It's also why Dekabright and Marigold didn't help or even get (Canon) ranger keys, since they're off planet. |

She just doesn't use it often. It's more just a personal limitation than a physical one. |
Deka Swan could only change once every four years (which is a weird number) and SPD Kat Ranger was supposed to be once, I believe, but that doesn't matter. All the teams that lost their powers came back, so why not her?
|
Well, in the Legendary War, Sentai version, Swan was there. Along with Doggy, MagiMother, Zuban, and a few other people. But they were fighting in a different location, somewhere in a forest on a cliff above the others. Not far off, but far enough to not actively be part of the battle used for our clips on SMF.
|
Even still, DekaSwan's 4 year time period was long since over, so she could morph once again.
So it's completely plausible for her to morph and fight. |
Which number of Rangers are better and more enjoyable?
Is having 7 or 9 rangers for Super Sentai teams better than having 6 rangers?
|
I'll put it simple. Which mumber is better for a Super Sentai team? 7 or 9?

It is only natural that she would transform to help out in the legend war, because she was needed and wanted to help. |
I have thought of a Made-Up Super Sentai Team of my own.

What would be the best software to draw Sentai Rangers? Because I've written down my own Fan-Made Ideas on my thread which you can check it out in your own time and I want to bring it to action.
Let me know as soon as possible. Thank You. |
Using pixel art in Paint is simple and effective if you don't mind a pixelized version of your rangers

Thanks

Do you all think that Super Sentai should have more Female Red Sentai Rangers rather than Male Red Sentai Rangers all the time?
|
Quote:
However, I've heard it's a rather hard sell, and that it's difficult to sell a boy's toyline with a female Red as the face of the series. I'm not sure what to think, but it would be really cool to have a female Red who's also a lead in the future. |
I'm sure this is a question that a lot of us are asking, so I'll just type it out:
What does Ninninger's intended audience see in this show? I get that Sentai's meant for younger kids but so far we have had a plot that's never gone anywhere, characters blander than Haruto(Wizard) and mecha that makes no sense because the guy designing the mechs was "bored" I'm honestly at a loss here. Surely there are people in Japan wondering why Ninninger's such a pile. |

