Anyone else find Akari annoying? I mean all this stuff is happening to her and yet shes trying to stay hardheaded.

She is pretty annoying.

It looks like she may actually put her money where her mouth is in episode 3, so I guess we'll see. She's been a pretty weak character so far though, yeah.

I dunno. When she's doing her "muh science" shtick, she can be irritating. But the scene with Takeru at the pond gave me hope for her character. She has the potential to become likable.

I think they'l start out as rivals, but they'll eventually become friends. They're both competing for 15 Eyecons which means they're competing for their lives, so I don't blame the guy if he's mean to Takeru. Personally I'd want to see them get along.

Well it seems like they're working together in the Movie War, so there's that.

That is usually how it goes. Even Shinnosuke and Gou butted heads for like, an episode and a half. I fully expect Makoto to be kind of a dick at first, but he will still be a heroic character, one can assume, so I don't think any serious rivalry or antagonism will last for too long.

I hope it's not like Faiz and Kaixa.

Yes. She's shown some potential, but she needs to get off her "everything must have a logical explanation!" shtick very quickly. I don't relish the idea of ~46 more episodes of aggressively denying the obvious.

People generally associate the word "necro", in any form, with being evil. So a lot of people are just going to assume automatically that he'll be evil.

While it's true that what little we know of Necrom doesn't explicitly imply that he will be villainous, the fact that his motif (eye drops) is shared with the villains does sort of point in that direction. It's too early to tell, though, obviously.

The popular theory seems to be that Aran will be Necrom, and since Aran is apparently a bad guy, the theory is Necrom will be a bad guy. That's pretty much all it is, I guess.

Gaim's motif was shared with both the heroes and the villains, and you could argue that Chase, while he was evil, shared the shift car motif with Shinnoske before switching to bikes, and there's also the Delta belt, which for a time belonged to the villains. Name any other case where the villain and hero both used the same powerset. I'm just basing this off the rumor from that guy who called all of these saying that he'd be evil.

Well, I don't mean that exactly. All Kamen Rider series have the heroes and villains derive their powers from the same source, it's one of those intrinsic Kamen Rider things. In Ghost, for instance, the big thing is Eyecons, and the big theme is, well, eyes. In a general sense, everything in Ghost shares that eye motif.

So yeah, Necrom does have shared motifs with the other Riders: eyes, hoodies, etc. But the eye drops are more specific than that. None of the good guys so far have been shown to have anything to do with eye drops. In fact the only thing we have seen the eye drops used for is summoning Ganma, which is, you know, not a good thing. So when a Kamen Rider comes around with an eye dropper strapped to his wrist, well, you wonder.

True, again, I was just referencing the rumor regarding Necrom being evil, and you brought up an interesting point with his device and it's connection to the villains.

Just had a thought. Takeru comes back to life after he collects 15 eyecons. When he regains his life, will he continue to be Kaman Rider Ghost, or will he lose his powers?

He'll lose them probably, if he returns to life he isn’t a ghost anymore, and being a ghost seems to be the criteria of being able to use a Ghost Driver.

It’s kinda like past Riders who became more inhuman while using their powers, only that Takeru became "un-human" in the very first episode when he died. I mean we’ll probably see something similar later when he accustomed himself to being a Ghost and maybe he doesn’t want to come back anymore, but that’s going over your question.

I just think living humans can’t be a Kamen Rider Ghost.

But he was told that if he doesn't get the eyecons and regains his life that he'll be gone forever. I think that means he'll just vanish or finally pass over to the afterlife. And this might be a little heavy of a convo.

Worth noting that Makoto is alive, and a Ghost Rider. Of course if the coma thing is true it complicates things, but that's still an alive human dude being a spooky Rider.

Considering that they're going to keep bringing him back for crossovers and stuff I imagine they'll leave some mechanism in place for him to keep his powers in any case.

Or, as usual, they'll just completely ignore whatever happened at the end of the Rider's series and bring them back with little to no explanation (example: Ryuki) lol.

Well, pre-Decade shows are different since they didn't really start doing or factoring in crossovers until then. I don't really know, since I've only seen Gaim and Drive, but I got the impression that W-Fourze also left the Riders with their powers or some way to access them at the end.

Which will be interesting because if we consider how fast the 99 days are passing, he might be revived mid-season. Which could make a pretty interesting plot, the main rider suddenly losing his power...?

He regained his power in Movie Taisen Mega Max, where Ankh and the medals reappeared from the future. As it was never specified when exactly he and the medals will return, Eiji technically has a chance to have had them back for all his appearences afterwards- though Ultimatum suggests that he didn't have them back yet because he didn't transform in that one (and the OOO that appeared was created by the Wizard rings).

Fourze and Wizard kept their powers, but Ultimatum suggested that Gentarou might give them up in the future. Gaim also still has his. Drive lost his powers, though Belt did say he would return when needed, which happened in the Final Stage, for example.

As for the Pre-Decade Riders... I think the only ones who explicitly lost their powers at the end of the show were Ryuki and Faiz, the latter actually died, according to the Yongou special, but the Faiz Belt can still be used by any Orphenoch, so the Rider can still appear- it just isn't Takumi anymore.

I'm mostly basing my assumption that they all get to keep their powers on the fact that they all have a Movie War after the series, and a whole crossover movie in which the old Rider can't transform would be kind of boring. I suppose they could always make it so that they do get their powers during those crossovers though, yeah...like Takatora, I guess. So I guess Takeru could easily lose his powers at the end as long as he gets them back by December...

Yes, but what's important is that there is a way for them to get their power back that they can excuse any future appearances with. The same will likely be true of Takeru.

Well supposedly Specter isn't a Ghost though, so I'm not too sure that being one is actually a requirement of using the Driver at all.

Tendou also technically 'lost' his powers, but they could easily explain that the Kabuto zecter comes back for him if his assistance is needed.

As for Ryuki, maybe the Shinji Kido from Episode Final is the one constantly showing up, and not the one from the original timeline. I've always theorized that the Pre-Den-O movies are themselves A.R. worlds where Tsukasa can go and recruit Riders. It would certainly explain why Diend can summon riders that supposedly never existed.

Ah, I wasn't sure about Kabuto anymore since it's been so long since I watched it. But yeah, it's still Tendou, so the Kabuto Zecter will probably appear for plot convenience as everything in Kabuto did, lol.

The idea of A.R. Ryuki is pretty neat, tbh. That would actually make sense for once.

Adding to this discussion about Riders keeping powers, Eiji did get the Medals back in Mega Max, but he kept them after that. The thing up in the air on when he did it was bringing Ankh back. His cameo in Ultimatum...yeah, I just assumed he didn't need to transform to handle a couple of mooks.

Regarding Fourze, the Fourze Driver gets destroyed 5 years after Ultimatum, which makes it 2017. Meaning not until the Rider after Ghost has ended. Until then, Fourze's appearances make sense. And even then, Kengo outright said that the Fourze Driver will continue to appear to help Gentaro, even though it seems to be destroyed.

As for the other Neo-Heisei Riders so far, they all still have their power, whether full time (Double, Wizard, Gaim) or for emergencies (Drive).
