Anyway, rewatching HoPR again, I had a thought occur to me. Is the whole destroying the Megazords/mecha just a Power Rangers thing? I mean, it happens for a majority of series in Power Rangers, usually as either part of the finale or the build-up to it, but I've never checked on whether that was something the Sentai did as well.

I think that used to happen but it more or less stopped once annual team ups became a thing. At the top of my head, the two Steel StarBeasts from Gingaman were the last "important" mecha to be destroyed permanently.

Victory Robo, Dekaranger Robo, and Senpuujin were destroyed, too.

But at least Victory and Dekaranger Robos can be rebuilt. I have no idea about Senpuujin.

I think they were all rebuilt in their respective Vs crossover movies :lol

Does it matter?
Canon in tokusatsu is just as confusing and messy as comic book superheroes. Is shurikenger dead or alive? He died in his series and was replace by a kid in the 10 year anniversary movie. However, he did appear in the annual versus that serves as a epilogue/sequel to the original series. Oh, he even show up in Ninninger too.

Tetraboy from Jetman was destroyed in the final battle.

Hmm.....RV Robo and VRV Robo also destroyed in Carranger Last Episode but both robots are repaired after final battle.

I was only naming mechs destroyed after Gingman, because the poster said the Steel StarBeasts were the last important ones to be destroyed.
