Really? Because I've heard people say Wing is the worst. And just because a series has always had a specific trope, doesn't justify it if its a bad trope. In Wing, people literally sit around and talk about the show's theme of war, sacrifice soilders and what it takes. In something like Kamen Rider, they don't sit around and talk about it as much and its incoporated into the action of the show a lot more.

Well, I finished rewatching Phantom Blood, the first part of JoJo. I'll watch Battle Tendency a little while later.

Finally got around to watching Highschool of the Dead's opening episode, I found some Bluray rips so I assume they are completely uncensored which is what I was waiting for. You can't half ass ecchi zombie slaying.

And MAN was it great! Takashi is cool as hell, the art direction was fantastic, the animation was great, the action superb and I loved the subtle tweaks to the classic zombie. I fucking hated Rei though.

Toriko episodes 1-7

So Toriko looks like Goku and that posion guy looks like grown up gohan. Weird.

Seriously though, I like the story, especially the first part of the Wolf story arc. I hope this can be a good series with little to no filler.

I'm disappointed to find out that they're not showing One Piece tonight.

It'd just be really bad filler anyways... We're in for at least two more months of filler until anything good happens thanks to how slowly it's aired. :/

Also was finally going to be able to watch the next episode of the SAO dub after not being able to stay up late enough the past 2 weeks haha. But I guess that's not happening tonight either.

The last episode aired was 221, part of movie-related filler. So that's 7 more episodes (and a movie they probably won't air) until we get to the Water 7 arc.

Edit: Although I just double checked and apparently the 2 episodes immediately before the recognized started of that arc also aren't filler; they're the ones where they meet Aokiji. So I guess it's only 5 more.

Movie related filler? What do you mean by that? 220 starts the Lost Memories 5 parter.

Actually, only 3 episodes technically. Even though the Foxy stuff in 225 and 226 are filler, everything that occurs leads directly into the confrontation with Aokiji.

Meh, I know nothing about the older movies and assumed the filler around its release date was related to it, as they do now. Still, what has aired of this Lost Memories 5 parter has bored me to death.

And just because they changed it in the anime so it leads into Aokiji's appearance doesn't mean I want to see Foxy again. Hate him. It's just pure filler.

Toriko episodes 8-13

About half way through this disc, I realized the pacing slowed down a hell of a lot, and became the slow shonen format people talk about when they talk about stuff like Naruto and One Piece. I like the Regeal Mamaoth arc so far, but I think Toriko is too way obsessed with scale and its only the first 13 episodes. its like its trying to compete with stuff like Bleach and Naruto's scale, despite the fact that its only beginning right now. The Regeal Mammoth is fucking huge and I can't imagine what the hell the next story arc is going to focus on.

My favorite parts of Toriko so far are the GT robots, Battle Wolf and Sonny's little sister. I think that the show is hinting that she wants to bang Toriko, by the way she talks about him in her monologues. After seeing what Toriko's charge up for his 5 spike punch did to his arm, I can't imagine what the hell could happen to his penis. The Battle wolf is interesting, and I want to understand the specifics of his instincts and what his gripe is with the black GT robot.

The giant pink GT robot was badass, and I want to draw that. I love the explanation on how Coco defeated it, a little too complicated, but it was a really cool fight.

Six episodes into Vanguard..I think I can officially call this my guilty pleasure show. As stated before I don't know what it is about the anime that I find so enjoyable to watch…well I guess the fact that loosing a god damned card game isn't the end of the world has something to do with it.

HOTD 2. I love the way they can cause a sense of real chaos and panic, by concentrating on a localised area. That sense of pure hopelessness and terror as the enemy is everyone, everywhere. Although that might just be a cost saving measure... The show is surprisingly dark as well, with the way it introduces just enough of the victims for a painful kick in the gut, as they are quickly eaten.

I also like that we have a fairly localised set of characters, and the show explores the interesting ways they deal with the pressure and stress. Hirano especially is just awesome, but so is Takashi. God the girls in this show are so annoying though, well everyone but that Bushido chick who is awesome.

And they still left enough room in there to explore the zombies themselves, deducing that they largely react to body heat and most importantly - sound, they themselves cannot see or feel.

The action also remains surprisingly epic, I loved seeing everyone converge on the same spot and bust out their moves. It manages to be very violent, very dark and very emotionally poignant in one moment, then the next it throws it to the wind and just goes nuts with the crazy awesome.

Glad to hear you liked it! :D For me personally, the first episode was possibly the hardest to sit through... but if you can make it through that I'm sure you'll be fine with the rest! :lol

Maybe I should be clarify on what I meant by "hard to sit through". I didn't find the episode bad, quite the opposite actually I thought it was awesome. What I meant was that what was happening in the episode was rather unsettling and hard to watch at times.

The show itself is no stranger to fan-service but the OVA took it to crazy, ridiculous levels. With no second series, it would have been nice if they had used the OVA to wrap a few things up, like an epilogue really.

Yeah. Even with the heavy levels of fanservice the actual plot was always there, but the OVA just turned into this awkward mess where they threw plot out the window and focused on the fanservice because (presumably) it could get away with more.

*sigh* but instead, we got a mindless beach episode that borderline hentai... great.

Oh I see what you mean! Yeah I love that so far the show has been able to switch tones very easily, and naturally, balancing moments of fist pumping thrills with darker, maturer moments that highlight the sickening reality of the situation and the violence.

Okay, glad I cleared that up. :D

To avoid spoilers all I'm going to say is keep on watching, it's going to be fun fun fu... It's going to be great. :D

Started to get back in card fight vanguard from episode 19 cause I was near the 20 when I took A break on episode 26 now and I love this show

On episode 10 of Vanguard right now. I find Aichi pretty endearing but his obsession with Kai makes me wanna shout "Oh just marry the dude already!" :lol

Started Deadman Wonderland. I'm both confused and disturbed after just one episode.

The manga was pretty great, back in the days when I used to read it. What I do remember though is the manga took AGES to really be about what the series is really about, and what it is really about is a lot more generic and a lot less interesting than what it originally presents itself as.

Just finished Kanon... I didn't cry at the ending just so you know.

I really enjoyed this series. It was funny, and rather touching at times. Though to be honest I found that when it came time for it to hit me over the head with the metaphorically baseball bat that the impact didn't hit me nearly as hard as Air did... that being not at all. :lol

So then, I guess the time has finally come... onward, to Clannad and Clannad After Story!
