Regardless, bolas would be a unique weapon and they fit the cherry motif perfectly, so I'm sticking with that. I can see how an axe may work, but that'd be really contrived. |

-There's a type of burst ammunition called a Grapeshot. -Strawberries are shaped a little like the blade of a Kunai. -When a Mango is traditionally cut and opened, the square shapes look like one half of a blunt mace weapon. -Pineapple looks like the end of a spiked flail. -Kurokage's lance is like a Pine needle. (that's my best guess.) -The end of a Acorn can be fashioned to look like the head of a blunt hammer. -etc... Personally I think it's pretty clear that the majority of the weapon selections were inspired by the fruit they belong to in some way. For most of these, obviously the fruit was decided first, the choice of weapon came later to reflect the said fruit. Not the other way around. |

I mean, Kachidoki was more powerful than the Energy Lock Seeds and it had it's own weapon. Quote:
|
Aren't Energy Lockseeds more artificial than standard ones though? They're more powerful, but Yggdrasil might not gotten so far advanced with them as to give them all unique weapons.
Meanwhile Kachidoki was created by a godlike being, so naturally thats going to be more powerful and get its own weapon. |

But of course all of this is conjecture, and the real reason is Bandai didn't make individual weapons due to lack of budget or lack of planning. Still, there's nothing in-universe that logically prohibits the ELS' from having unique weapons. |

But yeah, this is all just trying to apply an excuse as to why it didn't happen rather than a genuine reason why it couldn't. |

Now go ahead, make your predictable quippy comeback post. I'm ready. :rolleyes |
To be fair though, Ryoma did say that the main reason the Sengoku Drivers have all of those unique catchphrases is for his own amusement (basically). The Genesis Drivers in comparison are no-nonsense, less gimmicky versions of the prototypes. I'd imagine Ryoma wanted to keep the most powerful Rider gear amongst him and his colleagues so that the power wouldn't be used against him.
That being said the Sonic Arrow pretty much covers everything you'd need in a weapon, and in that regard doesn't sacrifice functionality and practicality for the sake of gimmicky weapons. Of course this is just my way of making sense of something that was likely only done to save money. :lol |

My personal opinion is that I think the reason why the Sengoku Driver was given to the Beat Dancers because they were gimmicky and Ryoma saw them as kids. Gimmicks tend to be more for kids. While the Genesis Drivers were given to the adults because they weren't gimmicky. *shrugs* My opinion only. |
On the other hand.

A couple questions about Hibiki, as I just started the show and was considering buying him:
How durable is he? I think it was Split Lip who had one of the wrists snap off; is this a common issue? I've also heard about fragility with his horns. Also, what quality is his paint? Has anyone had any issues with flaking/chipping? Thanks in advance. |
Mine is super solid. The hands haven't been a problem at all for me to swap. The horns are certainly thin and sharp, but as long as you're careful enough to avoid a fatal shelf dive, I'm sure they're fine.
The only place where the paint is a bit dodgy for me is under the thigh armor. Out of the box, the paint tends to stick under there and when you rotate the thighs for the first time, a little bit of the purple underneath flakes off to reveal some silver. Unless you rotate the legs completely outward it's not very noticeable, though. I'm not even sure how common a problem it is, either. Also the black wash on the hands sometimes leaves black smudges on my fingers when I swap them. :p |

Yeah, My Hibiki's wrists broke. I keep my Figuarts in the basement, where it's cooler, and honestly I feel like it' just a matter of time before the other hand breaks. The pegs are ridiculously small and not ball joints, so keep it in a warmer, upper floor area so the hands maintian their rubberiness for easier swapping.
Otherwise he's perfect. Unfortunately mine fell and blunted one of his horns. Nothing they could've done to avoid it, just a freak accident but I had to sand them both down to not-perfect ends. It's a shame that the figure's so amazing, yet my copy is rendered virtually useless by a dead left hand and ruined portrait. As long as you're more careful than me, you'll be riding high with a wonderful, wonderful figure. Quote:
Also, the Sengoku drivers were still handed out to Takatora and the Yggdrasil guards. And Ryouma admitted that he liked the gimmicks of the drivers, like the little phrases. And again, Lock Seeds and Sengoku drivers aren't real. They're toys for kids, and the Sonic Arrow plague was really lame by that standard. Whatever not-actually-explained-in-the-show-explanations there are, it doesn't change the fact that they're really boring. |
My Hakaider 3-pack just shipped. As one of my most eagerly anticipated figures of the year I'm very excited to get that in hand :D

All these kids with there fruit toys and the adults with this bad ass bladed bows. |

And it's not really badass at all, it's just a tech bow/arrow. It has no motif, no creative design. It functions like any other toy bow and arrow, limits posing ability, and just looks gross with so many characters weilding it. It aesthetically clashes where the unique weapons didn't. "All these kids with their fruit weapons" is massively more entertaining, creative, and fun than these so-called "adults" and their one lame ass weapon that the show said is cool, but really isn't. |

Yeah it's subjective, everything is subjective. Just because I don't pointlessly drop an asinine "IMO" after every sentence doesn't mean I think otherwise. You know that, I know that. Nobody else is saying "in my opinion." |

...By the way. Remember when this thread was about S.H. Figuarts and not a pointless argument about silly weapons? Seems distant now. |

Alright guys, let's please get back on topic about Figuarts, if there is any need to further discuss the weapons, it'd probably be best to make its own thread so we don't further derail this one, okay? :)
