Both numerous and specific. I'm not sure I could obfuscate the details enough in making points to keep from spoiling people. Some bits of it are the same issues people feel plague Moffat's tenure as showrunner, to be as broad as possible. Although I will share one of the Doctor's lines that rubbed me the wrong way as it in no way gives away plot points.

Okay, I think I get a feel for it. Why, Moffat, WHY? This is why we change showrunners with new Doctors!

My interest in the new series is at an all-time low, with Peter Capaldi's performance being the only thing I am looking forward to. Because everything else around him will be the same. :(

I'm with you there. It very clearly feels like series 7. I know it takes time to switch gears and that the writers claim to just write for the Doctor, but there are some patterns of speech and dialogue that seem tailor-made for Matt's portrayal as well as the usual crammed down your throat, long-range big mysteries.

I guess we can wait until the 13th Doctor makes an appearance. :lol

Goddamn it Moffat. Stop ruining such a historic character already. I tolerated series 5, I hated series 6, I hated a majority of series 7. Aside from a handful of episodes and Day & Time of The Doctor I can't think of anything that moron has contributed to the franchise that would endear him to me. A showruner change needs to happen. Then he can just do Sherlock and I'll hate him substantially less.

It's funny, I adored Series 5, but Series 6 was a quick turn around. I mean, I liked it, but not like Series 5 was. Series 7, I watched all, it was okay, but not very memorable. I did love the 50th Special a lot, though.

Its by no means a masterpiece - having some very clear influences from other stories and (by the sound of it) relying quite a lot on the visuals, but its an interesting Dalek story that doesn't character assassinate them like Asylum did.

Yes I've read some of them. I have to say I'm not very impressed by any of them though I agree with Zeo the Dalek episode shows promise.

Over 2000 years? He was ~900 for most of the show, then 1200 after the Lake Silence events, and then he aged another 300 years in Night of the Doctor. Where'd the extra 500+ years come from?

Speaking specifically of the trailer, the CGI still looks bad and Capaldi's attempts to stifle his accent aren't nearly as convincing as Tennant's were but what I will say is Jenna Louise Coleman is near profoundly gorgeous and I'd follow that into the Doctor's grave or whatever the fuck happened in the last season. Did that even happen? I swear its not been mentioned again since. Steven Moffat lol

It looks like so far the content of that gif is all that can be confirmed for episode two. Maybe they didn't manage to grab everything when they had the chance. I'm remaining hopeful, however. I absolutely agree on Jenna. Ben Wheatley gave us a number of lovely close-ups of her in episode one. :)

Capaldi sort of sounds part-time Scottish to me. It's clear he's sort of using his natural accent (and it's commented on directly that he's Scottish now) but I can't shake the feeling it's been curbed dramatically for people who can't penetrate dialogue that stilted. (Certain segments of America, for example.)

Maybe it's because I'm English and I know Scots but Capaldi doesn't sound Scottish in the least. Compare that to this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=al7XJxlDoyQ it doesn't sound like he has an accent at all, just a weird awkward blend of American English and his own accent being strangled.

It comes out during the episode periodically, but never as pronounced as his normal accent. It's there, sometimes and other times not, but when the accent does make an appearance it's almost ridiculously, and sadly, subdued. I hope it gets thicker as the series progresses, though I don't really expect it to.

It doesn't help that whatever accent he's trying doesn't sound good at all. Tennant's Who accent was so convincing it always shocks me a little when you see him slip back into his natural accent. And so although it annoys me he had to subdue a natural, attractive, accent at least he made something of it. Going by the trailer Capaldi just doesn't.

No, I agree, but I think the poor guy is being hobbled by either the production staff or someone at Worldwide who is worried about selling it with a heavy accent. Be Scottish, I imagine he might have been told, but don't be Scottish.

Edit: I guess, basically what I'm saying is that we know Capaldi can more skillfully manipulate his accent than he is showing so far in Who. So I think the problem is likely either in direction (which I doubt with Wheatley) or the putting their oar in from someone higher up the food chain.
