Tendou is very much hit or miss. Either his actions are endearing and humorous to those around him, or he's a complete asshat with no likable personality traits.
Kagami though. Kagami is the one I liked. |
You know who Kabuto is?
He's the world's most perfect villain rider. He is the foil for the real main rider who doesn't exist, one who needs to overcome the adversity set in place by said villain rider and eventually defeat him in the ultimate test of his skill and courage. Only that character doesn't exist. Not even Gattack who seems to be that character at a glance but isn't. But seriously, Kabuto as a villain would be an utterly dispicable human being and a great villain if they gave him solid motivation. Instead he is one of the most repulsive heroes, nay characters I have ever had the misfortune of being exposed to. Even his rider kick is pretentious and cocky. Turning his back to an enemy and waiting until they themselves dive in to be killed. If he ever fought a villain with brains he'd be screwed. I liked Kagami, but if the only reason to watch the show is a non-powered character who takes a millenia to even get the chance to fight, I'm not sticking around. It's like if G3 didn't have the armour. Yeah he's okay, but he doesn't really do anything for a long ass time. |
Actually, since Kabuto screws around and agitates his enemies, it makes sense that they'd be angry enough to do something like that.
If he ever fights a villain who can keep calm, then he might be screwed. |
Like I said, any villain with a brain. If his enemies are stupid enough to feed that festering troll they deserve to die. Maybe he's just bug darwinism incarnate? But did we really need a show devoted to that?
Kabuto is one of those things where I really have to stress the "my opinion" thing because I know a lot of people like it and think it's great, but I just can't see the entertainment value in it. I'm not saying they shouldn't, just that I can't. There's seriously, like, nothing aside from the suits and one character that's fun to watch about that show. The fights are poor, the cast, by and large, is forgettable and what's left isn't that likable, and I stuck around for about twenty or so episodes, (got through about 10 before giving up, went back and got some more done before calling it ultimate quits) I'm gonna say 25 because I specifically remember hititng the halfway point and still not being impressed, and I can honestly say aside from some new riders showing up and not doing a hell of a lot, I couldn't really tell you what happened. I don't even think there was a main villain, just random bugs with no clear or sensical goal. |

So I'm watching Den-O trilogy Episode red, and this whole story with Yuuto has hit me right in the feels. But, uh, there's some weird things going on, like Kintaros, um... mounting Momotaros when he's recovering from his bad back.
I mean, I know this is from Japan but... |