I can only speak for why I like it, and... To me, Ninninger feels more like "classic sentai" than any show since Shinkenger. It's not a remix, it's not a pastiche, it's not a deconstruction, it's not a subversion, and it's not a "revolutionary new take." It's just pure Super Sentai, warts and all. It's very 90s-inspired, with tons of allusions to Kakuranger and Carranger in particular. 90s Sentai is my sweet spot, so it really pleases me to see a lot of cues taken from some of my favorite shows. I appreciate how the characters don't always get along and how they don't always have the answers. I love the bombastic sounds and special effects and overall design of the show. I appreciate how the cast balances levity and seriousness. And I dig that the heroes' main universal trait is their sheer enthusiasm for doing the right thing, even though they're untrained and untested. I'm also impressed that, while it isn't breaking the mold in terms of content, it's doing pretty interesting things with the classic Sentai episode structure. Japanese fans often refer to something they call "Super Sentai Spirit." It's hard to describe, but to me, that spirit is bold and bombastic, fueled by hard-charging trumpet music and populated by characters dripping with enthusiasm. It's free of irony and cynicism. It's bright and positive and action-packed. I think Ninninger has more Super Sentai Spirit than any series since Gokaiger (which literally is about that team learning about and achieving the Super Sentai Spirit). Are there flaws? Sure. The overarching plot didn't kick in until the early 30s. And except for Kyuemon the baddies are pretty one-note. And sometimes the humor isn't as sophisticated as I'd prefer (see: the episode where they disguise themselves as toys to infiltrate a kindergarten playground). But those flaws are very minor when compared to the elements of the show I really dig. Obviously YMMV. |
I just like Ninninger for being a fun Sentai.
it's not meant to make you question life lessons and teach you things. it simply wants you to take a load off and have fun. they're ninjas that are going wild! what are you expecting? plus, i like how we've also got other characters using the super form, and I lso love the subtle family aspect, which is something you rarely get to see in Sentai. and I also love the nods to other Ninja of Toei's live-action past. Hell, was anyone actually expecting THAT version of Jiraiya? |
As one of the people who isn't liking Ninninger all that much (don't get me wrong, for what it is, it's enjoyable), I'm going to place my dissatisfaction with the show with what I feel is wasted potential. As has been said, the overall plot didn't kick in until the 30's, but even now it feels like it paused for a few episodes, just to pick back up again (see Jiraiya and the one where a Youkai falls for Yakumo). But there could have been lots of things built up. The three western Youkai- they could have been major villains, serving to hand the team their asses, especially coming in at around episode 25 or so... or they could each die in a single episode. Kinji being a werewolf isn't mentioned at all outside of the episode where it happens, and then when it takes off fully- nothing builds to it, despite the character building that could have happened if someone, say Nagi, learned about it. Him and Kinji having to deal with it, Kinji becoming more and more out of control, until he snaps, forcing them to take him out. But no, it comes up once, and it'll be gone by next episode or so. The villains also do nothing, and are so bland, I think one of them could die and I'd think the ninjas had just killed a MOTW.
And the Last Ninja plot. It keeps being built up to, with the ultimate shuriken. But what actually is it? We don't know. How will it help defeat the bad guys? We don't know. Why does Kyuemon want the shuriken? Something something ultimate power (Although, credit is due for making Kyuemon legitimately interesting character... unless his entire motive turns out to be power). Why are they the 'last' ninja? Do all the others have to sacrifice their powers to power it? We don't know. I don't know if I just expected too much, but the series does feel like it could have been great, but there was a lot of wasted potential, and it never really recovered. |
yeah, they're not gonna get rid of Starninger, or hell, Kinji in general. he's way too popular.
again, my theory of the Last Ninja is "the last line of defense ninja". the ninja you call when nobody else can get the job done. and they mentioned that the end shuriken is the one that sealed away Kibaoni, and whoever can retrieve it proves they are worthy of becoming the Last Ninja. they said it in the earlier episodes. |
I am liking Ninninger, but I also love ninjas in general.
But the show is fun. From the opening scene of the first episode until now, it has always been fun first. The creator of the mechs got bored with the same themes (honestly, if it was just another animal themed mech lineup, there would be complaints there also) so why not reference it all? I like the controlled chaos the show offers. Takaharu gets on my nerves, but I think the other rangers are subdued enough that nicely rounds out the team. The family dynamic is subtle, but there (they are cousins mostly, so the hierarchy like we got in Magiranger with them being siblings isn't overbearing). Grandpa is playing a pretty good distant mentor role and the dad makes me laugh. I know folks are expecting way more out of the show, but honestly, the toys are fun (my daughter plays with my/her ichibantou everyday and loves spinning the shurikens), and it is bright, loud, and fast. I am enjoying it and can respect how others aren't, even if I don't completely understand it. |

I'll admit that I like Ninninger.
It isn't my favourite of the Japanese-motifed Sentai―that "honour" likely goes to Shinkenger―but I don't dislike it. I like Ninnin for what it is; an average but fun installment. (^_^) |

Why don't he more female leaders ?
|
I wonder that as well. I enjoyed Ninja White as the leader and most rational of the bunch and the same for Time Pink. I would like to see another female leader on a future team. Even if red is the field leader.

How would look like a new Bird-themed sentai ?

Totally forgot about GekiYellow. They underutilized her; heck I even forgot about her and it wasn't that long ago that I watched Gekiranger
|
I was about to mention her, myself :lol
|
Time Pink I think felt like the more hands-on leader.
Ninja White did feel close to her counterpart from Journey To The West and looking back now I think it was probably best to bring her for Gokaiger instead of Sasuke since he was more of a protagonist than a leader. Geki Yellow like Suzu said was more of the maternal type. And now a question: which Sentai alumni do you think was the best actor or actress? |

That episode is perfect for shutting up assholes who claim "Sentai is more mature!" Peeing Retsu indeed. :lol |
who the hell is claiming Sentai is more mature when fucking Carranger exists?
|
I remember on IGN back in 2004, you had fans that where like "Dekaranger is so awesome. I hope Disney won't fuck it up since Dekaranger has a dark and serious tone to it!".
|
I will say, it was a show that didn't really hide the fact that alien races die.
i mean, Kreuger was the best character in the show. |

If you go by performances after Sentai though, I think Tori Matsusaka aka ShinkenRed deserves the crown for best development. While he could be pretty awkward back in the day, he quickly improved (starting with his awesome performance in Clone Baby). I'm planning to see his newest movie in cinema soon and I'm really looking forward to it. And if you want amazing acting in both Sentai and after it, Yudai Chiba aka GoseiRed is your man. His performance in Gosei was incredible, as he was able to present a wide range if emotions already. No wonder he's very popular lately. Can't wait to see him in Mr. Maxman! |
