Fourze Episodes 45 and 46: Well the Principal is an asshole but put on a masterful performance. Seriously even I was convinced he switched sides but nope he's just tricking everyone. I felt bad for Ran but at least it was a student we knew this time around for the horoscopes. Interesting twists with Kengo, I am looking forward to seeing his connection with the Core Switch. Gentarou felt like he was going to destroy something with all this talk of taking friendship for granted or not being friends. The Kamen Rider Club was good and seeing Kengo and Yuuki just hang out was nice too. I like the deeper connection and learning about everything that was happening before in the series with the revelations we found out here. Ryuusei also felt like he wanted to destroy something too he's just as fond of friendship and the giant ploy that was used against him I'm sure he didn't like. Great team work between Fourze and Meteor and great combos too the action was awesome these episodes. I can't wait to finish the series with the next two episodes.

Started Kamen Rider Black. I'm lovin' it.

Kiva has a nonsensical plot that's head scratching at best and just kind of dumb at worst. It's characters are either bland and boring, or Otoya, and it's lead just isn't a strong character to hold interest.

Fourze Episodes 47 and 48 (END): This was one hell of a brilliant finale. Seriously, these two final episodes were simply fantastic. This brought out the best in everyone though mainly Gentarou, Yuki, Kengo, and Ryuusei. Kengo and Gentarou's scene were just so emotional and powerful that when Gentarou was crying I started tearing up because his friend was going to leave him. I felt bad for Kengo with what happened to him but before that using the Core Switch power he was badass. Yuki reading Kengo's letter and saying good bye was emotional too. Ryuusei was amazing too his fight scene with Leo were amazing and I just loved that it was when they were human. His final fight scene with Leo was kick ass and I loved how Ryuusei finally knew how to beat him. Just his determination and wanting to live with his new friends was just so awesome. Also I loved him doing his best to defend the KRC's base too. Fourze's fight with Sagittarius was fantastic I loved him using all his forms against him but the main part in the school was brilliant. Having the KRC say how much the school changed them and how Gentarou was kicking butt in his human form was great. Also defeating him in his Base States was brilliant too. I enjoyed the end with Kengo coming back, Ryuusei saying he didn't have a girlfriend to Tomoko, Wizard's cameo hurting Shun with Miu, and Gentarou and the others shouting Space Kitaaa! All was great. This was one of the best Rider finales I've seen.
Also I loved Kiva it's a very fun show. |

Kamen Rider Fourze (Series Thoughts): Ah it's been a while but another Kamen Rider show finished. This was a very different ride than I was expecting from this. The Kamen Rider Club special and amazing. I have to say the best part of this show from start to finish was Gentarou; his energy and power of friendship was just so powerful and magnetic you just ended up loving this guy and his quest. The other thing that it just wasn't that he wanted to become friends with everyone, it's that he believed in friendship with all his heart. I mean he gets so upset when anyone would cast it aside or not believe in it that it like hurt him and I think that was one of the best parts of Gentarou. Ryuusei was something else I went from why do we even need this guy to this guy is kick ass and awesome. The big similarity I think with him and Gentarou is that they both believe in friendship; I mean from the beginning he was doing everything he could to save his friend and even went so far to kill Fourze to do it. He did change for the better after that and learning how wrong he was but still I think he was very interesting as he was being something he wasn't in the beginning to actually being who he truly was in front of the KRC. He was determined, confident, believed in both hope and friendship, and a very intelligent fighter. Both Gentarou and Ryuusei were both skilled fighters, Ryuusei more in actual martial arts and Gentarou is more improvisational but still had great moves it was a delight to watch both these guys kick ass. Kengo was fantastic starting off very shy and shut off from people to caring about his friends, I think he had one of the best stories here especially about learning what he is and his whole secret back story. He really cared about these people and knew how much they meant to him. Yuki was a whole lot of fun and one of the best parts of the KRC with how she always said Space Kitaaa with Gentarou with her Space puppet but also with how much she wanted to be an astronaut and always fought for that goal. The other members of the KRC I enjoyed them a lot though Miu and Shun had more in the beginning and then were just kind of there. JK I thought was very important with gathering all the info he did and Tomoko's instinct was key and finding out stuff with Virgo too. Moving past the character study I enjoyed all of the music in it that was very good and one of the best theme songs. The Switches were actually pretty fun to me and one of the more useful gimmicks with how they tied into the story. Loved all of Fourze's forms that were all fun and awesome though Elec States and Cosmic were probably my favorite and Meteor's two forms were kick ass too. The overall story definitely rockets in quality as it goes through each 10 episode block for me, the beginning was eh, the 10's were better, the 20's were good, the 30's were awesome, and the 40's were amazing. I loved the message of friendship from this show and that friends can help you when you are down and that type of bond is important. Also that Fourze ends up beating the final Horoscope and manages to change his mind at the end was also fantastic. Definitely in the top tier of my favorite Kamen Riders which surprises me a lot but it's ending makes up for everything, especially because knowing everything makes somethings make a lot more sense.

