Not doing Gaim and Zangetsu's eyes?
That Chalice is loooovely, holy wow; might have to look into getting him at some point. Does the box come with two Riotroopers or did you pick up an extra? ||||mO |

Might seem a strange place to put this since this thread is mostly about figures, but I figured it was the best place since it is still a candy toy and was even featured in the last blog:
Hyper Detail Gear https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...1128074954.jpg Basically, mini Rider belts. It's a line that apparently had a couple waves in 2016 but promptly disappeared after that, and they've just released a third one out of nowhere now consisting of the ones above. Like SO-DO, they're all normal retail and about 500 yen a box! It just seems a really nice display option, and these new ones even have a couple gimmicks involved -- the Zero-One Driver in particular is VERY impressive! https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...1128100313.png https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...1128075008.gif They're also using a lot of clear parts similar to other recent candy toy lines and they're a very fun display for putting next to figures. Hoping they make more waves of this; I'm already interested in picking up Saber, Gaim and Zero-One's! https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...1127175911.jpg |
Yeah, I saw a video of those on a candy toy channel. Only disappointment is that the Swordriver doesn't have any functionality. You just remove the hilt, the rest of the sword is permanently inserted
|
I have some old gashapon Rider Devices that look to be almost the same size (maybe smaller), but I love that these have a little display stand.
I need to track down the Kabuto ones. They look like the size of actual beetles! |

I remember seeing these pop up on BBTS, but they were way too much for me to justify if I recall.
If they start doing riders they missed, though, I might have to cave at some point. |

I think the pb set was artisan or something. |
The candy toy stuff is incredibly hard to sell outside of Japan. The margins are super thin compared to figures and statues. They were really designed to be impulse buy and promotional stuff with inherent collectability (blind boxes, chase figures, sold as box sets etc) - all things that don't translate well when being brought over as import toys.
That being said, they've gotten so good now and many view them as outright collector's pieces which can sometimes be more rare than a Figure or DX toy. I hope Bandai can figure something out because the candy toy division is doing some amazing thigs right now. |
Dang, those actually do look really cool. Wonder how well they work when displayed with a Figuart?

The first real sign of success has come from Gundam G-Frame Candy toys being picked up by Target (like SODO, they require 2 boxes to complete a single main figure)
Whether that will continue remains to be seen. And of course, that is Gundam, which is much much more popular in west than Kamen Rider. But hey, Bluefin has made huge strides in Kamen Rider presence in just this past year alone. |
Yeah, they have, but it still seems like it'll be a while till rider is able to cement it's brand recognition into the minds of the western masses. Anime took like 20 years and gave gundam an easy in to the western market when bluefin brought it. If they continue to boost riders presence, we have a good shot at seeing shodo or sodo, but it will take a bit

Anyone getting Book 2 and don't want Naki?

Yu-Do figures
Is there a thread for the Yu-Do figure line (Super Sentai) to post my treasures?
https://i.ibb.co/GMMfZGT/yudo-patranger01-small.jpg |
That'd fall into this thread too, I believe.
Either that or there are channels to post figures and stuff for Sentai. |
(Double posted for some reason)

