I'm up to Episode 2 but from what I can gather from a lot of the previews the show has more direction than it has had in awhile with N and Team Plasma taking center stage.
The first ep was pretty much a first ep of Pokemon, introducing new viewers to the concept of Pokemon via the new girl (who I have to admit was adorably annoying with her overthinking). Team Rocket seems a lot more competant than in previous series though their obsession with Pikachu just ruins whatever momentum they have. N might be shaping up to be the reason I keep following the series. Aside from the fact that he's voiced by the dude who voice Oreki from Hyouka, he seems to be the catalyst to the story. |
I mainly watch because it's easier to find torrents and downloads than it is episode streams. I don't know why, it just is.
Granted, I'm not keeping up, but I am currently tempted. |
charizard has been popular since the begining of the pokemon era.heck in the trading card he was the most valuable back in the days and its still is now.anything charizard related always gets fans hyped up thats why alot of cards or items thats certainly charizard gets to be big money makers in the market.while I do hope the series will pick up since b/w did well in the begining and then it just went down

Mewtwo is definitely just in the movie to sell his D-art better. Sure there's the whole me and Genesect aren't meant to exist angle , but I imagine the movie would have done fine without him popping up. Charizard is probably more a mixture of sales and nostalgia, than just out right ' we need to get this guy back in the public consciousness' sort of thing. As matrix said, he's always been popular, but you can't deny the timing of it seems rather convenient.

Until then, though, I still stand by coincidental timing. These episodes are made well in advance, so I'm unsure to call it a tie-in. Mewtwo, definitely, since movies are handled differently, but not Charizard. Quote:

For all the grief I gave Ruby/Sapphire I can't deny some of my team mainstays still come from that Gen. The definitive Grass type starter to me is still Treecko and my most reliable Flying type of all time was this Swellow I had, the only Pokemon of that Gen I managed to train up to Level 100.
I'm not saying they won't remake R/S yet but with a new graphics system out soon I can see them going for a quick Gen 1 remake. Speaking of which, does anyone have a spare Salac Berry they can trade off with any Pokemon? My Black 2 Friend Code is 1206 8519 8487. |

To this day, the only starter I've never trained now is Mudkip :p Anyway, while Gen 3 did introduce me to my favorite Pokemon of all time (Milotic), two of my favorite starters (Sceptile and Blaziken, A FLAMING CHICKEN!), my favorite "Trio" (Regis/Golems), and my favorite Legendary (Deoxys), I actually didn't really like the games that much :lol |
