She can be a bit too loud for me, personally, but not enough room dislike her. Just saying that the humor didn't always click for me
|
Finished Double. Pretty fantastic series. Bit of a slow start, but once it starts picking up it really gets going. Glad they went for the full on happy ending instead of the bitter sweet ending things seemed to be leading too. Next up, after a highly beloved, fun, happy Rider series, I figured why not go the opposite direction? It's time to experience the infamous Kamen Rider Faiz!

I liked Fiaz,..though I get why some don't. (Communication between people would've solved a lot of problems.)
Though I think that was sort of the point,..the 'message'...so to speak. It's not lost on me that the Henshin device is a communication device. ..plus Fiaz looks cool. The blue lady/smart lady I really liked for some reason,...she was pretty,..but more importantly...she's a complete mystery. Her character is never explained. That drove me nuts a little bit. Then in the Faiz movie,..you really see what she's capable of. ..and still she's never explained. https://i.imgur.com/c7RGcOw.jpg _____ I finished Hibiki the other night and watched the movie (which was pretty good.) I didn't want to like Hibiki, I thought the music motif was really dumb, (and this is from someone who made a living with music for a long time),..and the early episodes were actually painful to get through. But the show turned out to be pretty good. And Hibiki looked cool as an Oni. (always important that the Hero looks cool.) Not sure what to watch next. I'm torn between KRider Black, Kabuto, or OOO's. ..or maybe Den-O,...or Decade......decisions decisions. #FirstWorldProblems |
whoa, I just wiki'd Smart Lady to see if her character got more background than I saw on the show,..they mentioned she was the same actress who played Nanako on Ryuki.
Mind = Blown. I didn't even recognize her. http://kamenrider.wikia.com/wiki/Smart_Lady http://kamenrider.wikia.com/wiki/Nanako_Shimada |
I started the first 3 episodes of the Original Series and loving it so far. I like the action and how it is a bit serialized right now. I can't wait for more.
|
I started Kabuto last night, I'm about 4 episodes in.
Liking it so far. It's reminding me of Agito, which I really like. I don't like that it's doing the 'reflect sunlight directly at the camera' thing, like Kuuga and Agito did, (I actually really hate that and find it incredibly annoying),..but the show itself and the characters definitely have my interest. ...dont' know why the mirror/sunlight/camera lens thing was so popular in the Heisei era,..ugh. *facepalm* |
Having gone through all 7 other Heisei Phase 2 shows - as well as being completely caught up on Build - I'm going through Ex-Aid, albeit taking my time for now. 10 episodes + Heisei Generations in, and it's alright so far. Nothing amazing, nothing bad either; just suffers from the problem most rider shows so far have for me -- takes a while for the good stuff to REALLY get going.
It's why I've been loving Build so much. Its pacing is downright masterful. |
I'm a few episodes into Gaim and don't know if I can watch any more. I see that so many people like it, yet the stupid fruit theme costumes with dumb "fruit arms" that every rider has and dance crap puts me off. I grew up in the Showa era and liked W as the stories were good and the rider outfit is like a modern day Showa rider style. It's nice and clean that's like a modern OG KR costume.
I also love Amazons. I also tried watching Den-O and Fourze and couldn't watch more than a few episodes. I'm also watching Build and it seems more up my alley. |
Watching Kabuto,..really liking it. He's an odd character but an interesting one.
TheBee is cool, Gatack is cool,....I hit episode 29 and 30 and... WTF Just Happened? This show just grabbed the wheel, yanked it sideways and steered into an embankment. I went from watching a weird little soap opera with weird people doing crazy super-hero things,...to watching Iron Chef? Oh my homey Jebus,..what the hell just happened? I want to get back to intrigue, suspense, action, RIDER KICK!!!!.....I'm watching people have a cooking competition,...again. *sigh* I love you Kamen Rider but sometimes you switch gears and I don't understand what the hell you're doing. |

I must've repressed when Ryuki and Blade did it, but I was really into this show,..chewing through it quickly ..then....embankment!
:lol |

oh I do remember those.
This felt like a much harder turn though. Like suddenly I'm watching Iron Chef. at least it was only two episodes and things are back to normal now. |

yeah, maybe I should just chalk it up to 'Wacky Japan', ..stuff.
|
I will never not cry at the last few episodes of Double (and Fourze for that matter)...
|
Lame!

