I definitely think Amazons, Faiz and Blade would be the easiest to do in CHRONICLE -- so few riders and forms to cover! Hibiki too if they decide they don't really care much about Oni beyond the core four. Though god I'd want a Kabuki...

I'm having trouble finding info about SHODO box layouts, so what do they typically look like in you guys' experience? 10 boxes a wave? How many dupes are there usually? I'm getting increasingly interested in SHODO-X 12 by the day and so I'm wondering what I can expect in terms of dupes.
|
It's been a while since I looked, but you usually get a box of ~12. Duplicate of the bike is normal, duplicate of the main Rider is normal, and usually one each of the others? I'll see if I can find an example.
|
Duplicate of the bike?! Okay, wow; that's actually really nice because I like the visual of Cross-Z on it too. Nice to know I don't have to choose!
|
I'm definitely basing this off Showa waves, where the bike gets more emphasis, but I can't see them changing it up *that* much? Especially since they're doing the Machine Builder in the first place.
|
If I'm not mistaken, the bike is normally two boxes, as in it two boxes to make one bike, so that accounts for a large amount of the boxes in a SHODO set.
|
Note that Shodo-X waves X1-X10 all have 6 different boxes. X11 and X12 (neither of which have been released yet) both have 7 different boxes. A case contains 10 boxes, meaning that X11 and X12 will have 1 less extra in the case. I don't think there will be room for an extra bike.
Also, X10, while it only had 6 boxes, only put one bike in the case. This makes the expansion set and Rider figures 1:1. The bike of that wave has no parts in that expansion set and was the only one not to. The center stage figure was also Hyper Kabuto, which most of the expansion set was for. I think this is the logic going forward. My theory for X11 is: Ex-Aid Level 2 x2 (The center stage figure) Riderman x2 Expansion Set x2 (Completes the 2 figures above) Ex-Aid Mighty Bros R x1 Ex-Aid Mighty Bros L x1 Riderman's Bike A x1 Riderman's Bike B x1 I theorize X12 will do similar, but I'd have to see what's in the Expansion Set first. Regardless of what I think it will be, X11 and X12 will have different case breakdowns from past cases because there's less room for extras. |
Yeah, if that's how it's done it's hard not to see the dupes being Build, Cross-Z, Expansion. Though I could possibly see one of Build or Cross-Z being replaced by a Hazard dupe if the expansion pack includes alternate Hazard heads.

It's been a while since I did a SO-DO. I've been trying to buy less of them but I could not resist this one.
Liner Form is one of my favorite designs purely because I'm a train nerd. https://i.imgur.com/EVKjBte.jpg This one was a lot of work. It is extremely sticker heavy, which includes white stickers. I did what I was willing to do. Black paint on the feet, sides of legs, sides of arms, shoulder, neck and head. White paint on the hands, inside of arms, edges of shoulder Silver on heels, ankle, kneepads, wrists, belt, weapon, collar, back, face details, and pantograph. The Red-White-Black made me think of Saber a lot. I do have base Saber coming in the mail soon and I'm not looking forward to it! |
... All that said and done, that just leaves Chalice Wild and the movie Riders, right?
And Taiyaki Master, ofc. |
To go into more specifics about those Blade sets, there is a copious amount of Gold Paint that goes into them to make them as stunning as they are and I think it ends up making the Jack Forms in particular look the best they've ever been. Talking of them, something very important and cool to note is that their wings are all each individual soft pieces -- so they're all individually moveable for a very wide array of posing possibilities, which is extremely cool on a small candy toy like this!
That whole Blade section was seriously SHODO just beating me over the head making me realise I gotta invest in this line. They're so damn beautiful! As for Wild Chalice, I'm hoping that'll be released in a SHODO-O wave; I can't imagine it holding up a set on its own. https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...1120003911.jpg https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...1120005409.jpg |
I think GT gave me "Outrageous amounts of gold paint", which sums it up pretty well.

That whole section of the blog is an insanely nerdy elaboration on how Saber actually hasn't used that exact form; he was also using Storm Eagle with it in episode 6, and the shield was the straw house. The fact that all three shields showed up when Kenzan used the book in episode 8 is also mentioned, but it all seems to just be an overly complex way of saying "look, this is how SO-DO is handling this form; just deal with it." |
It works fine when the blog doesn't go incredibly specific on a detail I didn't even know the form had!

