I know i see that they are cubes. A part of me likes the cubes thing a part of me is so so. I need to see the promo when it comes out. I need to see more.

The irony is that's actually a slightly more humanoid shape than the actual Megazord. If only because it has two legs and the implication of a chest and midsection.

Except old 80's Sentai Mecha were more detailed than this.

Why am I excited about this? I mean, the suits look like straight up 80's, aka my dad when he wears his oversized wolf tshirts. The mecha looks like kill it with MINECRAFT. But I'm totally excited about this. I'm sure I'll figure out why soon.

I've been wondering. Maybe the blocks are interchangeable. Like Blue, Red, and Yellow make up the first mech. But then you can replace whichever one you want with green or white, and make a new Block-Oh?

I just love us a fandom. Every year everyone wishes so hard for something different in motif, and mech, and whatever. And then they give us something different like ToQger or Ninninjin or Brick-Oh and we bitch that it's to different. I'm guilty of it to, I know. Just saying. We don't know what the hell we want. Personally though I love this, aaaaaaall of this. The suits, the helmets, the Mecha, I love it.

All it needs to be perfect is a female monster general I can fawn over.

I'm not a big fan of the designs myself, but it's nice to see glimmers of positivity on this thread. :p

People's reactions can be complex. The list of what I like about (what we've seen of) Jyuuouh-King is short, but it includes, "Well, it's certainly different." I appreciate that they're trying something radically different, even though I'm a little horrified by the result.

I'm curious about how the pixel-art aesthetic is going to translate to the show. I actually wouldn't be surprised if we see some pixel animation in the opening sequence.

Someone in this thread observed that they seem to be aiming for an even younger audience, and I fear they might be right. Rider certainly seems to be doing the same thing. I know I'd be happiest if Sentai would skew toward a slightly older audience.

(In fairness, I liked Shurikenjin quite a bit, and the WTF element of the design just added to my enjoyment.)

As an aside, I'd assumed that the sword/spike thing runs through all three blocks, but looking at it again (now that it appears the sword is removable), it now seems it only runs through the red 1 cube. That would suggest that, yeah, the rest of the mecha doesn't transform outside the stacking of the blocks. I would love to be proven wrong.

I didn't like Trainbow Megazord because of its waist. Seriously, that's all, I even contemplated getting other DX ToQ Bots, HOWEVER... I'm just not THAT interested in trains. I mean, I LIKE them, but not enough to invest in a walking model trainset. And I found ChairRanger Robo to be a chaotic nutball of fun, but the "BurningHumanMissileChestRanger Robo" I just found ugly. The missile chest is hilarious though. Also like Shinkenger's robos it's REEEEAAAALY Japanese. Like, more so than the last 2 Ninja teams somehow. And I find that Super Japanese look tends to get kinda stale for me. Then again, a gattai toy made to look like Americana rather than... Whatever the Japanese equivilant for Americana is, would get stale for me too. It's just really clashy standing next to a GaoKing, DaiZyuJin and DekaRanger Robo in my opinion. Somehow, I still don't understand why Regal Animals, Prehistoric Robots and a Walking Precinct don't seem to clash standing next to eachother.
