My theory is that Iron Fist simply isn't as well-known, otherwise there wouldn't be as many complaints. Granted, there are people who just look for reasons to whine, but there were people who threw hissy fits that Black Panther would have nearly an entirely black cast and that the school kids in Homecoming would be a mix of races like in actual high schools

Honestly, I'm not too concerned.
Look up reviews for literally any MCU film. You'll find someone who basically says "It's if Tommy Wiseau decided to make a super hero flick."
Every work has it's dissenters. Hell, I just finished a conversation with someone who thinks Jessica Jones is the absolute worst Marvel series.

I'll give it a fair shake before I go into it filled with dread. It's possible it's bad, but it's also possible that people don't know what they're talking about.
