What if PR have the same tone from Arrow ?

I remember reading that David Yost was twenty-four when cast. Amy Jo Johnson and Walter Jones were twenty-two, Thuy Trang was nineteen and Austin St. John was the youngest at seventeen. Jason David Frank was twenty.

That would cool.. Depends on the network and would they still keep running the "kiddish" episodes as well? My kids are into Power Rangers now so they enjoy the shows. While I've been a fan since 93 and grew up with Mighty Morphin, I still watch PR till this day! As an adult now I would also love a more serious tone. That's why I'm excited for the movie, the darker tone. At heart I'm still a kid though.

We had Power Ranger shows with a serious tone before like with Time Force and RPM. Time Force had a serious story but still had goofy humor here and there. I think the tone of the movie won't be super dark and serious. I hope for a similar tone that Godzilla 2014 had. That movie had a serious story and tone but it was not super dark and serious. Kids can go see the movie and enjoy it.

Since we got a JLA vs. Power Rangers comic book crossover, what comic book crossovers would you guys like to see next? I would like to see BOOM and IDW to do a Ninja Turtles and Power Rangers crossover.

Avengers crossover would be awesome.

The characters are so different, despite the suits being the same. It's like those fun alternate reality stories where they meet different versions of themselves.

Power Rangers v Voltron Legendary Defender. It could work with SPD, easily enough. The classic mistaking the hero for a villain before uniting against the real enemy trope. But if it has to be the current MMPR version of the comics? I agree with the Avengers. Just to watch Stark try and build a Megazord-Buster armor.

What if Saban make a partnership with Toei to create a original season and footage ?

I guess it is possible if the Super Sentai shows do take a long break similar to what happen with Kamen Rider Black RX.

There are two "decent" possibilities as to how this would work:

- Have a team crossover with Gorenger! The first Super Sentai is a likely candidate and there is some Gokaiger footage that could be used to help supplement the need! You would have to get some dub actors to cover, but it would be fun and would show to those kids who inadvertently saw Gorenger on the PR Action Card Game: "See, this is where they came from!" It would be better to have them team-up with PR than have PR try to incorporate them into their Universe outright (cause any Gorenger adaptation would be abysmal)! Plus, the idea of using Gorenger means a justification for BoA making 5 in. figures for use state-side, and it would technically be the original Gorenger team either way! Also, DX American Variblune that IS NOT Zord-Builder!!!!! Just saying!!!!!

- "Explain" the chaos that was Megaforce! One thing they could have changed, but lazily did not was the use of Goseiger names on the Power Cards! If Sentai and PR are alternate dimensions of one another, then a minor explanation of secret collaborations between Gosei and Master Head could be used to justify what they originally failed to do!

Best and worst? I'd say Time Force and RPM for best, and...I guess Super Megaforce for worst.

Those 2 series I call best because they're rather different from other Ranger shows (Within reason. Hammy acting and some rather silly episodes is just something you can't avoid). I do wish I could go into full detail, but I just don't have any energy right now.

There was an episode in the second season of Akibaranger involving extremely exaggerated caricatures of Power Rangers. It's not much of a crossover given it was between the "unofficial" Sentai and these two guys:

I mean, the fandom standbys for best are usually, at least in my experience:

- In Space for quality, serialized writing, and for wrapping up over half a decade of continuity in pretty memorable fashion.

- Time Force for quality, serialized writing, and for being an effective direct(ish) translation of what seems to be a likewise well regarded Sentai.

- RPM for being extremely different and unique, offering a take on PR that was simultaneously darker, more irreverent, and totally fresh.

And of course for the bad:

- Turbo for... well I think in light of more recent seasons a lot of the weight has been taken off Turbo's shoulders, but nonetheless, most people find it poorly written, between things like Sentai footage clashing with the tone and awkwardly replacing most of the cast partway through. Of course, nowadays I think you're pretty likely to hear "Turbo was crap, except for the second half with the new cast", so this really isn't as clear cut as it used to be.

- Wild Force for being an ineffective direct translation of a Sentai most seem to consider underwhelming in the first place. Also it had bad acting.

- Operation Overdrive for general incompetence.

- Super Megaforce for general incompetence that borders on actively flipping the audience off at times.

Personally, I don't have much of an attachment to In Space, and haven't seen more than a few random episodes of RPM, so Time Force gets my vote for best. As for worst, not having seen Operation Overdrive, I think it's Super Megaforce. I honestly can't imagine Overdrive being worse that SMF anyway. It's really kind of garbage, even though I also kind of like it.

Would the Disney Era PR shows have work on Disney Channel instead of airing on the ABC Kids block and Jetix? I remember the Disney Channel was huge in the early-mid 2000's and they did had a few action shows like Kim Possible. I remember that people felt like Disney did a bad job on marketing their PR shows and most people didn't know that the new PR shows was airing on TV.

They could've worked. PR has always been about action and humor.
Disney just didn't want it :lol

I remember that American Dragon had both action and humor. So did Kim Possible. I think their PR shows would have got better ratings and toy sales on the normal Disney Channel back then.

Exactly. PR had everything Disney was wanting during that era.
Disney just didn't want anything to do with it.

And now Disney channel is pretty much nothing but live-action shows too.

IIRC, technically they didn't wanted in the first place and were only contractually obligated to keep it after acquiring Fox Family and its subsidiaries.

I don't think they were required to keep it. They only obtained it in the purchase. They could've sold it any time once the purchase was completed.
They continued filming and airing it because someone was able to convince Disney that they could decrease cost while still making a profit (Hence the New Zealand move).
They got sick of it come RPM, and then only sold it after they basically said they were done (Hence the repurposed MMPR)

They do but in the end, they only dub it rather than completely re-shoot everything that isn't suit footage with new Korean actors and sets.

Sounds like they got the approval to do an original series. So I guess that's a gray area.

I need help in showing some guy a really good scene from Power Rangers, specifically from seasons like in Space/TimeForce/SPD/RPM.

He said only Mighty Morphin is the good thing from the show so I wanted to show him that there are far better seasons than Mighty Morphin.

For In Space, show him the final fight scene from the last episode.

There is no hope if they flat out refuse to watch any other series.
