From this brief clip, Baku is giving serious bishounen vibes. I half-expected anime cherry blossom petals to blow through the air behind him when he started talking. :lol |

And Toei once again showcases blatant favoritism towards a very certain writer.

I'm not going to lie, Takahashi being the main writer was a bit of a make or break factor for my interest in Zeztz. I don't entirely dislike most of Takahashi's work, but I've come to realize that his writing style and quirks just doesn't really appeal to what I'm personally looking for in a toku show nowadays. Similarly, this is partly why I never managed to stick with Kingohger, since Takano was Takahashi's understudy and thus Kingohger had a lot of the same writing quirks.

Well, while Geats is definitely my least favorite Kamen Rider, I seem to be more sympathetic to Takahashi's nomination. Partially because at least a third of my complaints about Geats are definitely not Takahashi's fault, so I'm sure even if he uses the same script with the names changed, it will be better. Hopefully. Also, Baku is clearly not an invulnerable, detached deity, and there will clearly not be many riders in the show, which already adds to his prestige in my eyes.
In addition, Takahashi's appointment as the scriptwriter for the first international broadcast makes commercial sense. His shows are popular, talked about, and two of them have already received American releases. From the company's point of view, he is the best choice. Although in all fairness, Toshiki Inoue should have been hired as the scriptwriter. Then new viewers would have immediately felt all the pros and cons of the franchise at its maximum. And either swore off watching it again, or become loyal fans forever. If you step away from the writer. I like Baku as a loser dreamer, I like that he has a little sister. And the hunting cops are a great addition too. Gavv touched on the idea that some people see the riders as monsters, but with the candy costumes it didn't work out. Also the bike as a boss is super cool. I’m a little upset that it has a robot form, but on the other hand, it’s an additional toy. And robots are cool. |
