I've always wanted to play the Professor Layton games, which would someone say is the best to start with?
And for me: Day 7 on Devil Survivor, Naoya's route. I just beat Jezebeel and Bishamon. |

So, apparently someone made a mod for Minecraft that transforms it into the Helheim Forest. To quote badhoc:

Only thing is that it's in Japanese, but I might want to check this out. |

Just finished the main Dishonored campaign, it feels short by this day and ages standards and although there are multiple ways to discover and play levels 'playing it again' shouldn't be an excuse for a shorter run time.
That said, longer doesn't necessarily mean better and I can attest that having more focused locations allowed greater design, and more fascinating navigation. Sandboxes are great, but Rapture is still the best in game location ever and that was almost entirely linear, and you can see Bioshock was a huge inspiration for this game. The final battle around and up a lighthouse feels very much like Bioshock and Infinite got smashed together. In terms of an actual game, powers were limited but all were useful so once again, I guess it proves more isn't better. Would ten more upgrades been worth it if you never use any of them? Of course not. At its core it's a stealth title, but the stealth is clunky and hard to manage. The use of Blink certainly makes it more entertaining but I just found the patterns and layouts difficult to grab on the fly - which may be the point - but I still remembered how I'd clear a whole room full of enemies before they saw me in Skyrim on my first try, and personally Skyrim was a pretty punishing game at times. So I was dumbfounded by the amount of times I'd have to start over in this before I started playing with Chaos in mind because playing as a pacifist was a pain in the arse. And considering Chaos is both much more fun to play, and something the game basically absolves you of, even with the heavy pacifistic storytelling all the way through, I really don't know why you wouldn't just murder everyone in your path. Overall then, for a casual gamer like myself, this probably wasn't made for us in mind. And if you've never played the first BioShock or BioShock Infinite...you have little reason to play this either. But if you are a hardcore gamer, and have finished the BioShock duo (no two doesn't exist lalalala) then you might get a lot out of this, as this is less about being a rich 120 hour long epic and more about being an obsessive completionists worst nightmare as you attempt to find every nook, cranny, route through a level, way to get past guards/take them down and all the trinkets hidden through each level. And for you that'll probably be a lot of fun. |

Kingdom Hearts ReChain of Memories HD
Got through 3 worlds and beat all of the bosses on the first try. For a "proud" mode, this shit is easy. Now in Hollow Bastion. The card system is feeling better but I still don't like it. Borderlands Man this game is annoying, I tried to complete this one story quest for a piece of the vault key and the final guy killed me so many times that I lost half of my money by the time I decided to quit. I haven't played this in awhile either, so all of the guns feel off for some reason. |
I got the GOTY edition of Dishonored and excitedly dug into the DLC...only to find 'The Trials of Dunwall' was literally that, it's just the user created content missions from games like inFamous (which were free and included) only sold separately and made entirely by the devs. I'm so glad I didn't buy this separately as I would be so pissed if this is what I got.
|
Finally picked Metroid Prime back up after 2 months, beat the first level and moved on to the Chozo Ruins. I forgot how beautiful this game is.
|
Okay so the next piece of DLC is way more like it, allowing you to play as Daud in unique missions which are running alongside the main story. It's sadly not nearly as well designed as the core game, leading to some unnecessary frustration but I'm sure it'll appeal to those who love the core game.

Been playing Skylanders Swap Force lately, absolutely love the characters in this, and intriguing storyline.

May have slammed into a progress blocking glitch on Knife of Dunwall. If anyone has played this game I could super use your help.
I'm on the first mission and it requires you to turn four vales, there is a time limit between the third and fourth valve and if you don't do it in time the mission fails. I get all that. Weird thing is, I do turn the fourth valve a big green tick on my screen appears, my new objectives begin flashing on the screen, the game saves...then the screen goes grey and it says Game Over? Was I supposed to leave the guy alive and kill the girl? If that is why I keep failing don't pretend there is a fucking choice then. |

I've been playing through Persona 3 Portable. I just got back from the summer beach trip. It's so much easier to get into this than it was to play through FES. It might just be that reading all that text on the Vita screen is more comfortable than having to lean into my TV. The direct command option also makes Tartarus a lot less of a hassle, so there's that too. Akihiko will be mine.
I've also been playing Gravity Rush here and there. I'm really liking it so far, but I think I'll wait until I'm done with P3P. |
Been playing Max Payne lately and I'm loving it. Also bought Resident Evil Veronica X recently as well. I will soon be buying the guide for it because I have no idea what the fuck I'm doing.

Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine has to be the single most frustrating game I have ever played. And I swear the PC cheats.
Like a cheater. |

Been playing Samurai Siege on my phone. Still trying to get more active players join us so we don't have moochers that does noting in our alliance...

I grabbed two cheap games for my PS3. First is 'The Saboteur' it took me a while to "get it" but once I did, I'm loving the borderline parody story and set of characters, this is a naziploitation movie made into a game. It's a shame this wasn't a higher profile release as I would have loved to see how many people it might have offended.
In terms of the actual game, it's got a beautiful artistic style but as Sean would say, it controls like "arse" still the ridiculous speed of the 1940s cars and all the brawling and shooting from what is presented as a stealth title really fits with the general tone of the game and it's a lot of fun if you play it with ridiculousness in mind. Plus boobs. |

The other game I got was WWE Legends of Wrestlemania. In terms of pure nostalgia the game is AWESOME. It includes a bunch of classic clips, all the classic music and general awesome. Plus, if you like wrestling games, it plays just fine.
The problem is, minus nostalgia, the game really has nothing to it at all. There isn't even a proper single player mode, you just replay classic matches. |

Vectorman (Sonic Genesis Collection), I'm up to Day 10 Superstructure. I forgot how awesome this game is. Especially when you have codes :lol It's fun as all hell though. The platforming there, and the top down scenes are a nice break-up.
|
Holy shit this first part of chapter 4 of Max Payne...can I please get some fucking light so I can see where a door is so I don't get killed by the damn fire?
|
I could never get into that series.

And by back in the day i mean about 2004, i have Sonic mega collection. |
Dusted off my copy of Infamous and...blasted straight through the mission I was stuck on? Pretty much the key to Infamous is to spam your unlimited base lightning attack and keep draining it. You're a permanent fuel source and a permanent health pack. It is honestly not a good game mechanic at all, and is probably gonna make the game get monotonous fast but at least I can play a bit more now.

Finally finished the final boss of DKC:TF.
However, with all the drama I'm going through right now (father helicopter parenting in Washington, mom dealing with tadpole murderers, brother in law not getting paid even through he does work his ass off, helping my niece and on top of having to replace a broken fan along with Matrixbeast criticizing everything I do on here) I'm not feeling happy about it. Never played Midnight Club 3 and thanks to Sentai's warning I never will. Memo to game developers: STOP ADDING RUBBERBAND A.I; NOBODY LIKES IT!!!! |
Was there any need to personally call Matrix out like that?
