Why do I also feel that if Marvel cast Iron Fist into the dustbin of history on the premise that such a racist idea should be better left forgotten, these same people complaining would also complain about that being a racist denial of historical racism only racists would do even though at this point that seems like what they want?

If the race thing is such a big deal why does the comic still exist or why was he made into a cartoon character? I don't see why the problem if its appeared in the past with no controversy.

Because everything is racist or sexist or some other category of offense nowadays. Captain America is a jingoistic symbol of American imperialism, Black Widow is sexist because the term "black widow" is negative and applies to females exclusively, Thor is offensive to Norse Pagans for how it misrepresents their theology etc.

Hell, people freaked out about Doctor Strange whitewashing the Ancient One, despite them doing that because the original Tibetan dude from the comics wasn't going to do well in the big moneymaking Chinese market because China doesn't like it when you treat Tibet as a thing that exists, and heaven for bid that a company doesn't want to piss off its consumer base! And even if China not liking it when people talk about Tibet wasn't an issue, I'm sure there would be people who were complaining about a mystical magical elderly Asian dude giving superpowers being a racist caricature. People seem to just want to be offended nowadays so that they can have an imaginary dragon to slay.
