In total Astromena had 10 different hairstyles, 11 if you want to include her natural hairstyle she only wore when she became Karone (except for one scene in A Date with Danger.) In order or appearance they were Purple, Black, Platinum Blonde, Brown, a sort of Greyish-Black, what I refer to as Egyptian style, White, Blue, Red (only in one scene before getting her cyborg implants) and finally her Cyborg look. So they have a lot of options. I doubt they'll release all of these, but who knows. At this point they've rereleased MMPR pink like four or five times.
Space and Lost Galaxy were two of my favorite seasons, and I'd have to put Astronema/Karone as my all time favorite character out of all of Power Rangers, but even I wouldn't get ten different versions of her. I got the first two pack with Andros and will be getting this one when it releases, but the only other ones I would get of Astronema (not counting any Karone ones) would be the white hair and the cyborg. |
So I'm sure this is just my anxiety talking, but I wanna get this out in the open & hope that I'm wrong. Please leave your thoughts if you have any.
I really hope Hasbro gets smarter about how they distribute certain seasons throughout their waves. Like we have a bunch of fan favorites getting almost completely full teams. Like SPD, In Space, Dino Thunder are damn near finished. I get that that sounds weird but hear me out. If they dip into other series like Operation Overdrive, Alien, Wild Force & other series that are more divisive than others lots of fans aren't gonna bother picking them up cause there's a good amount of dislike/hatred for certain ones. Ninja Steel, Lightspeed Rescue & Megaforce just to name a few more. If later waves don't sell as much than are retailers really gonna bother picking up future waves if they don't have any guaranteed purchases like fan-favorite characters to help boost sales? Like if it were up to me I'd always make waves a mix of seasons people like & don't like, just to prove to the Targets & Wal-Marts that Lightning Collection is a line with longevity. But if all the characters people want are already made, then when we get to later ones the line might die off because Samurai & other seasons like it don't have the same sales as SPD or In Space, ya know? Again. Maybe I'm just being too worried about it, I just want this line to continue & complete every team & I'm scared Hasbro might burn themselves out before they get a chance to do it. |

By the time we get to Boukenger they'll be on their like 9th release of MMPR and will finally be releasing their fifth ever Yellow Ranger, I really wouldn't worry too much about it
|
Personally I'd like them to do complete teams of seasons I want rather than the less popular ones I'm less likely to buy anyway. I've only just started collecting them because I like to display full teams rather than a mash of ones from different seasons. I picked up or pre-ordered all of in Space and SPD (including the Psycho Rangers and A-Squad). And I think it will be nice to display the good versus evil Rangers once they release in Space Pink and Silver and SPD Yellow.
It would be nice if they did full teams in five or six packs like they did with the Psycho Rangers. (For the teams they haven't released figures for yet, not teams like in Space, SPD, or ZEO) to force you to buy four duplicate figures for the one new one. As for doing reissues, they already doing that a ton with MMPR with the metallic armor figures as well as the alternate head sculps of MMPR pink and yellow with Aisha and Kat in two-packs with new figures. However there are only some seasons with a team-wide power up: Lost Galaxy with the Lights of Orion, SPD with SWAT mode, Mystic Force with I believe it was legendary mode, Dino Thunder with super dino mode, and Samurai with the black box mode. Also there aren't that many opportunities for alternate head-sculps after Turbo because there weren't many Ranger changes after that season. The only one that come to mine as Kendrix-Karone in Lost Galaxy, as well as a Magna Defender with Mike's head-sculpt. After that there's Wes-Alex in Time Force, but they're both played by the same actor with only the hair-color being different. And then there's Sky and Bridge being promoted at the end of SPD and in the Operation Overdrive team-up. But we already have all those figures and head-sculpts, so you can just put your existing Sky's head on Red SPD and Bridge's on Blue SPD if you really want to. |
I think 5-packs is potentially what we could see for teams like Boukenger and Samurai that aren't particularly popular, honestly -- I think it would be a fair compromise to get them out there, with just the Red and Sixth in the main waves. I could maybe even see that done for Kyoryuger's extras too

A new two-pack has been revealed: the Cogs from Zeo (with one being the Sentai-accurate silver body and the other being the US original pink body)

For some clarification on this; this isn't revealed quite yet -- they were 'revealed' through a Power Morphicon email seemingly sent out early, as shared on Rangerboard. They're Hasbro Pulse exclusive, the link to which doesn't work yet.
Something cool is that that isn't an extra head there -- the upper part of the Cogs' faces slide up! https://www.rangerboard.com/index.ph...84471/page-459 |

First look; release details to be confirmed.
|
Definitely nabbing this. And I'm glad they learned from their Putty 2-Pack and made both Cogs different versions.
|
Hopefully these also remain in-stock for a while. If there's any pulse-exclusive items that should remain steadily available, it's army builders.

