ATTACK RIDE-O INVISIBLE! I know W is likely the next, but I'm pleading for Kiva or OOO. Hibiki proves they can do anything. |

For those that are interested, Hacchaka has photos of Kiva-la up:

Speaking of Kivala, I got a payment request for her.

I think Kivala is one of the best looking female Rider Designs.

Speaking of which, how do you think they'll do other releases for the characters that already have SS figures. For example, would Ibuki or Kuuga's alternate forms also be SS releases, or would they just be high-quality normal releases? I'm mainly thinking about the Oni, as they don't have any other SHFs, so they'd have to be based on the Hibiki mold. |
Nah I think Femme is the best looking with her cape and all

Was Black a SS release? Because they also did renewal Black RX and he was a normal release. |

Also, my Hibiki is slightly taller than a normal Figuart. Is that just Hibiki or is SS in a slightly altered scale? |

Yay, Baron and Ryugen came!
Boo, they both have quality issues. |
what kind of issues?
|
Baron has a tiny... streak? Fleck? Of silver on his left arm. Easily ignored. And his right thigh below the silver I guess didn't get as even of a red paint job over the silver because it's "faded" compared to the left. And some minor blemishes near the top of his cape, also easily ignored.
Ryugen's fine from the waist down, but his helmet wasn't sandwiched together all the way, and when I tried to press it, his crest/brow just broke off on the left. Like it was already cracked or broken. And before this, I noticed there's a small crack in his right eye at the top. It's not super noticable (and funnily enough looks like actual cracked glass) but his brow/crest is apparenty moulded in a clear plastic, because it's not painted as thick as it should and is sort of transparent gold. Otherwise they're fine, just dissapointing after Gaim was issue-free. I really love Baron. The carbonated bubble effect is so cool. |
Well, that sucks. Across the board I've had really great luck with Figuarts, but the Gaim figures in particular have been all really well executed. The only real problems I've had with them is a few of them have one hip joint that's mildly to annoyingly loose.
|
I think it's just the luck of the draw. I'm still going to collect as many Gaim Figuarts as I can.
|
Baron lemon energy was a crap shoot across the board.
Lots of QC with him reported when he was initially released. Specifically silver paint apps being sloppy or silver in places it shouldn't be. I can't speak from experience since it was the only gaim release I never bothered with, but three out of the 6 people I know who got him had issues with paint. Gaim figuarts started out very strong and slowly have gotten worse QC wise as time went on for me, loose joints are the main offender. I'm waiting for the day they all start to fade to silver since practically every gaim figuart is metallics over a silver base....that always seems like gamble for longevity of paint color. |
Haven't had any QC issues with any of my Gaim Figuarts and ibhavevall of them and a few doubles. The worst problem I've had is with Kiwami's chest piece looking a little cloudy

According to Tag Hobby we get an announcement of SHF Proto Drive and a "Dark Flame"-effect soon. Don't know if it's from this month’s Figure Oh and we haven't gotten scans yet, or if Bandai plans to show those at the Tamashii Nations event in late October.

Only a matter of time before we get the Kamen Rider Ghost figuarts which I am HIGHLY anticipating! and also, yay for Tridoron coming!

I also really like the Machine Ghostriker, which is likely to get a figuarts along with its Rider, so I'm also looking forward to that! Also curious to see how they'll handle all the forms...Ghost seems to be getting something like...twenty of those. I hope Newton at least isn't too difficult to get ahold of, regardless of how they end up doing these... |
I imagine the hood will attach via a small ball joint at the base of the neck, so it can move around when the head turns and be swapped out for a folded-back version.
|
I agree about the swappable hood, I fully expect that, but a movable hood? Looking at SHF Kylo Ren, I highly doubt that'll happen. But of course, he has no feature to take the hood off in the first place, so maybe they can get a joint in there. Would be cool.
I would suspect you're forced to take the hood off if you want to articulate the head properly though. And if last year was any indication, teasers for the SHF Ghost should drop as early as mid October with a full reveal at the Tamashii Nations Event. |
When I say movable, I really mean "wigglable." I don't imagine it will turn with the head, but maybe allow for added left-right movement.
|
They may not do a raised hood at all. It's clear that the hood has been down in all the action shots since his first movie appearance; I suspect putting the hood down will be his post-henshin signature motion. I'd love a swappable hood - I think the base form looks better with the hood up - but Figuarts hasn't shied away from anemic accessory counts of late. Other than the Gan Gun Sabre, what else would Ghost come with?
(Oh. Accessories to fiddle with the Driver. Hm...) |

These figures are too expensive to cheap out like this. Raised hood or GTFO. Quote:
