If those three panels are entirely what you're basing your argument off, then that's simply you choosing to infer it that way. I look at those three panels and see:

1) Joker at the door
2) A panel that expresses the severity of the Joker holding a gun at her at point blank range.
3) Barbara's realisation at what's going on.

That could be like, seconds at the most.

Also, to say she's have reacted the way you think is also taking how much Batgirl has changed over time. The Batgirl that got shot by the Joker was probably taking out minor league criminals at the most, not people like that Joker. Fan base or not that's pretty much how people saw her, and still many probably do now. Everyone bar Batman would probably have reacted in the same way. In a story that's entirely about how messed up the Joker is, that much is to be expected.

The story itself is incredibly demeaning in the way it portrays Barbara, but I really don't think this is an example of it.

Actually kind of excited by the Batman v. Superman trailer. I liked what I saw.

Didn't she think it was a friend of hers at the door? Her guard was down, it happens to the best of people (even that jackass Batman).

The Joker shows up at your door. Not in the Batcave, not out on patrol, at your door. For a second, if you were Barbra, you might be worried that he'd somehow figured out who you are. At that range, there is still only so much even she could do, and even then she still got shot. I'd have preferred Barbra go out fighting as well before she was "retired", but in this scenario it never appeared to me that she really had moment to do anything.

This is whole getting shot thing wouldnt even be such a controversy if it wasnt followed by this...

Man I can't wait for that film. It should be amazing as all hell. I just hope we get Conroy and Hamil again. Hearing Mark go into the utterly aggressive insanity of KJ Joker would be fantastic, especially for the song and his monologue about his past.

That Batman v Superman trailer looks pretty great. I thought the Wonder Woman was going to be relegated to a cameo, but I guess not. Batfleck looks great and Lexisenberg looks weird.

I'm wondering if Lex is going to play a much more minor role in this film as compared to a main villain. People have speculated that since Lex was going to be in Suicide Squad, that he was going to become president of the United states and his story arc is going to keep going.

That was terrible. Batman is now branding people with his Batarang? Lex has hair!! It seems to be all action and no plot. People are bowing down to Superman and he is accepting it. The CGI in the trailers is absolutely atrocious looking. Those scenes where Superman was flying over the battlefield makes the CGI in Terminator Genisys look good.

The only positive I can say is that at least it could have been a worse trailer.

Because its a trailer that mostly wants to show action? And there is enough plot hinted at with the ideology conflict between Clark and Bruce PLUS Superman having to deal with the aftermath of his fight against Zodd.

You dont know under what circumstances he is with those soldiers. He could easily do this against his will to not be declared an enemy by the worlds government. Or a terrorist group inspired by him and since its fucking Superman he would deal with it in a different way and NOT fight them.

We are still almost a year away from its release which makes it clear that the cg in those trailers is not final at all.

Dude, calm down. Lex is going to be bald. That's confirmed. He's just wearing a wig. Gene Hackman did the exact same thing in the Christopher Reeve films. Batman branding people isn't really that far off from the kind of violence a Batman who lost Jason Todd is capable of. Superman is clearly uncomfortable with people bowing down to him.

And, honestly, the fact that you're judging a probably two-and-a-half hour movie based off of a three-minute clip already is fairly irrational, especially considering that they do introduce a lot of plot elements in this trailer that they didn't in the teaser.

I just watched the BvS trailer & ... (I can't believe I'm going to type this!) ... Batfleck is the best of the 3!!!

The problem is I don't see Batman or Superman. I see Owlman and Ultraman. I see Batgod and Superjerk. I don't see the heroes I grew up with or even the heroes that have been in the comics for the last 75+ years. I see joyless super villains being disguised as heroes.

For all those Flash and Arrow fans, they've announced new/returning characters (and for some, who'll portray them) and other details for season 2 and season 4.

