No thanks. I'm hoping for Rinko to be the secondary. It'd be an awesome change of pace if we could get a female secondary rider. And i love her :) Shunpei is tolerable enough but I'd really rather a goofball like him not be a rider.

I'm fine with Rinko becoming a Rider, but it's really if the character permits, not because "We need more girls."

I hope Rinko WON'T become a Rider...it won't end well for her, if past female riders are any indication.

Oh no. Oh god, no. That would be the worst thing ever. I'd take doughnut tranny as the secondary Rider over another Gai Ikari.

I'd like that more, but it'll never happen. I recently heard an explanation for why there are so few female Riders and it made the whole thing click with me, to the point where I doubt we'll ever see one as a regular on a show. Kamen Rider is, first and foremost, a merchandise-driven show for little boys. One of the biggest aspects of the merchandising is the roleplay belts and weapons. How many little boys in Japan are going to buy a roleplay belt that would turn them into a girl character?

I think I get what the PlaMonster's "sprue mode" is for. It seemed like it was used to recharge Garuda? Like one of those cordless mobile device chargers except the device has to be disassembled for some reason? :lol
So does Kamen Rider Gandalf only give a someone a belt if they're a gate, and they survived their phantom trying to take over, AND they did it without a ring? I hope not. The ideal Rider cast for me would be Wizard, who ever Rinko might be(and please don't kill her off like the first three times...), and whoever Shunpei might be, with Gandalf showing up every now and then to remind you to buy his Figuart.

It's unfortunate that we have to define what is a "boys" or "girls" toy. I'm sure there are little girls in Japan who like rider and sentai as well. But they get screwed on the role play toys in the current setup. I know that female characters, much like villains, don't sell and are hard to merchandise though. It's a shame that that puts us in situations like this. Where a female lead character in a power position is almost out of the question. It'd just be nice if franchises like this could appeal more, or would try to appeal more to young girls if they aren't willing to make their products broad enough to appeal to both demographics simultaneously.

It's called conformity, and Japan is a country all about it :p

I really enjoyed this episode. It seems like this show will be a lot more action packed than the previous rider shows i have watched. It just seems like these first two episodes have not put much into character development but rather the action sequences which i am enjoying thoroughly. I do hope to see more focus on character development in the future because to much action could be detrimental in the long run. I am also looking forward to see what kind of role the white wizard will play in the future of the show.
All i have last to say is the big hand was epic!
