Yes, it's the Magnus one with a translucent Rung and Energon Cubes you have to dig out of a "compound" (it's Play-Doh) for...reasons. |
Ollie's and TJ Maxx's usually have similar blow-outs, so you may want to check a TJ Maxx if that's closer to you.

So I've been out of Transformers collecting for a good while now, but my interest has been piqued with one particular Studio Series Hot Rod. I was considering putting him off for a bit especially with quite a few big purchases coming up this year, but I've remembered that Transformers can, uh, kind of triple in price on the aftermarket within 4 months of release! So should I get him sooner rather than later, with that being the only factor? I'm the sort of person who doesn't mind too much when she gets something as long as it is coming.

While he may be in huge demand up front, there should be more than enough later in the year to keep the price down. You're okay to wait on that one, I think. |

Basically, I'd expect the repack Wave to hit somewhere in the spring of 2021, but probably the later end of it. |
So here's a question for all of us. We all know that some share the same designs such as Starscream, Thundercracker, and Skywarp or Prowl, Bluestreak, and Smokescreen. Which transformer do you think has the better color scheme?

So the Earthrise show was a big mixed bag. If I had to say what was the best thing from it, it would have to be Megatron from the first two or three episodes. Didn't expect to see a Megatron show feelings.

Found Earthrise Arcee at my local Walgreen's. I like her robot mode. Good poses are possible, though the limbs are all over the place. You can keep the portion of her backpack that forms a "hoverboard" attached or separate it. As awkward as that "hoverboard" looks, it actually kind of works for some reason. Her vehicle mode is a shellformer in every sense of the term, and I just could not make everything fit just so. I finally gave up and just reverted back to robot mode.

I've been trying to get a hold of Earthrise Ironhide (just Ironhide from the two-pack) which I understand was an Amazon exclusive.
What are my chances for a rerelease, perhaps as a solo figure? Did it get a release in Japan by itself? I can't imagine a nice mold for a prominent character like that would stay exclusive forever. |
Quote:
First, they may reoffer it down the line! Kingdom's doing some Earthrise repacks, and while I don't think Ironhide was one of them, there's always a chance. Second, yeah, the Ironhide/Prowl 2-pack got offered by Takara... as a TakaraTomy Mall exclusive, so the price is probably not going to be substantially better. Third, maybe HasbroPulse will relist it? They've slowly started offering store exclusives (Walmart, mostly), so maybe they could do the Amazon ones next? None of these are great possibilities! I'm really sorry about that. I honestly had no idea the aftermarket price on that 2-pack was so insane. (TFSource has it for $180?!) You're right in thinking that a good Ironhide (and Prowl) shouldn't be so hard to get, but, well, Hasbro made it an exclusive to start with, so they might not be swayed by logic. |

I heard there's rumors of Dirge/Ramjet being reissued in April, but I don't know if that will mean Ironhide/Prowl will be too (if the rumor is even true). |
The Fossilizer Ractinite figure is a lot of fun.

Anyone been able to get ahold of a Dinobot? Been looking for one of him.

My situation is that he's been spotted in my area...And completely bought out :lol
Like, of the 4 stores I visited, the TF section has been cleaned out aside from, like a few Cyberverse Voyagers. Since I have no idea when they'll be getting any new inventory in, I just have to sit here twiddling my thumbs unless someone can hook me up :lol |

Kingdom Leader Galvatron first look

Got Dinobot and wow is it cool.
Matrix if you still want Dinobot you also must get Ractinite. He makes a wonderful hammer and spear/lance for Dinobot to dual wield. |

https://challengerscomics.com/images...o/unicron2.JPG HasLab Unicron! (Kingdom Core Megatron for scale and laughs) Spent an hour on Thursday transforming him. The planet mode is awe-inspiring in person. It's this daunting sphere of menace, and it's ridiculous to be in the presence of. If I had the clearance to put a 30"-tall toy (from bottom of base to top of spire) on top of any of my shelves, that's how I'd keep him. But I don't, so he lives in robot mode. https://challengerscomics.com/images...o/unicron3.JPG https://challengerscomics.com/images...o/unicron4.JPG The transformation is time-consuming, but not arduous. Took me about an hour to transform him, and it's mostly because he's so goddamn massive that little movements take a bunch of work. He's not a toy that you reposition to get at different parts; you need to reposition yourself to manipulate him. Thankfully, you can transform him while he stays attached to his stand (you kind of have to do it that way, or it's like changing a baby while you're carrying it) so it's mostly just a matter of finding a table that you can walk around to get at different sides. He is 100% a shellformer, in case there was any question about that. His limbs are balled up inside the sphere, and the sphere layers up into different piles that attach to his back and legs. The head is a completely separate piece that attaches after you transform him. The spires of planet mode detach as Step One, and then get reshaped and plugged back in as the final step. It's not a particularly clever or satisfying transformation, but it's also not the frustrating ordeal that recent Masterpieces have been. It's a process, and a long one, but not a difficult one. In the end, he looks comically massive on top of my display cases. He makes Titan Class figures look anemic and sad by comparison. He's almost stupidly impressive. Not the best toy or anything, but a hell of a piece to add to a collection. |

*Has Nam flashbacks to literally never seeing Earthrise in stores* Quote:
I remember I stopped grabbing too many 3rd party figures because their complex transformations kept me from fiddling with them, but in this case, I think I just don't have the drive to transform a toddler sized figure :lol |

P. S.: Wonder if they'll one day modernize the Cybertron tank design!? |
My brother (Fuck You Casey) got me the Rozen Zulu Clear version in the Theater Exclusive box from what I can understand. He got me this because he knows I hate Gundam Unicorn designs (for the most part), so he got me the one suit with annoying noodle stickers that happens to be purple. The clear plastic scares me.
New Gundam Breakers. |
I'm still sad over New Gundam Breaker. It was the first real Gundam game we got for the PC and it was such a disaster! My biggest fear is that is scared Bandai Namco off of PC ports.
I would have been happy with a Gundam Break 3 port to PC. Now that is an awesome game! |
The hell, how did I not notice this was in the wrong thread? My brain must be messing up bad.

Is there a good resource for buying older Transformers figures other than eBay of course.
I'm looking for the Deluxe Classics Grimlock and some older RID 2001 figures. |

Storefronts like TFSource and TransformerLand are pretty solid. Both are really good about making sure you know what you're getting, and TFSource allows for alerts if you're looking for something they're out of stock on. Of the two, TransformerLand has a lot more RID 2001 stuff right now. The main thing I'd suggest, though, is the TFW2005 B/S/T thread. I was looking to build out a collection a few years back, and I was able to get nearly everything I was looking for, at really good prices. (Plus, it's nice to know you're getting it from another fan.) Totally worth a search to see if you can score some deals. |

Honestly, I'd say either BST threads on forums like TFW2005 or sellers on Facebook would be your best bet for good deals.

If you're still looking for War For Cybertron Rung and you have an Ollie's nearby, they're starting to show up for $4.99.
