Kind of undercut by the fact that Bay uses real, lifesized explosions instead of miniatures. AND has ties to the military to blow up an entire desert village.

Also, he once launched a car into the fourth floor of derelict a building by accident. And he may not have set fire to his actors, but he put them within six inches of timed charges set to explode at their feet.
