Anyhoos, Primitive Dragon looks badass. The pale ice blue hue with a stroke of red does do wonders I think. The whole fossil/ice age vibe definitely works in its favor. :rock:

It's improving though. Daishinji is back on Touma's side now, Ogami is leaning that way and it's probably only a matter of time before Rintarou joins them as well.

Chapter 1 synopsis of the Kamen Rider Buster manga according to Toei:

Ryo Ogami is the strongest high school student who adores Showa-era delinquents. However, he can never compete with student body president and childhood friend Haruka Kiritani. Also he has vague feelings of love towards her.... One day while going to buy his favorite drink of all time, cola, Ryo finds all of the cola to be out of stock and instead notices the square object below the vending machine. That was none other than the Genbu Shinwa Wonder Ride Book.

This looks pretty good, I've read a bit of Kamen Rider W: Fuuto detective (I'm probably going to read Spirits at some point,) so I'm curious about how another Kamen Rider manga does. Any idea who's working on it?

I love how, from that design and plot description, Ogami sounds like just a very 'classic' shonen protagonist! It's always cool when a character like that gets to grow up and somewhat settle down but doesn't stop being a hero.

So we better prepare ourselves for the reason why Ogami's wife does not appear in Saber.

This kind of reminds me of how Wilder Tiger met his wife in Tiger and Bunny, and ironically Wild Tiger's whole thing was being the experienced, older, hero with a kid in a group of heroes.

Even Ogami's wife gives off that strong, beautiful, Yamato Nadeshiko vibes like the glimpses we got of Tomoe.

Yep. And given that his current age within the show is 36 the manga is probably some years prior to the big incident where Hayato was Calibur and Daichi was Saber. That places this manga somewhere around the early 2000s.

Art is by Keitaro Kumazuki and his notable claim to fame seems to be his work on the manga adaptation of Issac Asimov's Foundation. Story is by Kaori Kaneko, who worked on scripts for LuPat, Ryusoulger, and Kiramager.

One thing to also note is Dezast's history and rivalry with Ogami. The two seems to have been butting heads with each other for a long time now, so, it'd be nice to see how it began. I'm guessing it's Storious trying out his tri-megid experiment for the first time, the only question is who was the unfortunate victim.

Luna... Rintaro barely got any storyline screen time after a short rivalry between zoous and trying to avenge his fallen master. Kento and calibur story was the q1 storyline . Now is yuri and the "masters" kamijo and slash. Rintaro doesn't deserve to be called the secondary rider anymore . He rarely fight or used his power up. Touma got the better debut epsiode. Kento was the more interesting "secondary rider" instead of third rider in name.

Man, it would be messed up if they pulled a Saint Seiya Lost Canvas with Ryo and Haruka and Desast, with Desast originally being a total polar opposite prior to his transformation, the timid and kind-hearted soul who wants to protect everyone type maybe.

I so wish for Primitive Dragon to make Touma aware of his actions after getting the first taste of its power.

Give him the power to lash out at his former teammates for how they treated him and outcast him!

Take Kenzan for good out of blood!

Touma doesn't really have a problem with his former comrades just with Reika for breaking up the band.

I think that Touma might use the Primitive Dragon Wonder Ride Book as a bit of an excuse to release some of the pent-up frustration he has for the Sword of Logos Group. Seriously, it's hard for anyone to keep in frustration. He was kicked out of the group basically because Reika said "Red Sus". Any Among Us player would be angry. Not only that, his final connection to his past in the form of Kento is gone. So, I bet he is at least a little bit angered at the whole thing. Even though Calibur was defeated, Kento is still gone.
I'm sure that he has at least SOME frustration for the Sword of Logos Group. Even though he doesn't really have a problem with the Sword of Logos Group, no one should hold in frustration. It can cause people to lash out. Believe me, I know. I have major meltdowns if I am stressed out enough.

Meanwhile, I think that the new group might be the creators for the Primitive Dragon Wonder Ride Book. Perhaps their goal is to collect the Wonder Ride Books to create the Great Book again.

