With Thor: The Dark World expanding on the Asgardian mythology, I can hardly wait! |

Considering the ARE Marvel Studios they took quite a few liberties with the stories and characters. |

Straightest to which story and version of the character? The whole thing played out like someone read the first issue of the Ultimates and a back issue of Captain America from the 40s and kinda mashed it together. I enjoyed the film but from an adaptation stand point I found it a mess. |
Yes the film combined elements or the original and Ultimate origins, but both of those are still pretty similar and combined still tell the same story.
Thor on the other hand dropped the origin of either version of the character apart from having to go to Earth. He didn't have to live life as a crippled doctor or a psychiatric nurse, or even have to attempt living a double life. Like I said I'm not denying it worked for the film, but I wouldn't call it straight. |

They largely focused on Kirby's general insanity really, with a few changes made here and there. |
I honestly liked Thor. It wasn't the best out of the Avenger movies, but it wasn't horrible.
