I can only hope Santa Claus shows up to save Kiriya tonight. :p |
I'm on the home-stretch of Faiz and, it's pretty awesome though it totally does a plot 180 in the teens and never looks back, which is pretty weird. Actually, a lot of plot points get dumped but - who cares, 'cuz the new ones are soooo melodramatic!!
And, yeah, everyone in this show is corrupted on some level, barring Mari and Keitaro. Nice pot leaf pendant, Kusaka. You think this was a reverse psychology gambit? "Kusaka is a coniving, sociopathic, douche-hat - if kids see him with some pot related paraphanalia, they'll never touch the stuff!". It should be noted that he's the only non-idiot in the entire show. |
I'm sorry, Kusaka has a pot pendant? How did I never notice this?
|
Yeah, it's an upside down potleaf which I only noticed pretty late in the show during a close up!
|
Giving Blade another try.
|
Stick with it - the first few episodes are a rollercoaster.
|
I'm up to episode 12 of Kiva.
Enjoying it mostly. I really like Wataru. And Jiro is pretty cool. This Nago guy sure is a real ixahole though. |
Gave the first episode of V3 a shot. It's even cheesier than Amazon somehow, which is delightful. Also first episode the main character gets his whole family murdered, how Showa. I was pretty surprised at how heavily the first episode was connected with the previous show though, Tachibana sure I expected, but not previous Riders! Looks like this will be fun experience.

Started Kuuga and I'm loving it. Just the right amount of gay in it, and I'm all about that.

I'm not sure. I don't think Kusaka would be so angry all the time if he was smoking a joint :lol
|
These are the shows I'm currently watching.
Ex-aid: Caught Up Drive: Episode 3 OOO: Episode 2 Ryuki: Episode 4 Gaim: Episode 21 Really enjoying all the shows I'm watching thus far. They've been really fun! |

Just want to point out that I did not crop this frame - it was shown like this for no reason that I could see (Kusaka doesn't even speak!), other than to flaunt the pot leaf! |
Super Hero Taisen GP: Kamen Rider Sangou: That was a brilliant movie. I loved so much about it. Probably the best of the Super Hero Taisen movies, well I loved the second one too. Sangou was a brilliant new rider and I loved his character. Mach shined amazingly and I loved his fight with Faiz. Kotaro was brilliant and it was great to see him again and transform into both Black and Black RX. This was my first time meeting Zeronos and he was just amazing I am going to love him in Den-O. This movie made me realize how great Drive was again. Also I enjoyed the Blade Riders too. The Ninningers were great just being there and I loved the Tridoron combining with it. I can't wait to watch the Yongou special to see how it connects with it. I love watching a great Kamen Rider movie before the year ends.

Agito. First time watching. I've managed to binge up to episode 21 so far. The only person who is not a complete jerk is Shouichi. Seriously, they even made the kids kind of jerks. I do like the henshin sequences, but my how far we've come.

I may not like Agito, but I did love all the scenes of Shouichi goadig Hikawa. Those were hilarious.

Okay so... I just finished Faiz. That was one hell of an experience. It was so bleak, it was hard to believe this was a kid's show. I can see why it's a love hate thing; my constitution is pretty good and even I was getting worn down by the final stretch.
Things I liked: Most plot lines resolved. Complex storyline gives questions with no easy answers. Character's motivations are generally understandable., even as they evolve. Great designs all around, excellent execution on the Riders. WAKA. WAKA. WAKA. Things I didn't like: In presenting a more realistic Rider System in the sense that the gear needs to be removed from a case, put on and activated, my mind just filled this gap with the Orphenoch's just having a smoke while they waited. Really sloppy filming and editing. There were shots (like Crane versus Lobster in downtown) where people are clearly seen going about their business even as this insane display occurs mere yards away. There were at least two instances of crew members getting left in the shot. Very sloppy. The whole Orphenoch King consequence made no sense to me. The had to kill him because he was going to eat all of the Orphenoch but if they did, it didn't matter because the Orphenochs were all going to die anyway because they had evolved further than their bodies could handle? The relentless suffering of just about everybody. Like I said, it was tough to watch sometimes! The end was no end at all. The show runners knew that there wasn't going to be another season, right? "TAKKUN! ORPHENOCH!!" Man, plausible time tricks just don't exist in Faiz. Wonky CGI. Being that the Orphenoch's are all monochromatic on the light scale, their zippers were far too visible on most of the costumes. Like, they didn't even try to hide them. There was a lot of adult stuff in here, some of which I (and I can't believe I'm the one saying this) felt was not really appropriate for kids to be watching. The birth of the King would be enough to send some kids to therapy for months! Also, what the hell was up with the sexual assault / appeasement between Teruo and Yuka? How about the Police Scientist's kinked out torture lab (nice studs on the restraining harnesses, you perverts)? Murakami, Saeko and Smart Lady all had canker sores at some point (which I thought may have just been real but Murakami's was pretty clearly fake). Of course, there's Kusaka subliminal pot love. I liked it. I don't love it, I doubt I'll ever watch it all again, but I'm glad I did. I might use this to convince my goth pals to watch KR! |
Have you seen the Faiz Hyper Battle Video yet Mars? I would highly suggest it! :D
|
Man, one of these days I really want to push myself past episode 15 and actually finish Faiz :lol

Hey, wasn't Amazons supposed to come to the US on Amazon? Is that still happening?
|
Kamen Rider Yongou Special: All 3 episodes were freaking brilliant, this was a great follow-up to the movie. I also can't believe what happened with Takumi but still loved it and all emotional from it. Zeronos is one of my favorite riders and I haven't even seen him in Den-O yet but he was just so freaking awesome. Drive and Mach were amazing like normal. These 4 were just perfect together, a random perfect match Faiz, Drive, Mach, and Zeronos. Also, great to see Kaidou back too.

Buuuut, probably not. |
I seriously wouldn't get your hopes up. I'm like 99% positive that first headline way back was misreported (and that 1% of doubt is only because I keep seeing people convinced it's a done deal), and we haven't heard a peep about it since.

No, I mean, the articles that were taken as confirmation, unless I'm remembering wrong, didn't say anything particularly conclusive on the matter, which is a bit different from that Garo announcement.
Over-Time didn't take it seriously enough to take down their subs, either (check the comments). Don't get me wrong, I could see it coming out of nowhere all of a sudden, but I find it odd we haven't gotten any sort of date or trailer, or anything, since. |

They do already have an English and German version of the homepage though, which might still be a hint.
http://www.superhero-year.com/amazons/?language=d The thing with the announcement was that they didn't give us any clear date. It just said something about 2017 and apparently, the package includes other Amazon Prime J-Drama as well, such as Baby Steps. I hope we will get some news this month. |
Just finished binge watching Blade, and man I really enjoyed the show. It certainly deserves all the praise it's gotten.

Up to episode 18 of Kiva. Enjoying it for the most part, few things bother me but I'll see how recurring these problems become.
The constant barrage of abuse Otoya has been subjected to has been most entertaining. And man, Nago is really losing his shit. |
