Tsuburaya uploaded two new trailers for Ultra Galaxy Fight, one in japanese and one in the english dub
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uFZBKP3HnyM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zNMVQAUGB48 The biggest announcement and surprise from these trailers is that Ultra Galaxy Fight will also have the first live action appearance of Ultraman Ribut. If you don't who Ultraman Ribut is, Ribut, similar Powered and Great before him was created from joint collaboration between Tsuburaya and a foreign company, in this case being Les' Copaque, a Malaysian animation studio. Ribut was created for Les' Copaque CGI children show Upin and Ipin, wherein he appeared in a couple of episodes. Since then, he's shown up in a number of stage shows in Malaysia and has been occasionally acknowledged by Tsuburaya, especially when they have any large showings of all the Ultras. So him being here is a pretty big deal. Now excuse me as I go nuts that this is actually real and not a fever dream AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH |
Ouch, that dub physically hurts :(
Cool stuff I guess... but the dub is just 100% nope. |
I mean, I wanted to support up and coming voice actors, but some of them sounds miscast, like Orb for example.
|
Bahahaha, that English dub. Jesus Christ.
That trailer's got me pretty hype though. |
Yeah that dub was rough, then again I wasn't expecting Shakespearean level voice acting for, what I'm just assuming based on previous Ultra Fights, are a couple of minute long episodes. Still it's nice they're acknowledging there's an English speaking fan base more and more now.
|
I made it to :36 seconds.
Yeah that's a hideous dub and a perfect example of why I hate dubs and prefer to just read the subtitles and hear the original audio track. **shudder** whoo that was bad. hahaha |
There's a lack of a good attack teams.
|
If they want to dub Ultraman, they need to hire a good studio and producers behind it. Big Bang Zoom would be a good choice.

Question, Can Titas and Fuma use the sword as well? I know the new form is exclusive to Taiga and I assumed that the weapon was as well but it looks like they're both holding the sword in the 6th picture.
|
I think it's supposed to be one of those weapon demo scenes like this
https://youtu.be/aveLZB5ON-s Only, instead of just Hiroyuki doing it, each member of the Tri Squad also gets to do it for one of the attacks |

Taiga went from Son of Taro, had a phase and became GARO, and now is cosplaying as Taro with his new Tri-Strium form. :lolol
And in case you missed it in the scans, yes Tri-Strium is the name of his new form. |

Ultra Galaxy Fight episode 1 (FYI, the jp version does have english captions)

It's actually kind of insane who they got for the dub cast. Just to run down some of the highlights.
Ginga is Peter Von Gomm, who did X from Megaman X7 and also the voice of the MegaUlorder from Kamen Rider Ghost Blu and Grigio are voiced by Ryan Drees and Rumiko Varnes, who previously voiced the brother sister duo Prometheus and Pandora from Megaman ZX Advent. In fact, a lot of the people here did voices for X7 and ZX Advent Zero is voiced by Jack Merluzzi, who was Zero in Megaman X7 Rosso is voiced by Jeff Manning, aka the Smash 64 announcer. |
You know I have to say the Dub isn't as bad as I thought it would be tbh. Zero has no right sounding that cool btw.
I'll probably end up watching both purely because this is great that we get both an English Dub and the Japanese with English Subtitles. It feels great that their giving people options. |
Wow..... The dub is actually not that bad, it was actually fine and the voices aren't miscast as I thought. X/Daichi's voice fits him perfectly, and Rosso and Blue makes those two even more hilarious. I actually laughed when both of them said "Intergalactic Defense Force?" at the end.
|
okay that was an interesting beginning, gave just enough to make you want to see what's happening next. And the dub was decent so far. Anybody know how long this is going to be?

Genm Corp sub of Taiga episode 10 is out
https://genmcorp.mangadex.com/ultraman-taiga-10/ |
Their having a premier for episode 2 on youtube link for anybody interested https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LKT67F0DsxQ

Another is that it felt like they're reading translated lines instead of actually voice acting. |
Genm Corp is still trucking along to catch up on Taiga, and they just put out a batch for the first 13 voice dramas. Which means it's the perfect time to find out why Fuma is now dangerously close to supplanting Titas as best Ultraman!

today, Ultraman Ribut makes his first live action debut.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y-pnYOlQ5Yw I'm so happy for him |
This question is for anybody familiar with Ribut. What exactly is that device on his forearm and does it do anything?

I got a feeling if he's popular enough he might get his own Ultra Fight series, or maybe even a Zero-like role in future Ultra series. Quote:

I need a Ribut SHF quick. Make em Tamashii!

So, I re-watched the episode of Ultraman X which served as a "crossover" with Nexus and I am left with at least one nagging question: Why did they even do that episode?
Nexus definitely appears, but a main character for X, Lieutenant Tachibana, becomes Nexus! Did the actress appear in Nexus to justify this, cause it feels super-random! Nexus is supposed to be a darker-than-average series, and not something you want to nod to as heavy-ish as they did! |

Man, the Nexus episode of X is so good. X is so good...
Ultra Galaxy Fight has been fun so far. Ribut's debut was pretty cool. |
I caught up on Ultraman Taiga a little. Episode 10 is a masterpiece. OMG it's so good, just an all around beautiful story. Plus the voice drama episodes detailing Fuma's origin? What the hell Tsuburaya, what is it with you constantly pumping out 11/10's when all you need is like a solid 5 to sell your toys. I love you guys so much.

I miss the great attack teams like GUTS. I wish in Reiwa era had more of them.

I mean, what the f***. That little trilogy is honestly my favorite thing to come out of Taiga, period, so far. And considering how amazing the actual show is, that's REALLY saying something. |

Ribut is basically Captain America. I just love how he's an Ultraman who is specifically made for rescue jobs. Tsuburaya I want a Ribut miniseries already! Also does anybody noticed that the OG Ultraman himself never had any supporting role in these Ultra Fights? Leo, Astra and Ace had one in Victory, Zoffy, Jack and Seven does for Orb, and Taro is one here. Ultraman, 80 (because apparently 80 is a stepchild :P ) and Mebius never had any supporting appearances. Maybe they'll have one someday, since 2020 will be 80's 40th anniversary and 2021 is the franchise's 55th. |