Also, I find it quite interesting that the Tarou Books are based upon the Story basis for 3 of the Taros from Kamen Rider Den-O. The one for Momotaros, Urataros, and Kintaros, who give Den-O Sword Form, Rod Form, and Axe Form respectively. So, I wonder whether down the line (which can be turned into a pun about rail lines, but wasn't intended) we will get Tatsu no Ko Tarō, the basis for Ryutaros, who gave Den-O Gun Form. Sieg was given a form based upon Swan Lake, and Deneb was based upon both Benkei and Karasu-Tengu. In fact, some of the basis for the other Imagin from Den-O were given Wonder Ride Books/Alter Ride Books.

Funny how the same writer had Geki Chopper as an enigmatic antagonist mid-season for Ghost. Maybe Keisuke will play the Jabel of the show.

That won't happen. Him attacking other swordsmen out of control can happen, but not consciously and with intention to do so. Touma has shown he has no biz bring angry with the northern swordsmen cuz he knows it's not his fault. However, can we see him lash out at Kenzan without Primitive? Maybe, but with the intention to kill? No.

His "pent-up frustration" is towards Reika, as shown in previous episodes. He's shown not to hold it against the other swordsmen.

Well that's not fair. True lash at Reika, but Kenzan's a brat that needs to be punished!

I'm not sure if they timings would work out as I don't think we know for certain how old Sora is, nor when Dezast first appeared, but it would be particularly heart-wrenching!

What if Ren once had a mother who tried to get him away from the Sword of Logos, fearing of what they'll do to him and make him do & think?

They killed her and they turned Kenzan into a mindless pawn/weapon.

Just thinking like Onimusha 2 on how Fuma Kotaro died.

It would explain Ren's behavior & mindset.

They already explained his mindset like, months ago.

He literally watched his best friend DIE in front of him. Then the new guy that his friend was ditching him for says that the murderer was right.

I know Ren's not really the most likeable character right now, but you know what? He has plenty of reason to not trust Touma right now. He's still in the wrong, but that doesn't mean hes a monster or deserves to be murdered or anything. He's a person suffering from a deep personal loss, not a two year old throwing a temper tantrum.

Add to the fact that his personality was already childish enough before Kento 'died' and you have the recipe for an emotionally unstable rampaging berserker.

This isn't something you can explain to people who are mentally ill. You'll notice that these are the same people who absolutely hate Reika.

It's a show - a fucking Kamen Rider series, at that. You aren't supposed to like everyone. It's okay for characters to be despicable and flawed. We're the audience - we are literally being spoonfed information that is supposed to lead us to certain conclusions, for the time being.

We need a character like Ren - a rookie, just like Touma.

Mental illness can explain Ren's actions but it doesn't justify them. Kusaka was also a psychopath but that doesn't mean he was a good guy or a victim of some condition. His actions were still his own, he manipulated people, he knew what he was doing and he didn't care about anybody's desires beyond his own. Mitsuzane is the worst case of this though.

In Ren's case, his philosophy that strength is justice lacks nuance which is why he couldn't accept that Kamijo defeated Kento. He's like an AI being told a paradox and can't understand the truth is more complicated than it seems on the surface. However, Ren made a choice to antagonize Touma instead of giving him a chance to explain himself. That's not a problem with Ren's philosophy, that's just a problem with Ren.

Yeah, he's seeing everything in black-and-white, and refusing to consider that Touma might be right. He's refusing to think in general, actually.

I might need to explain: I never meant to "excuse" what Ren was doing (though I can see how it might sound like that. oops). He's still very much the one in the wrong here. But I'm tired of people saying "I don't like this character, so the hero who wants to save people should go against everything the show stands for and murder them," and then getting mad when that doesn't happen.

I know I can't tell anyone how they should watch a show, and maybe I shouldn't have said anything at all. Maybe I've taken things too far. I'm not sure anymore.

I don't even like Ren that much. I just think there's more to the character than, "he's bad."
