I'm a completist for the most part, I generally draw the line at something I don't like the look of. My normal approach to Kamen Rider is to get the main form of the main Rider, then depending on the quality of the other releases or my level of interest, I buy more. I own all of the Blade figuarts, but only renewal Kabuto for example. My goal is to eventually have all of the main Showa & Heisei Riders, but I think that's what a lot of us would like to do. Things pretty much snowball for me though. You start with one and it just gets easier to buy more after that, lol. That's why I haven't started on Ryuki and Den-O yet, but I will eventually. Gotta get Den-O Sword Form before he goes OOP.

I dont collect riders; I am avoiding that slippery slope lol

I got SHF Blue Beet today, he's great but not perfect. I notice my Blue Beet is having a very hard time standing still.

Mine has the number pad for the Input Magnum glued on crookedly :(

I think the idea of crossover lines from Tamashii is cool. It would be cool if we got S.H MonsterArts X S.H Figuarts Jet Jaguar in the near future. |

I just collect my favorites and all the forms of my favorites. It sucks when OOO and Kuuga are two of your favorites lol. I still haven't been able to get Kyoryu Green sadly. Most of my favorites from Sentai don't have figures so that helps.

How is Blue Beet anyways? I'm still waiting on mine to come in.

I've just opened my Blue Beet so I may as well share my thoughts on him too. Sculpt-wise he's pretty much perfect in every way. The moulding is flawless and the metallic colours look superb (thank god there's no chrome). Same goes for the detailing on the accessories.
There are problems though, both in the QC and the articulation. Like Den-O might has the Input Magnum pad glued on crooked, which kinda sucks but thankfully isn't too noticeable. I've also had trouble balancing mine, but its not the ankles that are the issue, it's that the range on those hips is miniscule. I get that they didn't want to compromise the sculpt with swing-down hips, but he really could have benefitted from the extra bit of motion. |

Mine's flawless in paint, but the hindered articulation in the legs is really disappointing. Makes me feel better about missing out on the rest of the B-Fighters though.

Mark me in the column as one whose BB has flawless paint. The only issues I have are the universal balance and hip articulation.

It's funny; I wouldn't consider splitting a set because I keep the boxes. (Not for display; it's purely about having an organized place to store the itty-bitty accessories.)
Kyoryu Red alone is very inexpensive, and he's a well-executed figure with great accessories. I paid way, WAY too much money for the rest of my Kyoryugers, and I'm happy with them: terrific accessories and MOSTLY perfect hands for those of us who just need to replicate their roll call. The one thing they can't do is their initial roll call pose of arms crossed directly in front of their bodies, but not many Figuarts can do that. I wish he (and the other Kyoryugers) came with a hand for holding the zyudenchi in a "brave in!" pose. The existing hands trouble me: I like that they have the right details for the Kyoryugers, but since they were designed at a slant, bending the wrist straight back is blocked. (The zyudenchi thing is a common Figuart complaint for me; I'd have loved for the Gaim figuarts to have included a hand to hold up a lock seed in the typical "show the audience a lock seed before switching them out" pose.) |
The paint and details on my Blue Beet are perfect as well. I do wish he can stand up better though. That's my biggest flaw with the figure since I didn't want mine to keep on falling down.

Man, this is tempering my desire for Blue Beet. I'll still end up getting him, just that you guys give me the willies with all the stories.
|
Despite one or two flaws of him, he's totally worth it in my opinion.
|
Huh. I totally forgot the explosion effect pieces were shipping this week.

Plus I can make an explosion pretty easily with a cottonball and some dye. |

I know what I would do with them. http://i58.tinypic.com/2nsrmde.gif But I will say that more so than the flame and impact effects, that I would really like a villain to help compliment them, for most Toku anyway. Granted, like the flame and impact sets, they can work well on their own (if to a lesser extent) with characters for just poses, be it a finisher or post hensin. But I would really appreciate having more options, and for me, having something to attack the heroes would help greatly in that regard. Case in point, my ideal use for them would be having rangers held in a "tossed" pose by stands, but the look just isn't the same without a Grifforzer or what have you. That's just my personal nitpick, though. I do however think they'll probably work great with Monsterarts, especially with the damaged buildings they make. The DBZ figures will also probably get some great mileage. |
So I got my Blue Beet in what seems like a year after everyone else.
This is probably some of the best QC I've had in a figuart in a very long time. The biggest issue is like a tiny, tiny, tiny speck of blue on the back of his neck that isn't even noticeable unless you squint really hard from about a centimeter away. And my input pad seems glued on properly as well. On top of that, this figure is absolutely perfect in my eyes. Probably my Top 10 figuarts releases ever. Bring on Black Beet, G-Stag and Reddle! |
I know this isn't recent news or anything, but I was able to get a Gokai Yellow for $60+ shipping. Came in the mail yesterday and looks perfect and was unopened. I don't really want/need her darin though. But I was just stoked that I found her for relatively cheap.
|
The explosion effects are a bit rough looking but I still got them, I was mostly planning to use them for bike action because they totally look like every recent rider bike battle that takes place in a massive empty field.
Also of course they're perfect for after HISSATSU moments. http://shishioh.info/TMASHIIEFFECT_E...ON_Red_Ver.php I'm really looking forward to doing photoshoots and photoshopping lasers in. |
And it looks like my suspicions about Bandai's timing of the recent Drive release bonus pictures were correct: HobbyLinkJapan has Drive up for pre-order again.
|
I'm looking forward to the new effect....not like I'd be able to take a good shot....but I still want them.

Do you guys think if/when Ryuki gets a Shinkochuu Seihou release that we'll get a complete Dragredder or just Vent pieces?
|
Quote:
Likely they'd do what Max Factory did, though, and only include his Vent gear. Which honestly, I wouldn't mind. Much prefer a straight reissue though. |

If they make one, I'd expect it to be years down the road, after Decade, W, Wizard, and OOO. |

The only riders that need renewals in my opinion are Agito, Decade, W, Gatack, OOO (I do think the head needs to be better), Ichigo from The First/The Next and Nigo from The First/The Next. Black, Black RX, Kabuto and Kuuga needed renewals because they are dated as hell and accurate enough in my opinion. |
Ryuki is a complete waste of spot in that line. Current version is damn good already
