I'm beginning to wonder if the final evolutions won't be revealed until the game's release. That's too long to go!
|
I wanted sigilyph ever since it was leaked, although at the time it was more because i thought unown evolved into it.

Watched the battle from Pokemon smash the other day.
Main things I took away from it: Looks beautiful still. Like stupidly good. Weather effects constantly happen, as in it doesn't rain in between turns but a rain effect plays continuously. If a pokemon uses a berry it actually has a little animation of it eating it. Ryhperior is still freaking cool! so yeah little things impress me =p |

Rhyperior was always kind of cool. It's a shame it sucked so hard :lol
|
For many of us, I know we're still making up our minds, but which starter are you leaning towards? Just for fun, let us know what you wanted earlier and if you changed your mind, why.
For me, when they were first announced, I really wanted Froakie. Everyone was crazy into Fennekin and Chespin and poor Froakie got sidelined. Now with their evolutions revealed suddenly everyone wants Froakie because Frogadier looks cool. Quilladin became the butt of jokes. I personally think Quilladin is the most adorable thing, so I've swung over to Chespin. Maybe I'm just a sucker for underdogs? What about you guys? |
I wanted Chespin, but I can't stand Qualladin's design. Now I'm just waiting for final forms to be revealed to see whether or not I should stick with Chespin.
That, and everyone is going apeshit over Fennekin, so I'm tired of seeing the thing. |

Gen 1: Charmander Gen 2: ??? Gen 3: Torchic Gen 4: ??? Gen 5: ??? |
Well, I'm usually more the plant starter type, but Chespin... I didn't like it from the start. I guess I'd go with Fennekin, despite that being mainstream, but I just have a thing for everything dog- or fox-like and I'm more into fire types, rather than water types. Not that I don't like Froakie, it's so adorable!
|
I've never had an affinity towards any one type in particular. Recently, I've been rolling with Grass starters mainly because I liked their designs the best.
Chespin was no different...Then I saw Qualladin... |
Ah, generally, I choose starters which I like design-wise, but I usually like the plant/grass-types most. In Gen1, it's Bulbasaur (even though I chose Squirtle back in the day, but then again, taste changes over the years), in Gen2 it was Chikorita, which is my favorite Pokémon in general, and in Gen5 I chose Snivy. I had Torchic in Gen3, but Treecko would have been my second chose (No, I don't liek Mudkips xD).
Gen4 had the only plant/grass-starter I didn't like so far (I had a Piplup there) but then again, Gen4 is also my least favorite generation overall. |
Aww, I absolutely adored Turtwig and Torterra :lol
Then again, I liked Gen 4 (Gen 3 is my personal least favorite). But I've always just picked who I liked the most, with no rhyme or reason beyond "He looked cool." Charmander, Totodile, Treeko, Turtwig, and Snivy. I tended to get other starters when playing one of the other games, but that's who I picked first. And don't worry. I don't like Mudkips, either :p |

I really really liked Gen 4 as a whole as well though so I might be a tad biased =p |
I'm mixed on the additional evolutions that Gen 4 gave us.
Some were badly needed and helped otherwise useless Pokemon (Gliscor, Honchkrow, Ambipom, Mamoswine, Togekiss) while some were just weird alterations (Lickilicky) and a few seemed pointless (Electivire & Magmortar). |
The Gen 4 evos tend to fall on the positive with me.
Mainly because it gave two of my top 10 Pokemon of all time upgrades (Magnezone and Porygon-Z), and it gave me Megayanma. I love Megayanma. |

Plus with the free Torchic thing, that would be one fire starter too many. |

Lickilicky and Tangrowth, though... Yeah, they were definitely very hit-or-miss, yet I can't say I wouldn't have liked something for all of them. |

Also somebody (that I'm going to assume isn't a reviewer, due to amounts of trouble he'd get in) has some how got hold of X and is slowly putting pictures on Instagram. Whilst he hasn't shown anything major yet, it's probably only a matter of time... Question is will GameFreak find him before my curiosity gets the better of me and I spoil everything for myself =p |
I've been trying to avoid leaks and only view official announcements.
|
It seems Canada has put X & Y up for sale in some stores.
Since this still counts as a leak, I'd strongly suggest people avoid posting any new details that may be considered spoiling any fans waiting for the official release date and/or ownership of the games. |

This was revealed through the official Nintendo sources so I don't think it needs spoiler tags.
Charizard has TWO Mega Evolutions. http://i.imgur.com/mnhvq2E.jpg SO glad I chose X. |
I'm getting Y, which sucks because I much prefer the X one. Especially since Serebii are reporting is as fire/dragon.
But what irks me about this is though is the same is likely to be true for Blastoise and Venusaur, so I now have absolutely no idea if I'll get the Mega Blastoise I wanted. |

Motherfuckerrrrrr.
That form is so much cooler... Stupid Y. First it got shafted with the Mega Mewtwo form, now the starters too? |
Wow thats the first time I've ever had a pokegasm. Dangit why are all the cooler Mega evolutions and pokemon in X when I chose Y. :cry
|
Dang, same boat here... Ordered Y but like X pokes better. Serves me right for picking based on a legendary =p
Potential Leak spoilers: one of the leakers mentioned he was given charizardite X last night before any of this was announced, so this was expected on my end. No other leakers have mentioned receiving Venusaurite X/Y or Blastoiseite X/Y only Venu/blastite so it looks like Charizard might just be getting prefferential treatment. However I cant confirm this, but I've not seen anything to suggest otherwise either. |

My thoughts exactly.
This has got me thinking though, I ordered my copy from GAME and in the past they've shipped the games early enough to get to me a day early, so hopefully ill get it next friday. If not, im gonna download X off of the eShop at midnight and just return/trade in Y when it arrives. Oh and for those wanting to avoid spoilers, the embargo lift date seems to be the 4th as IGN's review goes live then, so expect it to get worse from there. |
Based on searching around online communities, I may really be the only one who prefers Mega Charizard Y? C'mon, anyone else? :D
|
I still prefer Mega Charizard Y in terms of actual design but Mega Charizard X is hella cool as well. I love the color scheme and the fact it might be Fire Dragon.
|
Still rolling with X because I want a Xerneas.
|
That form...convinced me to keep my desire for X :lol
http://www.serebii.net/xy/charizardx.pngVShttp://www.serebii.net/xy/charizard.png? I choose X! Also, spoiler of Fennekin's final form- http://24.media.tumblr.com/4622b879f...wj7eo1_500.jpg |
Eh. Could be better but still definitely my choice.
