretty cool and scary design. Or at least, that's what it looks like in the dark. Once he went outside turns out, nope, he's pretty dumb and goofy looking actually. Gotta say, I've really grown to love both the opening and ending themes for this series. They are pretty great. |

Ghost Episodes 22 and 23: Man this has been an insanely wild ride with Ghost. I love the plot with Adel and his takeover of the Ganma world, even framing his brother man he is cold-hearted. Seriously, He is a great villain right now I can't wait to see how he goes from here. I just loved Takeru how he developed in both these episodes learning more about the Ganma world and how much it affected him. That he was just afraid that he wouldn't be able to save everyone and that he couldn't connect with everyone that the fear just crushed him was so very relatable to me because I worry about a ton of stuff like that and I get crushed too. I am very happy he bounced back quickly even if it took what happened to Makoto to do that but luckily Makoto is resilient and I'm sure they'll get to him soon. Makoto was fucking fantastic these episodes with wanting to bring Alain back, free his body, and help Takeru snap out of his crippling self-doubt. I am happy that he helped save Alain and that he's even helping Alain realize he has a heart and that he's going like Takeru to Alain. Makoto sacrificing himself I think he only did because he knew he wasn't going to die from it, I definitely think he would have tried something different or Takeru would have snapped out of it faster but both of them knowing that wasn't his real body kind is why that happened. Alain has certainly grown on me I knew he was going to take a face turn soon and I'm glad it happened sooner than later. I love that he got betrayed and how this is developing for him, I also relate to him with being the little brother who doesn't want any help, and is trying to his best to succeed. Though he needs to learn that people are there to help him. Also I loved that the Eyecons went back to him at the end, that I think the two luminaries are trusting him now after what happened. Oh also I am intrigued with Sennin or the Sage or whatever because he has been playing a very mysterious role so far and it's get more and more intriguing right now. Takeru's bounce back and transformation into the Grateful Damashii was fucking amazing, seriously this has been an amazing show so far and this super form is amazing and even better in action. I just love all the eyecons' powers in it and the design and how strong he was too. Also intrigued with the power up Javert got too. Can't wait to see how Yamato pops up in the next episode and how Alain and Takeru get along without Makoto and how they are going to get Makoto back. This is going to be such a fun series and I seriously can't wait for more.

I'm feeling a little under the weather and I had a day with pretty much nothing better to do, so I finally got around to watching the Drive movie. I'm not going to go into a ton of detail, but I liked it. It was really nice to see all of those characters againg; it took a long time for the show to grow on me, but by the time it was done I'd really grown attached to l those lovable weirdos.
The plot wasn't revolutionary, but I do have to give the movie props for surprising me. I'd assumed that it was going to be basically a Kamen Rider version of Terminator, but halfway through they pulled off several plot twists that I hadn't predicted. Really pleased with the whole thing, even if the CGI was pretty lousy in spots. Finally, I don't care how much you filter and distort it, the Drive belt honk is never going to sound threatening. Just stop, movie, you're embarrassing yourself. |