...$65 for Blade King? Ooooof. I'm not saying that's a bad price, what with the P-Bandai and middleman of it all, but, no way. I can't get on board with $65 for a single SHODO figure. That is me out of trying to collect all of the Blade guys. |
It's insane how much Tokullectibles marks up a lot of items; even cheap retail ones like RKF. If I wasn't already locked out of them from living in the UK (their cheapest shipping to me is, like, 30 dollars), stuff like this would turn me away instantly. I would just wait on Ninnin game; it marks up too but not nearly to this extent. Daguva for example is about 30 dollars.
|
So, we still have to get through:
Zero-One; Orthoros Vulcan Ark Scorpion Abbadon (x4) Saber; Saber Crimson Dragon Saber Dragon Bremen Saber Draconic Knight Blades King Lion Buster Jakkun Kenzan Kenzan Buta3 Slash Slash Bremen Falchion Feel free to add anything! |
The Abaddons look the exact same aside from the Driver, right? So I imagine it’ll just be one Abaddon we’ll get with two swappable drivers. Will get dupes in full boxes.

SO-DO CHRONICLE news tonight... what we thinking it'll be? More Gaim, a new PB set for OOO or Den-O, something new perhaps like Faiz or Wizard?
|
I feel like it might be too soon after the start of Chronicle Gaim to announce a new Rider, though if they do, my hope is for Ryuki. Maybe Chronicle Aqua and Poseidon?

Y'all wouldn't have guessed this in a million years. https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...1126204107.jpg OOO Sarumiuo Combo, aka OOO but using Poseidon's medals. What a world. He comed with a Medaljalibur, 2400 Yen, go buy him on PB and cry that we're getting him instead of Poesidon. Meanwhile, in Saber news: https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...1128131443.jpg Oh whoops did I say Saber I Meant Zero-One! It's Orthoros Vulcan, aka Vulcan's best looking form. He comes with his Shotrisers, and Naki's Claws to use. Also, this guy: https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...1127175130.jpg Kamen Rider Abaddon, apparently. There's a bunch of slightly different versions, I assume to tie in with movie related content. I haven't seen the trailer yet, sorry, so can't explain 100%. https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...1128074957.jpg ALso, with Book 2 out today, we get the promo for that, including Saber Dragon/Lion/Alangina. Obvs nothing's confirmed, but nice to see the blog writer on the same wavelgnth as the fans. https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...1127175352.jpg |
Edit; Akiba got to it
Holy crap today’s reveals Also I’m hoping that we do get aqua and Poseidon (and some of the other combos too) |
This form... is completely new, right?
|
I think it was in a booklet included with the CSM OOO Driver that all the future medals came with. And, for what it's worth, the text mentions the combo shown in Memory of Heroes (the bug one, iirc), so that's some subtle foreshadowing if I ever read any...
|
Of all the things I saw coming tonight, this was not one of them, oh my fucking god
SO-DO's hooked me right back in, I'm getting this thing. This is AMAZING! The blog also notes that of course, as a Combo in CHRONICLE OOO, it's fully compatible with the Combo Change gimmick and integrable with any other Combo in the line so far. Two minor Saber-related things as well that was noted, both relating to Book 2's Saber Dragon Jack: first of all, it comes with a belt sticker for the Dragon Peter form; so you can totally replicate that perfectly using Fantastic Lion's parts! Neat! More prominently, Buster is fully compatible with Dragon Jack's parts to replicate his Jakkun form. Presumably we'll see this pattern continue, especially with Saber 3 Pigs in this wave: Wave 4 Kenzan & Saber Dragon Bremen, Wave 5 Slash. That's my predictions! I believe this just brings it down to Ark-Scorpion for 01, right? https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...1127175518.jpg https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...1128074830.jpg |
By the by, since they didn't say the wave is over nor show a wave layout and last wave had 6 figures too, I'm guessing Book 3 will indeed have Crimson Dragon as a sixth figure. It would be very odd to me to not include it in this wave for one, and it seems exactly the sort of thing they'd do as a final reveal.
So with that in mind, wave predictions:- Book 4:- - Crimson Dragon - Fantastic Lion - Jaou Calibur - Kenzan - Saber Bremen - Ark-Scorpion Book 5:- - Falchion - Slash - New Rider - New Rider - New Rider - New Rider |
A little disappointed they're putting all of Abaddon into just two boxes. Was hoping they'd be 4, with two bodies to give a head start on getting at least all four main versions. Was G-man saying that using the Saber arm on Buster is the only way were going to get Buster Jackkun?

Abaddon is an extremely minor character and I don't think many people would really care about getting them, so I'm okay with this especially given there's so much catch-up to do otherwise. |
Yeah, I expected Abaddon from the very beginning to be a two-box release and nothing more. They're even less relevant than the Battle/Invading Horseshoe Crab Raiders. Every single thing about the Abaddon suits is modular; there just isn't a need for multiple releases aside from army-building.
|
No, yeah, I should clarify, I was hoping Abaddon would be two per case so they'd be easier to armybuild, I wasnt expecting them to be be anything important