Putties generally had the one flavor. While we had those occasional darker putties from the sentai footage, the light grey variety is what we typically get. So it makes sense to me that they just went the route of the three putties all having different torso patterns. If heads do indeed slide up, Ninjastorm Green could be made to have a transforming head. |

I feel the Putty 2-pack is by far one of the best 2-packs yet? Like, if you want a Putty figure; you more than likely want more than one... so that's a 2-pack that makes sense, since it's basically guaranteed you'll want both figures included; and then the way they are slightly differentiated is by the different effect parts, which makes for a more interesting display. It's kind of perfect, imo!

Because I feel the same way. I only want OO figures because of Boukenger. |

Speaking of mooks, more reviews are starting to flood in on the latest Wave.
And surprisingly, it seems that this time the Winner of the Wave is the Tenga Warrior! That's the mook for MMPR season 3. More level of sculpt and paint detailing than what we normally get(although the feet are pretty plain in comparison to the rest of the figure), great articulation, and has pretty much every accessory you could ever want for a Tenga. Can't wait until the 2 I pre-ordered arrive. |
|
Oh, they're just swappable heads. Bit of a shame
|

Still, mine is now pre-ordered. Hope they're as fun to play with as the other mooks have been. |
I Like how there heads go up like how they did in the show.
|
Preordered a set of 2 like I did with the Putties.
From the looks of it, they'll basically be no different from them in terms of being mainly blank bodies with details on the hands, boots and head. So basically they'll be a lot of fun to mess with. |
next wave will apparently consist of:
*Zeo Yellow *In Space Pink *Dino Charge Green *Phantom Ranger https://twitter.com/LightningFigPR/s...97800039419907 |
Gimme that Phantom Ranger!!
|
This makes the third wave without an MMPR focus. And while the Phantom Ranger is tempting, I think this'll also be the first wave I totally pass on, lol.
|
Very solid wave overall. Completes all six members of Zeo; all five members of In Space before their sixth; and Phantom Ranger is easily the coolest thing they've done since like Wave 3. Oh, and more Kyoryugers is neat. LC is healing
|
Oh I'm absolutely snagging that Phantom Ranger.
|
Cassie and Phantom Ranger in the same wave? Daw.
|
Really excited for that wave. Zeo will be completed, In Space will just be missing their Sixth, and we might potentially be starting Turbo with Phantom Ranger (Even though he's labeled as In Space here). Then with Dino Charge, we'd just need Pink and Blue for the core team.
Lots of teams that are still very close to completion too, like SPD, Lost Galaxy, Dino Thunder and Beast Morphers. It really sticks out that Time Force Red is still riding solo. Hopefully we get Jen or really anybody else from that team soon. Kind of shocking since it's one of the more popular teams and you can guarantee that at least Pink and Quantum Ranger will sell well. |

The LC Dragon Dagger is getting reissued for those who missed out on it.

Barring putting the rest of the team in exclusives, there's only so much room in the main waves. In the end for next year, MMPR, Zeo, Space, and SPD are out for the most part in being in a wave. We'll probably see the two pack/exclusive rangers steal a slot here and there but they've got a lot of wiggle room for new teams. LG/BM/DT/TF/DC can certainly rules 2022 especially when you factor in exclusives. |

it seems at least one more Monster is on the way...
|
Yeeeaaahh I saw EyeGuy coming, haha. Very iconic monster, and very nostalgic for me since that was the first monster toy I ever owned as a kid.
|
Eye Guy's been leaked for months now thanks to some listings back iiin...March I wanna say. April at most.
|
Dino Charge Green! Now if only I could find the other three...
|
I like that they gave Dino Charge Green the roll call pose hands. Nice touch.
|
So overall, everything shown and teased was already leaked.
Wave 10 looks fine. That said, no news of Zeo Blue tonfas anywhere which means get ready for a Blue/MMPR Red 2-pack with the tonfas included. Eye Guy got leaked literally right before his reveal but he looks great. I'm glad they're not caving to people complaining about their sizes since I think the monster characters should be bigger than the rangers. Seeing him being slightly bigger than even King Sphinx is really funny cause you know it caused people to get up-tight. Ecliptor/Astronama 2-pack will be revealed officially next month. Tried to play it off like it was a new tease but given how they had it on-display overseas and all... And a Ninjetti ranger tease. I'm gonna assume that team's gonna get completed before most others too. |
What would you guys like to see happen most in upcoming waves? I think either way they should put Yellows and Pinks in every wave for a while since they really fell behind on those; and in particular I think they should prioritise SPD and DC since those were started earliest. If they do SPD Yellow then that actually completes that team unless you count Kat. I think if I were to choose the next couple waves they'd look something like this...
- SPD Yellow - DC Pink - BM Silver - TF Blue - BM Yellow - DC Blue - LG Pink - IS Silver |
