If you're taking ideas,how about the monster of the week shows up on a minimized window on whatever computer its infecting/came from.Then since the VI has control of the system,have the mouse move over and hit the Maximize button on the top right of the window,not only making the monster full screen but also making him grow in the computer/real world.

How about OnoreCyan, incompetent in practically every field of villiany* has a small glitch.
While the intent was actually duplication, he can replace "1" with "1000" in the programming of the monster, causing it to grow.
And after his final defeat or defection or whatever renders the villains to use a new growing method.

*He ignores "Keep Off Grass" signs, rips off matress tags, and destroys the series foot soldiers alongside the heroes since he sees "wrong" as not doing what you're supposed too. So that by helping the heroes is doing wrong and therefor a villainous thing. Even though it's not.
