Ok I'm watching the Birth of the Tenth special I guess. Here we go.
-Very in media res opening they've got here. If it wasn't impossible I would have thought I skiped two episodes. -This theme song is sure unique. I like it. -Hey RhinoDump cameo. Sweet. -That is a lot of backstory they just kinda drop on you. Not big fans of show don't tell I guess. Really does feel like I skipped a bunch of nonexistent episodes. -How does Riderman know he's called ZX. -Also damn me but I think this ugly Thing of a suit may be growing on me. - Just my luck that the only returning actors are from the one series I haven't watched and that bland dude from Super-1. Man I just...have a lot less to say about this thing than I thought I would. It's. Certainly a thing I watched. Nothing really notable about it. Nice theme song though. |
And I just watched episode 1 of Agito.
Not a lot happened. G3 isn't very good at the Kamen Ridering. Also lots of cat people I guess. |

And yeah, G3 is pretty underwhelming at first. That is kind of the point, though: he was designed to fight the Grongi, not the Unknown. |

Just wait until he gets a new base suit (power-up). The old base suit is barely used again that pissed off many people as I noticed. Ghost has some sort of bad handling for form changes, you may need to prepare for that. It's a show that sells toys after all. |
So I finished Drive last night.
I loved it, so so much. It had a lot of problems that I won't overlook, but it was entertaining as hell and there was so much I enjoyed about it. Shinnosuke Tomari is was a great protagonist, aside from his heroic aspect, he was also really relatable and to see him grow was great, and he reminded me a lot of myself. I may write a review, but it was great. |
Just started Ryuki yesterday. Got up to Episode 4. It's pretty cool so far. But I can already see problems that aren't gonna be solved at all.
Like how Yui seems to believe her brother started the Rider War because Ren told her. Okay, why she trusts him wasn't really all that defined. So he fought for other people. That doesn't mean he's immediately correct. And then while Ren keeps trying to push away Shinji in the beginning I don't get what happened with the school. Ren's under suspicion since it looks like he attempted to have Darkwing eat some students. Turns out that's not what happened, but it took the entire episode to get an answer to it when Ren could've just freaking told Shinji what really happened instead of waiting for so damn long. Also if Yui really wants to see her brother again to confirm Ren's words then why didn't she just become a Rider? She had Shinji's deck when it was blank since instead was before me made a contract with Dragreder. So she could've just done it herself. But no, she gives it to him, tells him how to do it & then chastises him later on by saying she trusts Ren more because she finds him more reliable than Shinji. Then why the freak did you give Shinji the deck you idiot? Do it yourself! Ugh, either way I'm gonna continue the series & hope things get better because I actually do like most of what I've seen. It's just those previously mentioned things that get to me. |

I think they wanted to ask the viewer if they trust Ren enough or not, so he created this impractical situation just so that we as the viewer can think about it. Quote:

Yep. MISUNDERSTANDINGS are early Heisei's favorite plot device.
|
Aye.......oh well. I've seen worse. Still looking forward to the series.

I'm now a few episodes into the retooled Hibiki. While not quite the nosedive I was dreading, you can tell Inoue's all over this show at this point - New character appears, he's a dick, and people don't have proper conversations with each other... |
Fourze Episodes 35 and 36: This was a great episode for JK and Gentarou. I enjoyed learning about JK, his dreams and his friend. This was really fun with Kengo, Yuki, and Nozama rocking out in the band was hilarious. Gentarou really is an amazing friend and I just loved how far he went to restore his bond with JK and breaking the effect Capricorn. This Core switch has me intrigued and it's great that the plot is moving forward and we totally have more of an idea what the bad guys are doing. Leo is just a badass here with using all of the other Horoscopes switches which is awesome to see those suits again because they have a lot of great designs this season. I am enjoying Ryuusei more especially his feud with Leo is great. He is so determined to beat this guy and I loved his strategy of attacking one part of Leo to give him a weak point, brilliant move. I liked that Cosmic states needs the bond to work that was a nice part to his final form and that is perfect for Gentarou. The Cosmic energy protecting Ryuusei and Gentarou is a nice touch that their power gives them a benefit not transformed too. I am liking how the series is going right now and that it is moving more to the other Horoscopes with more Cosmic energy spreading more now. I can't wait for more.

I'm 4 episodes into Agito.
This Shouichi really likes his puns. It is funny how they make all his friends so...agito-ted. Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaah I am bad at the puns. |
Ghost episode 2. Solid, if generic episode. The CGI lizard battle was pretty weird. I definitely enjoy the ghost hunting aspect of the series, and hope they end up making good use of that. So far, I don't mind the collectibles, but I'm hoping they drift away from it a bit as the series goes on. Overall, I'm looking forward to seeing more of this show.
I've gotta say though, as somebody who primarily watches Sentai...it was so weird seeing him "beat" the enemy and not have them grow in size. Quote:

Anyways: Fourze Episodes 37 and 38: This was a fantastic two-parter for Yuki, I thought it was great that she actually gets to strive for her dream and that they gave her a rival for this small arc. Eline was great except for when she was screaming but she was kind of similar to Yuki but very different and made for a great Horoscope. Also it was nice of her to heal Kengo of his problems I hope that kind of stays because I don’t see any of the power going away especially with him being able to do that run and that Yuki’s foot or ankle wasn’t magically broken again. Ryuusei was great especially when he lost out and didn’t tell anyone it was because of his short temper. Though I liked that he has a stronger connection with Gentarou and really feels like a very close friend these episodes with keeping Eline’s secret because of him and making sure they fought one on one. Also Meteor Storm using the Fire switch for that special attack was kind of awesome. I like how Meteor is still able to keep up with the enemies and Fourze here too. Gentarou was wonderful like always with doing his best to help make Eline believe that her and Yuki can be friends and going through all the trouble that Yuki wasn’t trying to sabotage her. Gentarou helping both of them was great. Leo is definitely loyal especially with just attacking Gentarou for being in eyes disrespectful to his boss. I am not surprised with who Taurus is with just introducing and having him be the fourth member succeeding here. Seriously the 30′s have been the best episodes of Fourze yet. I can’t wait for more. |