I'm up to episode 27 of Den-O. Watching it raw cause OZC's been stuck in time for months.
It was really, really boring me for a long while there. The human cast just blows, especially the three stooges that hang around Milk Dipper. Ryotaro's sister being the biggest among them. God, she is just unbearable. The show has picked up a lot since Yuuto and Deneb showed up, though, the two are a lot of fun, together and when interacting with the rest of the cast (the Den-Liner cast, anyway). Also, them being around means the show has a little less time to waste on whatever stupid shit is going down at the cafe, which is good. Even Ryotaro is getting a little better lately. The whole dragging Ryotaro out of time for the movie climax stuff that's been going on for the past few episodes is actually pretty cool. |
Can't stop watching Ex-Aid!
|
I have 4 episodes left of Kabuto and for some reason I've put off watching them (and the movie), for weeks.
I should really try to finish it up this weekend if I can make time for it. |
I still haven't progressed in a while. I've got Kuuga, Agito, Hibiki and Blade still on my list, and then I'll have caught up completely with the main Heisei stuff (I'm counting from Kuuga to Build there, not just Kuuga to Decade).
Just having trouble deciding on which to start next. Any recommendations in that regard? |

Yeah, read a short summary of the plot, look at the suits, decide what seems the most interesting to you and watch that, you can't really go wrong with any of these shows.
My personal recommendation is Kuuga, it's one of my favorites. |
another vote for making sure you watch Kuuga before Agito.

Finished watching Kabuto (plus the Directors Cut Movie) this weekend.
The last few episodes of the show weren't spectacular imo. Not sure if it lost momentum for me or what but I had a heck of a time getting back to and finishing the last 4 episodes. However the movie I thought was really good. And since most movies seem to be sort of side stories that don't tie into the show, I thought it was really neat how the movie seemed so much like that,..until the last couple minutes, which not only completely retrofitted itself into the main show, but actually managed to close some loose ends and answer one of the biggest mystery's of the show, "How did Kabuto get the first belt?" Very cool. Usually the movies seem like such side stories it was really neat seeing it actually tie-in and answer questions about the main show. |
Hey
I've been watching build and have finished watching fourze and have some questions. I'm going to watch Heisei phase 2 seasons (I'm interested in them all) and was wondering if I should just watch them in order (W - ex-aid) for the team-up movies or if I should watch them in order of interest |
I'm honestly a bit surprised that hit you in the last four episodes. Kabuto lost momentum for me a lot sooner than that. I wanna say for me it was around the last 10-15 episodes where the show started feeling like a chore.
Kabuto really feels like it makes some huge missteps in the latter half to me at least. |
No I agree, that's why by the time I got to the last 4 I was really just sort of tired of it.
I liked the Kabuto suit, and the fighting, and some of the characters. But it really just started going in circles. You could probably condense that season down to half the size and have a really good season. ..(could probably say that about a lot of Kamen Rider seasons.) Just started Den-O last night. Not quite sure yet how I feel about it. A lot of the Rider shows takes a while to grow on me. I have to get used to the costumes and characters. |

is that when she disappeared to the other planet?
Or the whole Daisuke and Gon characters that are seemingly a big deal, and he's actually a Kamen Rider, then they're kind of abandoned until the finale episode where they make a token appearance? ...the more I think about it the more that series was sort of all over the place. The fights were cool though. And I liked the 'Clock Up!' feature ..sort of Matrix'ish with the slow motion shots of people and things hanging in the air. |
I wanna say my interest in Kabuto started waning around when the Hopper Riders showed up. Not that they were at fault, it was just the easiest thing to point to.
Honestly I did really like at least the first half or so of Kabuto. Though I kind of think the focus on Tendou is what hurts it the most for me. |
I'm on fourze now and the teacher getting banished and off the show seemed out of place. She seemed like she would be around for the whole season. I'm on episode 21 or so and waiting for it to really take off like gaim. I hated gaim for the first 15 eps then it got better, but I thought the ending was dumb. Couldn't Mai just give kouta the fruit? Or was it because she went back into time, she was locked out of giving the fruit to someone until there was only one left standing?

Drake’s actor was a popular idol at the time, which is why he kept leaving the show for long stretches of time. |
ahh, I guess that makes sense.
So much behind the scenes drama,..on that drama? lol |

So she went back in time to try and stop Kouta, Mitchy, and Kaito from becoming riders. But because the fruit's power or something, she couldn't directly tell them not to become riders. And her warnings ended up being really vague so the three ended up becoming more determined to join the battle. |

I'm 5 episodes into Den-O.
It's a pretty silly show. Momotaros is awesome though! His swagger and mannerisms me of Blood Stalk, but cooler. https://i.imgur.com/0S7Rk18.jpg |
Den-O was my first Kamen Rider season, it's pretty enjoyable.
Just don't expect a plot, there is none. |
Den-O is a really fun show. If you like the humor you'll really enjoy it.
|
two reasons to keep watching...
https://i.imgur.com/bfORd7X.jpg I have to watch it. Just need Den-O, Kiva, and Decade, and I've seen all the Heisei Rider shows. ..need to decide whether to watch 'W' again or jump right to 'OOO'. |
