Hasbro did recently post a teaser related to the TMNT comic crossover on all of their social media, so I imagine those Turtle Waves that got leaked a while back will get officially revealed during Power Month.
To answer the question specifically though, and I know this is a rather unpopular opinion since currently alot of the fanbase just wants them to finish teams, I'd like it if they prioritized either introducing new teams, even if they're unpopular ones, or, alternatively, updating the articulation base to match their other lines. Funny how LC started a new way of Hasbro articulating their figures, only to very swiftly become outdated a year later. GI Joe and Star Wars just do it better now. Or at the very least start giving us the double ball peg necks. |
I'd like to see them start new teams too (little right now is appealing to me), but I'd at least like to see them complete a few they've started first. Before extras, SPD and IS both have one left; while BM, DT and DC have two. I think if we got a few of those I'd be satisfied to see them do new stuff
(We did also just see them start Turbo) |

On the topic of Turbo though, I am very curious as to who they're gonna choose is in each suit. Justin of course won't have this problem, but everyone else? ...Ah who am I kidding, they're gonna go with the first team because Tommy. |
The only thing I'm sure of there is that Turbo Blue won't come with a head. It would look a bit... y'know...

That said, would be neat if they did a scan of Blake Foster as he is now for it, if they did decide using Kid Justin would be too jarring. I'm sure he'd be down for it. |

The 2nd two pack will likely be Raph and Mikey, the 3rd two pack will likely be April and Metalhead as the Turtle Megazord which might the size of a monster figure, I guessing Metalhead as likely, is because Shredder is a solo pack.
|
I was going to get this, but they can go flip themselves for £60.

But yeah it's really weird these cost almost the price of three LCs. Wonder what the reason is |

The mic and camera is a VERY cute touch... also while this is the 5th MMPR Pink release, it is the first one to not feature a skirt; so that's neat!
|
I feel like the decisions for how the multipacks were done were due to them being concerned that some people would only want the turtles and not care about Shredder and April.
|
I just noticed that all of the Turtles revealed so far have the pinless shoulder and knee joints that Marvel Legends has been doing lately. Hoping this continues for future figures in the line.

Just seen it pointed out that this is now us technically at 100 known LC figures -- officially it's 98 (so I imagine the next two reveals are locked in as Shredder and ninja tommy), but there's that leaked 2-pack of the in space villains we've known about for months.
So... yeah, 100 LC figures! How've you liked this line so far? What's been your favourites? Have you felt in the 2 years it's been around it's evolved or offered a good variety or some such? |
Well the only figure I ever bought was Lord Drakkon for the purposes of taking a series of photos. And believe me, he was not fun to handle. The untransformed head is so tight trying to remove it removes the whole plug, there are a lot of unnecessary joints that are incredibly stiff and it was not fun to handle at all.
|
Uh I haven't been keeping up too well but I've gotten LG and Psycho Red, TF Red, Gold Zeo and Shadow Rangers. They've been fun, plus they scale with the 6 inch line so that makes it even more fun for me to put them on display.

I have Dragonranger, Kibaranger, Kingranger, Time Red, Beet Buster, and Kyoryu Red. Of these, Beet Buster is the clear winner, as far as overall quality and screen-accuracy go. Dragonranger, Kibaranger, and Kingranger are also extremely solid figures, even though I wish their proportions were more in-line with what we see on-screen. Time Red and Kyoryu Red are... fine, I guess. Visually, I think the armored characters, and those that don't just replicate the standard male ranger mold, are pretty stand-out pieces. Unfortunately, the non-armored, standard rangers leave a lot to be desired. I think the armor tends to cover up some of the unsightly exposed joints and proportion weaknesses, and without those embellishments, the base figures are not as seamless or realistic-looking as I'd like them to be. Poseability-wise, I think all of the figures have their struggles (some joints are way too stiff while others are way too loose; and the way their torsos twist and bend is a little disturbing), but again, the non-armored rangers just feel a little... odd... with their joints so clearly exposed. I also don't think I've seen any improvements or evolutions in the line at all. The newer figures are pretty much carbon copies of the older ones (except for the ones that deviate from the standard molds, obviously). I don't really see Hasbro learning and adapting to criticism. Maybe these figures just aren't popular enough for further R&D. I don't know. So far, I've stuck to the male rangers mostly because I deeply detest how the female rangers' arms look in proportion to the rest of their bodies. That said, I'll probably be picking up Oh Yellow when she comes out. I'll have more to say about those later. I'd give the line, overall, a 3/5... but there are some 5/5 entries mixed in. |
I got my LC Dino Thunder Red not too long ago and it's pretty nice for an introduction to the line. However something I'm still curious about is how the torso joints are supposed to work, sometimes I feel like I'm bending them in a way they aren't meant to.