For Flash: Teddy Sears will portray Jay Garrick/Golden Age Flash. Shantel VanSanten will portray Patty Spivot. They've also confirmed that Wally West will appear and that Zoom will be the villain of the season although it isn't confirmed if it's Hunter Zolomon or another Reverse-Flash. Grodd will also return and new Rogues will appear

For Arrow: Amell confirmed that he's called Green Arrow now (finally) and has a new suit. Neal McDonough (Dum Dum Dugan from the MCU) will portray Damien Darhk. Anarky will appear in the series and Mr. Terrific will appear as well (although they haven't specified which one) and will work with Felicity and will be gay.

Also, Hawkman will appear in Legends of Tomorrow

Look at him in the trailer. He just looks like a douchebag. He is there having people bow down to him. He is flying around like he owns the place. He looks at Batman like he hates him when that is not who Superman is.

Now if DC were to reveal that this movie universe is actually the Justice Lords or CSA, it would all make sense and I would be cool with that.

Arrow - Love the new suit, love that they are bringing Mr Terrific into it, but not liking Anarky. Stop bringing in Batman villains!!

Flash - Not liking the idea that Zoom will be the villain because we just had a speedster as the villain for the first season. It should be Grodd. I love that Jay and Wally are going to be in it, and that Cisco is going to become Vibe.

Legends of Tomorrow - Doctor Who but with DC characters? That works for me. Love the idea of them fighting Savage in different time periods, but I really hope they reveal who is playing Savage soon.

Suicide Squad really bad looking trailer - It looks, meh. Everyone was cheering when Harley came on screen but then forgot to cheer for Croc, Boomerang, Katana, and Enchantress. They do know there are other characters in this movie, right? Also, Will Smith seems to have forgotten that Deadshot wears his mask 90% of the time. Oh, still not convinced with Joker because he just seemed like some bad cosplayer with tattoos and a grill.

Calm down. We'll wait to see the actual movie to see if these guys are "Batjerk" and "Supergod" or whatever. And you also have to realize that we do not know the context of those faces in that Batman and Superman conflict asides from some sort of ideological difference. Maybe Lex manipulated both of them to hate each other? Maybe Batman or Superman's loved ones got hurt due to the other's actions? Maybe they took something that made their faces continually being all grim dark?

WE DON'T FUCKING KNOW. WAIT FOR THE GOD DAMN MOVIE.

Well, considering the fact that this is the first meeting between Batman and Superman and Batman has really only been trying to incapacitate Superman, I think Superman can be forgiven for not liking him very much. And it's fairly clear that he's not comfortable with all of the bowing and such.

Comparing them to the Justice Lords is a bit much, and the Crime Syndicate is definitely a far cry.

Also, Supergirl has cast Peter Facinelli as Maxwell Lord and Diggle will be getting a costume of sorts for Arrow Season4

I am looking forward to all this awesome stuff for all the DC stuff. =)

Unrelated to SDCC, but I just watched Justice League: Gods and Monsters and I really enjoyed it. The whole misfit/anti-hero Justice League is no new concept, but it worked well here. The overall plot is rather weak, but it gets the development for the characters and the world very well without feeling too forced and it has some very nice ideas. To be honest this might be a movie telling three good origin stories for three different characters without being to cramped, and I haven’t seen one of those in a good while.

I enjoyed the alternate universe Kirk Langstrom as Batman the most, I'm happy they didn’t went with an alternate Bruce Wayne. I haven’t read much about Manbat in the last years, honestly the origin story of this Dr. Langstrom feels more like Morbius the Living Vampire to me. At least the recent incarnation of the character. Not a bad thing, I think the vampire Batman was one of the best things this movie had to offer.

Superman as General Zod's son is interesting, for one because none of his character feels too much like Zod since he was still raised by humans and for two because he isn’t evil. Just an alternate character done right. Wonder Woman I have no idea who she's supposed to be, I don't know much about DC's space adventures.

The only thing I have to criticize is the forceful inclusion of known names. I get that Victor Fries is still an important scientist even in this universe, but do we really need all these Easter-eggs? It was rather painful seeing a scientist getting killed in the arctic, then his ID-card falls out of his pocket and it reads “Victor Fries”. Really? Come on. Same with Silas Stone.

