At least it's not the new movie versions of the TMNT. I'm glad that they went with the 80's version of the turtles.

Official page for Bowser is up already.
He doesn't have elbows or knees. That is an incredible buzzkill. :( |

That's very disappointing. I would have preferred having some articulation in the elbows and knees, even if it meant breaking fluidity. The distracting seam lines on the legs, the lacking articulation, and the rather small size, makes this a pass for me. Don't get me wrong, the sculpt is incredibly nice, but I really think they could have done an overall better job. We've seen them do better. |
Yeah, that's really disappointing about Bowser. He seems to be in a kind of weird place between a regular Figuarts and a Figuarts Zero. Guess I'll be passing on him.
As for the Turtles, it's a cool surprise but I doubt I'll be picking them up. This does make me hope Shredder is somewhere down the line though, I'd definitely be interested in that. |
I wish they made Bowser into a S.H MonsterArts, but oh well.

Ninja Turtles: Cool but pass
Bowser: Will wait for review |
I will buy the TMNT figuarts. It makes sense to do the original cartoon versions as figuarts since the original show was popular in Japan. I have no idea how popular the other versions where in Japan, the original TMNT show did very well for a western animated show in Japan. Most western animated shows in Japan rarely do that great. The original TMNT was popular enough in Japan that it spawn it's own OVA and exclusive toyline in Japan.

I'm surprised Bowser isn't an SHF Zero.

Out of all of the versions of Ninja Turtles to choose from, they got with THOSE?! Ugh.
Bowser looks cool but what is up with the lack of articulation? I wish they would show off some new MonsterArts or some actual DBZ stuff that is going to come out in a reasonable timeframe. |
You do know that the original toon versions of TMNT are the most famous and iconic version right? In Japan, they are probably more well known then the other versions. Not to mention, in the US ans the rest world remembers the original TV show and the 90's movies over the other versions.
