Superheroes need to be fun and silly from time to time. |
So Seth MacFarlane killed off Brian Griffin.
And the only two things I'm thinking right now are: Good riddance to a preachy strawman character. And this advert for the episode in question has an incredibly ironic quote in the first few seconds. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=L9DCo3xJ6Ww How is it Ironic? If you know anything about who Thomas Aquinas is and how Seth MacFarlane jokes about people like him in his shows, you'll know why. And that is all I am saying on the matter. |
Watching Regular Show, will Thomas ever change out of that pizza costume? :lol
|
There's a rumor circulating that MacFarlane actually HATES working on Family Guy nowadays & killing off Brian is part of his attempt to run the show into the ground so its canceled.
I can see the sense behind it, sadly. |
So I saw an ad on TV for something called Tenkai Knights... Gawddamn those look awesome o_o And it's a show apparently.. *Sets DVR!* I'm getting a feeling.. I'm all Medabotie!

Family Guy pretty much became the exact same thing South Park made fun of in that genius two parter with cartman.
|
Who knows, he might end up pulling a South Park. Kill off a character, bring them back, and end up taking a gigantic leap in quality (I can't watch a single episode of SP that's before "Kenny Dies" because it's near unbearable).
Granted, I've despised Family Guy ever since Brian went from the straight man to Seth's personal soap box, so I've thought the series has been utter shit since, like, season 4...So if it does go off the air, then it's no real loss. |
I'm only a casual Adventure Time fan (my girlfriend loves it so from time to time I'll sit and watch it with her), but last night I caught "Too Old".
Lemongrab has always been weird, but what the hell did I just watch :lol |
Just caught my first episode of Tenkai Knights and it's really good. It's like Digimon Frontier and Medabots had a Baby on some LEGOs. The characters are good, the story is solid. Bravenwolf is definately my favorite. Then so is Rogue.
Can't wait to learn more! |

Still depressed over the new 2012 TMNT show. At this point they should just call it the "Dysfunction Junction" because the new Turtles suck! No wonder Slash/Spike wanted to kill them' they're not heroic at all!! I mean I like the supporting cast a lot, but I feel they use mutation too much just to draw attention away from how unheroic the Turtles are. It seems like all flash and no substance with the Green Team as of yet. |
I watched "Along Came a Spider," the 11th episode of the second season of The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes. The episode was good, don't get me wrong, and Drake Bell's performance as Spider-Man was decent... but I kept imagining what the lines would have sounded like if they went with Josh Keaton's recordings. And I soon realized that this was because this role was written for Josh Keaton's Spider-Man, not Drake Bell's Spider-Man.
Objectively, Drake Bell delivered a solid performance. What bothers me, though, is the fact that his Spider-Man is better suited for the absolute insanity of Ultimate Spider-Man, featuring the infamous Spider-Toast. Josh Keaton's Spider-Man, on the other hand, was made for the story of The Spectacular Spider-Man, where the humor came from the personalities of the characters. And yes, I am one of those fanboys crying over The Spectacular Spider-Man. |
its JOSH Keaton. :P
Speaking of which, this is proof of how brilliant he is in the role: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PX8MOSAkLsI |

Got to watch the last part of the Black Friday South Park trilogy.
I'm unsure if it beats the Coon Trilogy for me right now, but it does beat Imaginationland... |
Am I the only one who thinks the Hulk is yelling, "PARTY HARD!" in the opening credits of The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes.

Ben 10 Omniverse has reached its halfway point and I'd thought I would share my thoughts on this series.
In the end despite little bumps along the way and a decrease of QC for better flowing animation and more detailed art I found Omniverse to be far better than Ultimate Alien, but that's just what I think. Focusing less on teen drama and returning to the more sci fi feeling did wonders for the show and series as a whole. Rook is an fun, fleshed out character and his interactions with Ben and his supporting cast are more enjoyable than listening to Gwen and Kevin bitch and moan. While I like the Ultimates losing them to make the overall show flow and just be better I'd say it was a worthwhile tradeoff. Here's to the next 40 episodes and the fun and joy they'll bring to fans new and old. |
Is it weird that i like the Rabbids cartoon?
|
What the shit, Family Guy.
Brian was already brought back. Blech. |

Regarding Family Guy: We all knew it would happen. Enough people bitched about it plus Brain was confirmed for new episodes. Seth stretched himself too thin by doing FG, AD (which is the superior show) and TCS; which bombed surprising almost nobody. At this point he should pick a show and let the other die. I vote for Family Guy to undergo the final cancelation. |
I just want Seth's crap off the air altogether. His style of humor isn't strong enough to support 3 shows, and he aims for dead baby jokes and shock gags when he fails to realize that kind of humor gets it's power from being unexpected, not the norm for a series.
"But South Park-" South Park reels it in so certain gags and jokes work. They don't always aim for the dark and mean spirited path just because that's what's typically expected. |

I was never a fan of american dad…it always just came off as a dumbed down, unfunny clone of Family Guy…
Haven't watched that many episodes of Cleaveland show yet but I'm not missing anything from the sound of things. |

Remember Quagmire's big rant about why Brian sucks?
Yeah, Brian's replacement (from the one episode I saw that he was in and it that was tonight's) fell into not one of those categories. He wast a lonely sack of crap, he wasn't a self-righteous asshole "author artist," and he wasn't a strawman Liberal Athiest. Brian's replacement felt like an actually decent character. |
And here I am, just watching old episodes of Spider-Man: The Animated Series. :lol