As I said the overall plot is weak, especially when it turns out who the bad guy behind it all is, but I enjoyed the story around it. Animation and action-wise it's Bruce Timm, just awesome animation done right. The cost-cutting 3D-models that pop up here and there are bad, but not overused.

If you're interested in a good animated flick and if you don't hate alternate universe stories I would give it a shot.

I was calm, but that is still not Batman or Superman. No one was doing anything heroic in the trailer. However, the worst aspect was Martha Kent. WTF?! "Go save the world, or don't, who cares, you don't owe them anything." THAT IS NOT MARTHA!!! That would be like Uncle Ben telling Peter, "With great power comes the decision to do whatever the hell you want because no one can be better than you."

You keep saying that, but Superman saved someone from a fire, saved astronauts from a failed launch, saved (or was about to save) tsunami victims, and Batman himself (well, Bruce Wayne) ran into a collapsing building's debris feild to save people.

My visceral hatred for the piles of trash that are BVS & Suicide Squad aside, the CW panel coverage sounded amazing!

Patty Spivot & Jay Garrick added to Flash Season 2. The teaser shown also showed what appeared to be Barry running, but with blue lightning around his body. So it may not actually have been Barry. In my experience I only remembers 3 Flashes with blue coloring related to them. Walter West who had blue lightning. John Fox who wore a blue costume, and New 52's Future Barry Allen who had both. Blue Lantern Flash would be highly unlikely if not impossible here.

So we could be looking at an alternate Flash in the teaser. Jay is clearly going to be from Earth 2 as well so we'll see where that goes. Barry going into the wormhole at the end of season 1 most definitely means he's paying Earth 2 a visit now. And Professor Zoom is going to be our villain!!

And as for Arrow the new season 4 costume looks absolutely amazing. Fantastic mix of modern elements and he appears to finally be adopting the name Green Arrow as well! Add on top of that the news that a new version of Mister Terrific will be joining Ollie's team and that Anarky will be a villain this season, and I think we're off to a pretty perfect start!

For all the utter disgust the DC films keep evoking in me the CW TV shows bring me ridiculous amounts of joy. Can't wait for the fall season.

CW's shows are great, especially Flash, and I agree, Suicide Squad looks like trash.

DC is making me very happy recently. I am in love with Supergirl, Flash and Arrow continue to be amazing, Suicide Squad looks good, and Batman V Superman is just.. Damn. I loved what of Wonder Woman I saw, Gal Gadot is just amazing, and Ben? His Batman looks dead on for Arkham City batman and this makes me happy.

I am a content fanboy right now.

The only hints of Jay & Earth 2 in the teaser were dialogue. Jay actually speaks and tells Barry his world is in danger. But the entire teaser there's a Flash running with what appears to be blue lighting. Which implies one of the other alternate Earth or future flashes from a parallel timeline may be in store this season. Other than that they didn't actually show anything else. But the actors were cast for Jay & Patty.

People are choosing to bow down to him on their own, and he's visibly uncomfortable with it. If he was a jerk, he'd have his hands raised welcoming their praise, like Zod. Instead he's not enjoying their reverence of him at all. He's just flying around, nothing about how he'd doing it is any different from how previous Superman have been shown to fly, and if a rich asshole started to have a personal vendetta against you because a psycho general knocked you through some buildings against your best efforts, yeah, most people wouldn't be staring fondly at Bruce either.

I like that they somehow made them nicer than the Crime Syndicate, in that they actually want to help people and by the end they're getting less dark than they initially started as (except Bekka, Bekka was always good).

I was watching some of the DC TV panels today on YouTube. My favourites were definitely the Arrow, Flash, and Legends of Tomorrow Panels. The Gotham and Supergirl panels were okay, not that bad.

What I really found weird and totally random were those two who appeared before the Flash and Arrow panel started, dressed as bizarre variations of the Flash and Arrow and ran from one end of the stage to the other. I don't know if that was suppose to be part of the panels or were fans that found their way onto the stage, but it was really bizarre and had no context whatsoever. Just really weird watching it then thinking "what was with female Arrow in a white dress and Jamaican/African American (I don't know the man's nationality or race, so I was guessing) Flash?"
