I don't think that's the same Cherubimon Gosei meant.

Because it sticks out like a sore thumb when side by side with the other two Celestial Digimon/Three Archangels.

Ophanimon's shoulders match the "wheel spinning inside wheel" thing of the Ophanim.
Seraphimon, though not on fire and having 4 extra wings (base Angemon's closer in this department since the seraphim have 6 wings), looks like a badass guardian of God's throne who constantly chants Sanctus.

Cherubimon... Is a puffy-ass harlequin bunny with no allusions in the slightest to this.

I mean, even a human face would be an improvement over the dopey one it has so it looks less out of place beside Ophanimon and Seraphimon.

I think the reason they went with the bunny jester look was simply to continue with the preexisting bunny line of evolution. And it is a kids show....predominantly. So they kept it at the simple animal-like form to keep it from creeping the kids out too much and to keep with the said evolutionary like I previously stated. Unlike some other Digimon out there. And also, from my old studies, Cherubim where originally just supposed animal looking in general. Not exactly cute or horrifying, but somewhere in between. *shrugs* But that came from a time long, long, ago when I was a kid.

My definition for back-to-basics was more along the lines of "going back to traditional evolutionary chains" for Digimon (Champions, Ultimates, Megas, etc.).

I actually do agree with you more in terms of that a new Digimon series should strive for a more original storyline than the previous series, but we definitely need to return to regular evolutions either way

People advocating that we should have partners with up to 3 Digimons max......I don't agree with you at all. This ain't Pokemon people, they are "partners" not "trainers".........you only need to "partner up" with 1.

Not even that, but it just looks bizarre considering how Angemon, MegaAngemon and Angewoman were already quite familiar and Seraphimon debuted alongside Cherubimon.
Heck, most of the issue is just that it looks out of place next to two other Digimon that... Bandai/Toei/Digimon people intended to act as a trio based on Angels.
And yeah a bunny evolves into it but back to those other two Digi-angels, Do Tailmon and Patamon look AT ALL like they'd evolve into what they do?
And I'm not even going at this theologically (if I did I'd complain about Ophanimon not being a gyroscope covered in eyes), it just irks me that Cherubimon looks so poofy. Similar to how a Matrix prefers Magna/Holydramon for not being a cute monster girl evolution because the cute monster girl who's irk him.


Also that particular Cherub pic I chose just because it contrasted nicely with "poofy harlequin bunny." :lol

But Cherubimon known as the "Beast Angel Digimon"? IF that's the case then he should look different than the others. As for the other twos evolutionary line....I can't defend them.

And I'd agree with you on the last point, if it wasn't for the fact that the games for Digimon are perfectly fine with giving you typically a max of 3 partners (in battle, anyway) at a time. This isn't some random mad thing I'm asking, just for them to implement something they've already done in the anime.

I just thought it would be interesting to see them make that longstanding part of Digimon somehow work in a show. Pokemon is about ditching your Pokemon for the next best thing. Digimon can still have a close partner relationship, just not limited to a 1-on-1.

I'm all for the original evolution levels, since they give you a working idea on how fucked the protagonists are going into a fight, so on that I agree. But when they aren't called Chosen Children/Digidestined, the characters are called Tamers, so it isn't ripping off Pokemon to have the characters depicted as running a small trio.

Concerning Cherubimon, Digimon always have weird designs. I can understand being frustrated with how it sticks out so much, but unless they pull a Xros Wars and redesign it, it's just something you have to deal with, unfortunately.

Yeah, I co-sign with you guys on the whole "no more Chosen Children/Digidestined" type deal as well.

There should only be one Digimon series where Digidestined exist, and that would be Adventure (and Zero Two, and the currently running Tri movies).

I absolutely facepalmed when Frontier attempted to do such a thing, they wasn't no Digidestined. Keep your "chosen ones" in Adventure, and let the other Digimon series figure out their own way of forming Digimon partnerships

Both are rabbits. They're twins and up until MegaGargomon Terriermon's line has nothing dog-like except the name "Terriermon". Gargomom and Rapidmon are rabbits too.

Don't know where you got that from, the wikis I use for information which use Bandai's database as a source claim that both Terriermon and Lopmon are classified as "Beast Digimon" with the design being inspired by rabbits.

I can see why people would think it's a dog and the name is very irritating, but saying Lopmon is a rabbit and Terriermon a dog makes no sense at all. It's the same Digimon with different colors and number of horns.

Not that these death battles are ever based on logic, but how could Digimon possibly loose? Almost any Champion Digimon is way larger than almost any Pokemon, and that's not counting Ultimates of Megas.

I love how Tai just started kicking Red's ass. And that made sense why Red wouldn't try and attack Tai directly and reacted with shock that Tai started beating him up, only POKEMON actually fight as per Pokemon League Rules of Conduct. Tai wouldn't know that so he would try and kick Red's ass in order to save Wargreymon.

Yeah. I love how that fucked him up. And in the end Charizard and Red became Ash..... >_>