Dang, Ninja Tommy doesn't have the pinless joints That's a shame. Makes sense he's packed in with Raph though, given the story of the comic.
Although it wasn't part of the leaks we got awhile back, I am hoping we get a a Putty Soldier trrop builder/2-pack. Would love to add those to my mook army. Quote:

I also technically have SPD Green and two Tenga Warriors, but they're currently sitting in my PoL at BBTS. Overall, I think the line is doing fine for what it is. There's certainly room for improvement, but considering this line gets less budget than every other line Hasbro does? Not bad. That said, I've said it since the line first started and I'll say it again: I wish that instead of the reverse ab-crunch we had a ball joint at the waist. The sculpts would look way better and we'd be able to lean in every direction alot more naturally. Especially since those diaphragm joints are really good on average. I'd also like if we started either getting properly done double ball peg necks like how some Marvel Legends figures are finally starting to get, or if we'd get the same neck set-up as the G.I. Joe line, where there's a ball joint at the base of the neck. Would really allow for alot more expressive posing and make the figures all the nicer to display. Here's to hoping we get some more cool new stuff throughout the month! |
I'd like to see more comic book characters like the Solar Rangers.
I have a few LC figures but I don't really like their proportions. They are ever so slightly bottom heavy and a little too bulky - which I know was toned down from the old legacy collection. But ultimately, as a big fan of SH Figuarts, them being out of scale with each other makes them less appealing. Though the price seems good for the quality that you get most of the time. |

One more!
|
The one everyone was waiting for! He's got a cloth cape too which is really nice. $32 though and only alternate hands and effect parts...
|
I guess this means Metalhead is gonna be our 100th figure.
Given that Shredder here also has pinless joints, this likely means he's an entirely new mold like the Turtles are. That plus the cape are probably why he costs more than the average figure. |
I'm just thinking about stuff, and I'm realising that the Ryusoulgers have the potential to be some of the best releases for the entire LC line. Why? Because they only have a single weapon accessory to come with -- their swords!
That means that the budget that would have gone to other weapons like with other teams would either go to extra effect parts or hands, or just better details in the figures. They have so little to come with that less is more would really apply here. The one exception is Gold since he has both his henshin gun and his little sword thing (unless they removed one of those in PR?), but I imagine he'd still turn out fine. Gaisorg only needing his sword would also allow more detail for him, making that exciting release even moreso! |
I would buy a Lighting Collection figure of Max Ryusoul Red.
|
For the 100th figure, my money is on a metallic White or Green ranger. Do the metallic variants count towards the 100?
|

The Metallic armour was also only ever done for MMPR White and not Green... but I could see them doing Green anyway because it's MMPR Green https://i.redd.it/xvqyby6fmt871.jpg |
For those who missed out before, MMPR Red, Zeo Gold, and Lord Drakkon are getting restocked.
Would definitely recommend the Drakkon figure if you like the character. They did a great job with that one, I feel. |

A bit funny to see them restocking MMPR Red when a lot of people didn't like that helmet sculpt, and they later put out a version (Metallic) with a much better helmet sculpt |