Fourze is such a fun ride. I'm glad you enjoyed it, it's my second favorite for a reason!
I'm almost done with Ryuki myself, but I've burnt out on it a bit. I swear I always have this problem with things written by Yasuko Kobayashi. Hopefully the ending will be awesome though. |
Fourze is my absolute favorite series and I'm alway glad when i see other people enjoying it too. c:
Anyways, on topic, I just started Blade. So far it's pretty interesting, love the suit designs, and the gimmick. |
The Agito HBV is...um. It's...it exists.
It exists. |

Since the Fourze fans (like me!) have been chiming up recently, can someone help me remember if there was an episode where Meteor Storm was riding Machine Meteor Star?

I just finished Ryuki and I don't even know how I feel. On one hand, the characters were enjoyable, the Rider designs were awesome, and it could be quite funny. Not to mention the slaughterfest climax was awesome. On the other hand, quite a few things were never properly explained (like what the Mirror World actually is or how Kanzaki's crazy plan was supposed to work), the character development was all crammed towards the end, and that weird retcon(?) ending. In the end it was a decent but nowhere near perfect season for me, probably a notch or two below Kuuga. I think the most interesting part about it has to be how it clearly had a huge impact on pretty much all the seasons that came after it. Ryuki is quite the trendsetter!
Still the most I've ever enjoyed anything Yasuko Kobayashi wrote though. I swear I WANT to like the things she writes, but it never sits well with me. I'll be checking out the bonus stuff later. The alternate ending to Ryuki sounds interesting. Maybe that's where I got the delusional idea that Ren got killed from. I mean, maybe he did die during the actual show's ending, who the heck knows. |
I just watched Fourze's Hyper Battle DVD and we needed more Amazon x Fourze! They are the perfect team!

Drive 22
I'm glad some progress has been made with Chase, but I feel like they kind of dragged it out - there's been a Chase fight almost every episode. Also not a fan of how they just did a recap of the fight instead of actually ending the fight from last episode. I'm excited to see where they go with the character from here. |

I just finished the Fourze Net videos and they were a blast. I loved learning about the Suit Actors, seeing Fourze with the Kamen Riders (Especially Garren lol), and learning about Space Tetsujin Kyodain (I want to watch it!). Interesting bunch of Riders they picked for Fourze to meet but I loved Tomoko with Wizard lol.

Drive 26. All I can really say is it's about time. They've been building up Chaser for the entire series so far now. But with the identity out and Chaser over, it sets the stage for things to get really interesting.

Current Rider show I've been watching: Kamen Rider W: I've finished the first six episodes and have been enjoying it so far. I didn't realize it would be so funny though. I wasn't expecting something dark and edgy, but this one seems almost like KR Ghost with all the mugging from the supporting cast. I'm sticking with this one, so KR Kiva will have to wait. |

Agito 49
Hikawa bringing up doppelgangers at this point seems overly convenient, I gotta say. He's not wrong, obviously, but there has been all of zero reasons for him to start thinking along these lines. If they'd been able to reach one of these suicides and they whispered something cryptic with their last breaths, sure, go wild. At this point though it's literally him going "well lotsa scorpios are dying, guess doppelgangers are involved." Not the best writing this show has seen. Also god friggin dammit police, what the frig. |

