I'll agree with Split. Den-O was ridiculously popular, so they decided to just...Not end it.
You said New Den-O does nothing for you, so does that mean you're not watching Episode Blue?

Anyway, Yusuke is the one who does most of the work before Kaito shows up. He gets tagged as useless, but he's actually one of the best characters in the entire series.

Ooh, good! Lots of people are put off by Blade through combination of it's first 10 episodes and his design. It's a great series and I hope you enjoy it!

Yuuske only ever gets the name Yuuseless from original Kuuga fans who think he's an embarrassment. I actually quite like him and he really comes into his own later.

As for the Chou Den-O Trilogy I was losing my mind when they announced those. Yes Final Countdown was the end of the main Den-O story but it's not as though the characters died or lost their powers or anything. Why not write more stories? W fanboys lose their shit every time the Ren Kiriyama and Masaki Suda come back as W and those are just cameos.

Takeru Satoh had other acting gigs he wanted to pursue, I mean he eventually landed Ruroni Kenshin! That's saying something. Does it suck that he couldn't continue playing the character? Sure. But young Ryutaro did a fine job and in more recent films where Momotaros basically is Den-O I'm just as happy.

It's been a while since I've seen the trilogy but I loved it to death. Seeing my favorite rider series return for 3 films was like a dream come true. And even though it was more about New Den-O seeing the character get double billing for the 40th anniversary film Let's Go Kamen Riders was even more awesome to me. Why shouldn't Toei have capitalized on Den-O's wild popularity?

Capitalizing on it's popularity was giving it 3 movies.

Imperor was my favorite Ryuki design. Very streamlined, with a unique mask and an interesting contract beast.

He had a horrible design, pretty bland contract monster, was horrible as a civilian, and sucked miserably as a rider. The only character I hate more than him is Tiger. But I hated Imperor so much. Just wait a couple episodes and you won't have to worry about him.

But the starring actor was gone.

Because W hasn't yet overstayed it's welcome. (and I don't think the return of Accel/Eternal movies were very good at all) W, the rider, hasn't had a movie devoted to himself after the series ended. Only crossovers. Den-O has had FIVE movies where he's the star. Den-O doesn't have any story left to be told, and the amount of stuff happening out of nowhere is getting repetative. If they were really good movies I wouldn't mind, but they feel like overly long episodes. In fact I could have sworn we already had a story where Denliner loses control because of an Imagin.

I'm glad you're happy, I'm just saying Den-O should've gone out with a bang instead of just peetering out like this. It deserved a proper climax.

I'm not saying they shouldn't have. Just that they could have, and should've, done better. I'm a huge Den-O fan too man, and while I have the advantage of watching these without large time gaps, I was very happy when I found out how much Den-O lasted after the final episode aired. But to just keep going when they clearly have no story left to tell and nothing left to do with the characters it's just... kind of insulting. I mean, I'm a huge fan of Kintaros and Axe form, and I'm lucking if I see him show up for a second of non comic-relief. Same for anyone who's not Momotaros it seems. Ryoutaro as a character got screwed over by being turned into a child, regardless of the real-world reasons behind it. Zeronos is gone too, it just seems like the world is falling apart. I would've liked to have the series just ended with a happy ending instead of Yuuto's kind of soul-crushing downer and Ryoutaro turned into a child. It's a disservice to the characters and I don't like it.

I still really, really want to watch Let's go Kamen Riders since OOOs is in it, but I can't find it on youtube in English.

I thought I admitted it when I shared my thoughts on All Riders...but yeah, he totally is.

Tiger sucks, but he served an excellent purpose.
That purpose being getting the amazing beatdown he got from Ouja in the last episode I watched :D

I like the card theme, and his design. I read lots of the descriptions and this one interested me. Also I saw the trailer for Kamen Rider Battride War that gave me a good look at a lot of them.