Just finished Ghost 5. Really enjoying this series so far. I just don't remember him getting the Newton Eyecon. Do they show him getting it, or does he just kind of...already have it?
|

BUT It also doesn't. Like, it's kind of a big plot hole that doesn't make sense, because Ghost acts like he got it in Drive, but in Drive it was just sort of there, we never find out where it came from. Also the timeline in regards to the Drive stuff makes like, negative sense so. Just, don't worry about it. A wizard did it. |
Quote:
Well, I was just freaking out because I thought I missed something. I guess I didn't, he literally just pulls it out and uses it in Ghost. Which means I didn't miss anything. |
That was actually the episode that made me drop Ghost :lol
After they had him pull the Eyecon out his ass with a 2 second clip from Drive where he got it (That doesn't fit into the timeline of Ghost), I just clapped my hands and was done with the series :lol |

Well, there's a simple explanation for that timeline-
gravity distorts space time ................................. time travel ...................................... Onari's hammy voice .............................. Dr Harley Hendrickson. And that's how the timeline works! |

If the show was willing to literally go "Hey, what about that thing you got?" and then save the day with a new power from out of nowhere, what does that mean for when the bigger plots start? Also didn't help that I was kind of getting sick of Ghost by episode 3, as all the genuinely interesting or funny moments were countered by the annoying bits too often. |

At least the story moved forward though, I feared they would hunt Eyecons for the entire runtime of the show. |

Finished Hibiki just now.
Pulled the Kuuga stunt of not actually giving us a proper final battle, this time opting to just skip ahead a year. I sort-of get why Heisei KR does finales that are a bit crap but it still bugs me. Really disappointed that it didn't end with Asumu becoming an Oni, especially when Kirya does. I never liked him at all. I liked the end scene between Hibiki and Asumu though, for a moment it felt like the old pre-Retool Hibiki show came back. The Todoroki learning to walk again stuff... stuff like that is where you can really tell Toshiki Inoue would rather have been just writing soap operas or something. All in all, Hibiki was a mixed bag. Some interesting stuff that's different from the stuff just before it, but you can tell the retool happened. Will decide whether to go right into Kabuto in a bit, or find something else to watch as my next Toku. |
I'm up to episode 9 of Agito.
That Houjou dude is an ass hole. Also I want an SS Figuarts Gills. Anyway, I wasn't planning on it until a bit later, but doing it now simplifies things a lot, so. Let's watch Shin Kamen Rider. -Institute of Super Science huh. Sounds super. -Hey, Ishinomori cameo. -Ishinomori is sneaky. -Great Grasshopper Fetishist Onizuka -This scene is trying to be serious but I'm just sitting here thinking Shin should put on some pants. -whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat -No really, what. "STAY AWAY FROM ME FOREVER!!!! well nevermind ai let's go skinny dipping i guess" -This movie is strange -Well that was one grotesque transformation. -I like how the pregnancy only became in any way apparent once the characters and audience first became aware of it. The way it was never foreshadowed and is only working as the plot demands it is truly some good storytelling. -This fetus's face is far creepier than the fact that it is half grasshopper. -Also, she's been pregnant for what, three days I'm guessing? Maybe more, maybe less. I don't care. But she doesn't even look a little bit pregnant. How is this grasshuman so developed already. Where the hell is it even hiding. -Yeah Ai, shield your bulletproof baby daddy with your own not bulletproof meat. That's smart. You smart, Ai. You smart. -Mighty spine day we're having innit. -I think this head was an acorn in its past life. -(because he NEVER GIVES UP, see) -Yeah so...I guess his dad exploded too? -The end. Goodbye creepy baby. Hrm. Yeah. That was a movie. I give it a ¯\_(ツ)_/¯/10 That is all. |

So I was curious and bored before going to bed and decided to watch the first episode of Masked Rider again because I haven't seen it since I was a kid and I have seen Kamen Rider Black RX and ZO.
Besides some moments I actually enjoyed the first episode, I thought they did a good job of describing the threat of Plague and Count Dregan. It was interesting or weird I'm not quite sure of adding in ZO's villain as the first villain but I did enjoy the American footage a lot. The voice acting of the villains was really good though the acting of some of the supporting cast of Dex wasn't too good. Though I definitely see which characters are supposed to be who from Black RX. Ferbus didn't bother me in this episode though it seemed weird that he would be sent to Earth. I liked all the parts on Edenoi with his Grandfather and friends. My curiosity and nostalgia will probably watch some more of this later though. Dex was interesting main character and reminds me of Kotaro-lite so for an American version of Kamen Rider I think he fit good. I think the most hilarious part is that he's wearing Kotaro's civilian clothes from Black RX. |

So, I'm on episode 17 of Ghost. I feel like the show has slowed down since the end of the first arc. I'm still enjoying it, but I really enjoyed the beginning part. Also, wtf happened to Specter? He started off with Ghost barely being able to land a hit, now he's completely useless. Of course, there was an interesting development with him this episode, which will likely shake up the status quo. I hope so at least, since trying to talk to the Eyecons isn't as interesting for me as actually searching for them.