Agito 50
"That would lead to Armageddon, as told in the Bible!" Pfft. It is very rare that a Kamen Rider show actually makes me laugh out loud. I just wish it wasn't because it was being stupid as fuck. Houjou was getting a little better but now it seems the entire police force has acquired his jackass germs. Truly a shame. Also this chef is an asshole. I love how in all these debates neither Ozawa or Hikawa say a single word to Omuro. The universe really just doesn't care about him. Poor guy. Anyway this episode was partly Not Great but the stuff with Shouichi was pretty good. |
Agito 51
Ha ha. For the last episode I was this close to complaining about how it rubbed me the wrong way that Hikawa was just quietly leaving because his superiors told him to. This is better. You good, Hikawa. So Agito just kicks the idly floating Overlord and...rip. The Kamen Rider franchise has seen more exciting climaxes, I gotta say. The G5 thing is a weird non-sequitur tbh. Ozawa is bad at punctuality! Her English could be worse tho. Th...wha...huh??? The...Ozaw...and...Houj...what the fuck? The fuck?? ???? Puppy! With Ryou's luck, I'd say it has about two days left to live, but hey, puppy. Restaurant Agito...sure. Whatever you say, epilogue. Anyway, this...I...dunno? I think Switchblade is right. It feels like the true climax was around when Kino left the stage, and everything after just...happened. Kinda petered out, this season. Kana and Risa don't even get namedropped in this entire episode so it sure doesn't feel like the last 4 episodes were wasted on them or anything... And the police started caring what Ozawa and Hikawa thought again apparently. Sure. Who cares. And...what was the point of the constellation moving again? They don't really.... Ehhhh. Seriously just...weird way to end the show. Season as a whole is pretty good, I guess. Wasn't too sure about it for the first 20 episodes or so, but the second half is solid enough. These last episodes though. Weird. Anyway, that's another Kamen Rider done. My 9th! 10th if we count Amazons so, 9th I guess. I'm doing a new thing now where I only watch 1 show as opposed to like 5, so I guess I'm taking a little break from KR for a bit. Shouldn't take more than a month or so, but until then it'll just be Ghost I suppose (yay...). When I get back to it, the next show on the chopping block is Kamen Rider Black. People say Black is good. Let's hope people is right. |

I'm only 9 episodes deep into Black and I love it. The suit work is glorious too.

Fourze the Movie: Everybody Space Kitaaa!: This was one of the best Kamen Rider movies I've seen. Just the whole angle that they played the Kamen Rider Club was great, to see Ryuusei and Gentarou want to make up for it was awesome. The best part was the entire KRC kicking ass. Miu should have fought more after this whole movie she was kicking butt, so were Kengo and Shun too. Just like with Akumaizer-3 not really happy that the Kyoudain were turned into bad guys but it did turn out for a good fight and story though. Inga was pretty cool and it was interesting to see her ties to Ryuusei and Ryuusei using all he's learned from the KRC to help her. I thought this showcased Gentarou and Ryuusei greatly and I loved Fusion States, that's one of the most badass forms for him. The fights were definitely higher action here because of a movie budget and damn Koichi Sakamoto sure likes his explosions but against all the Zodiarts and even against the Kyoudain it sure was totally awesome. Wizard's first appearance was great he was funny and kick ass. Also, it was great to learn about Daitetsujin 17 too, I love learning more about old Toku shows. Overall one of my favorite movies and the last part of Fourze I didn't see, now I am complete with it and it's one of my favorite series ever.

Drive 33. I really hope this resurrection thing isn't in every single KR series out there, because between Drive and Ghost I'm already sick of it. I know it's used in Fourze, too. Ugh.
Anyways, I really liked type Tridoron, and the whole two personalities thing is pretty cool as well. Also I'm glad to have Gou back and finally be rid of 001. Guess it's time to move onto the final arc, eh? I just hope the other Riders get some power-ups as well. |

Just watched Drive 40. I definitely like where the series is going. However...these Surprise Future tie-in clips at the end of the episode are driving me crazy. I kind of just want to finish watching the series on its own, but I guess the movie takes place next. Should I actually watch the movie, or will I be good to skip out on it?

So I watched Surprise Future. Honestly, I didn't really enjoy most of it. I did, however, enjoy the new forms for Drive, especially Super Dead Heat.
Ghost's appearance was AWESOME. Ghost was the series that really got me into Kamen Rider, but after seeing that scene I'm kind of disappointed - I wish his fights were more like that in the series. |
The first half of the movie was a bit rushed. I liked the second half though. It's no A-Z, but it's still one of the better Kamen Rider summer movies.

Drive 45. Freaking Chase.