That's a wrap on SO-DO Kamen Rider Saber!
https://i.imgur.com/Gonjfhy.jpg https://i.imgur.com/MFJG6P3.jpg https://i.imgur.com/iI3Eas0.jpg Compared to Zero One, everything seems to be an improvement, from parts staying on better, to molding, to articulation. There was minimal painting applied on my behalf. Metallic red to the belt, wonder ride book, and sword hilt. Silver all over the sword. I cut up the sword sticker to sit better inside the sword itself and kept the sword emblem as a round sticker, not wanting to paint the gold emblem, but I might do that eventually. SO-DO Saber is a pretty good looking figure. I have Gaim ordered and if Saber is any indication of what's to come for that figure, SO-DO is looking amazing! |
So I'd never looked at Ninningames before, but I see they have some amazing deals on P-Bandai So-Do stuff. A lot of people seem to talk about ninningames lately, but I've never used them before. Is there a catch?
|
The swordsman of SO-DO, including all 3 Reiwa riders.
https://i.imgur.com/BEvZI9T.jpg Nin-nin-game is kinda weird. I am almost certain their business model revolves around taking pre-orders and then sourcing them. Sometimes I get pre-orders right on release, other times it can take weeks to ship something that shows as "in-stock" on their website. Either way, they aren't a scam site that will take your money. You're protected through paypal, but just be diligent on keeping track of any pre-orders you've placed with them. I'm not sure if I would recommend them as a place to lock-down something you think will become extremely rare or sold out later. |
Right now NNG is becoming my replacement for PB pre-orders; so I shouldn't be using them too much at least.
|
So, since we're talking about NinninGame (and I need a short break from a very long Kabuto response), a quick question for y'all.
I was looking over their site after Fredbob shouted them out, and I saw that they've got the SHODO-X 10 box for pretty cheap. I really just want the two Kabuto figs and the accessory box, so I'm wondering a) does anyone know what the case breakdown is for that wave; and b) does anyone in the US have any interest in the Super-1 boxes, or any duplicate Kabuto ones? With shipping, that case comes out to 50-some bucks, so being able to offload five or six boxes would make it a lot more reasonable to order. |

I recommend NNG for unreleased pre-orders and clearly in-stock items. |

This week! We have:
Saber Triple Book Form! https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...1204174806.jpg https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...1204174841.jpg They have him on the scales - he's a heavy boy! https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...1204193931.jpg We have a bunch of Wave 2 Promo, PB Energy Riders promo, and some of those new fancy belts! https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...1204181507.jpg https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...1204181551.jpg |

Nothing overly interesting this week, so can I just say holy shit these art pieces are amazing
https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...1204140501.jpg https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...1204134459.jpg |
Yeah, the shitajiki blind art packs are great. Some excellent pieces in every wave. They are just a pain in the ass to find stateside.
And of course sabers three book form is heavy. He's red, that mean 3x the speed, 3x the power, and 3x the weight |
So! Question.
Dragonic Knight. https://i.imgur.com/1VmCByw.png Compared to just being in the transformation sequence and the OP, the Brave Dragon now gets to be an actual thing Saber can ride -- and is almost the entire point of Dragonic Knight as a form; and is an extremely prominent part of all associated merch so far. Here's the question: will we see the Brave Dragon as part of the same wave as Dragonic Knight, as part of the standard Mechanics wave that contains the mech and bike, or will they forgo it altogether? |
Honestly, I would prefer a King of Arthur robot set, but Brave Dragon would make more sense.
|
I'd love to have a figure of the dragon, it's a great design and I'm happy it's starting to have an actual role in the show
|
Dragons are popular, I can see them doing this. It might be PB, but better than nothing.

Decided to put NNG aside till after the holidays and I've had some time to recover monetarily, but after that, I think I've really gotta go all in on P-Bandai So-Do Kuuga. It's just the Rising Forms, N-Daguva-Zeba, and the first bike/Gouram pack. Other than the bike pack, it's all pretty low prices. I'd love go justify skipping the bike, I probably will if I ever go back to Zi-O, but Godai actually used his bike every episode, so it feels essential. Then again, there's a good chance they don't go back and make the Den Bird (Was that Den-O's bikes name?) or Decade's bike, and the So-Do Riders never have a complete set of main Rider bikes, at which point I'd rather just have no bikes. Sorry, kind of thinking out loud there
|
I'm personally waiting on SHODO doing Kuuga, since they already done one of the Grongi. They'd do one of the bikes, and I feel there's a good chance we'd see a P-Bandai set of Ultimate vs. Daguva eventually.
Not sure what the Kuuga wave would look like. I could see them doing all four forms, but I could also see them doing Mighty, Amazing Mighty and then a couple other Riders from Ex-Aid or Gatack something. |
