Where do you all see the Gen 3 hate? I see so much fanwank for it I've come to completely despise it because it seems so unreasonably praised.

Besides, Gen 3 did a lot of things...like...like...abilities and double battles. |
Id say abilities and natures were the important things made in gen 3 since i cant stand double and triple battles, although rotation battles i dont mind for some reason.
|
Gen 1 started the franchise.
I rank it 2nd worst generation. Starting something doesn't mean jack to me if the rest of the game was terrible. I don't nostalgia. |

My main beef is that 150 Pokémon are very, very limited especially with no dark Pokémon. |

I feel no need for remakes though. |
Am I the only one who liked Steel over Dark? :lol
Anyway, thanks to Gen 3 being so terrible, Gen 1 doesn't have to hold the title of worst! *Claps* My main beef with Gen 3 was that it had no idea what it wanted to do until Emerald reared it's head. |
Ruby and Sapphire remain as soe of my favorite games of all time.

Okami is one of my favorite games of all time. I can give you a detailed list of what it did so wrong that it's almost not worth playing because of. |

The Pokémon fandom can be odd in that sense. I've loved every version. Gen 3 was fun. My favorite Legendary comes from it. I still haven't finished Gen 5. But I'll move on to 6 anyway. I'll finish 5 later. Lol.
I don't think I really have a favorite or least favorite. At this point, if I had to choose, I'd say Gen 1 is my least favorite. Simply because they've made so many changes and added so many features and refined everything so well that Gen 1 is stupidly tedious. Walking only(until you get the bike way later). One Special stat, atrocious sprite art and SLOW battle animations. I can't play Gen 1 anymore unless it's on an emulator with a speed up feature. |
I can't play Gen 1 period. It's so stupidly broken that it makes me remember why I value Gens 4 and 5.

Well the ONLY thing that I hate about the new games is that they are only playable on either: 3DS, 3DS XL, or the new 2DS & 1DS, other than that, I'm TOTALLY STOCKED for the games, just means that I has to buy a 2DS as I can't be bothered to try and afford either the 3DS or 3DS XL and the 1DS is better if you don't suffer from headaches *I deal with literal ones every day now* and if you don't mind using a TV to play a pokemon game xD.

I've never really given it much thought, and I'm a casual player at most, so I haven't got some deep thought out reasoning for this, but I'd say my favourite generation is the second.
Generation five for me is boring, there are WAY to many Pokémon and the way the game creates false difficulty with ridiculous level spikes from town to town makes progression slow and monotonous. Generation three and four were the ones I skipped, I don't really know why, I just didn't own a DS and at that point I had zero interest in Pokémon. I barely care now. I did play FireRed at this point, if that counts, but obviously that was just a remake. Generation One is obviously where it all started, I have a huge amount of love and nostalgia for these games. But let's be honest, fifteen years have not been kind to these games...like at all. But the second generation? This shit was the bomb! When I was like...nine. The graphics were improved, we had an entirely new world to explore, a whole new set of a hundred Pokémon and by this point in the franchise tweaking a few things here and there and adding a couple of Pokémon was still a new and exciting concept, not something we'd roll our eyes at a decade later as they keep churning these games out. I still remember Pokémon Crystal being like the most exciting thing ever. |

But of course it's for the new hardware. That's the point. I don't really think anyone should be mad about that. :/ Until Gen IV, I didn't even know the Physical/Special split was based on types previously. It just wasn't anything I thought about. But after learning it would be changed, a whole lot finally made sense. And seriously that was a big and very much needed change. |

And as it was stated before 1DS isn't a thing. One dimension is a line. You can't play things on a line. Even if you don't use the 3D feature on a 3DS/XL, it's still worth having. The 2DS is not as stupid as everyone is making it out to be, but I've bought a 3DS and then upgraded to the XL, so I don't have a reason for the 2DS. |

But that's exactly the thing I expect Game Freak to do :( Also gen 3 aren't bad games, but they feel completely backwards compared to all the things introduced in gen 2. Unique sprites for each version, moving sprites (I know that came from Crystal), day/night removed... Emerald fixed some of the stuff but I'd definitely consider it the weakest generation in terms of game mechanics. |

I caught...a shiny Machoke. This is just so sad.
Well, maybe Machamp will get a Mega-Evolution too!?? |

As for Gens I liked, Gen 4 takes it. Not for D/P/Pt, but for the Gen 2 remakes. It had all the fun of Gen 2 with the balanced and revised gameplay of Gen 4. It was glorious. |

Still, they had some great ideas. Such as having your Pokémon follow you around. Why didn't anyone do that anymore?!? |
The gen 2 remakes were simply perfect Games.

And I loved that concept. I wish other games did that... |

Hmm, I think I'm done with leaks. The games are close enough to release that I can sit back and try to remain in the dark with remaining, non-official info.

Hoenn may have been difficult to navigate with far too much water travel but a lot more of my new favorites came from that generation than probably any other to date. |

Gen 2 has... Typhlosion, Feraligatr, Ampharos, Crobat, Espeon, Umbreon, and Tyranitar. Those are the only standouts to me. But then they're offset by the likes of Stantler, Girafarig, the Hoppip line, Sunkern (literally the weakest Pokémon), and all of those weak babies. I still probably like Gen 4 overall if only for Electivire heh... But I do like Inernape, Empoleon, Starapter, Luxray, Roserade, Drapion, Garchomp, Lucario, Mamoswine, Magmortar, Rhyperior. |
I like tons of Pokemon from all generations. I think gameplay is more important than the Pokemon selection. My least favorite gen gave me my favoritest Pokemon of all time forever and ever, Milotic, after all.
http://i.imgur.com/YctMgcv.png Such a lovely Pokemon. I hope Feebas is part of the Kalos dex. |
One of the greatest changes Gen. V made was the Prism Scale. Getting Feebas to evolve the old way was a pain in the ASS.

Done with Origins, it was a fun nostalgia trip, but due to the compressed format nothing to write home about.
Two things, he does catch the 150 by ep 4, and Charizard becomes Mega Charizard X. That, I didn't expect... |
I may or may not have went through extreme pleasure when i saw Charizard x, god so amazing.

Okay I think I spoiled myself more than I wanted to. Better stop with the leaks. :/
