I think the arguement is that Kamen Rider is less overt in it's toy-selly-ness. However this is hit and miss.

I think it lost that claim when Rider's started getting like over nine thousand upgrades.

Is the Urobuchi writing rumor still out there? If so, all I can say is don't let the looks of the Riders deceive you. That story is going to be way stranger that it looks from the outside.

The Sengoku Driver just brings a smile to my face.

I love the driver.I keep trying to figure it out and find out more and more about it.

Ok,how I think it works is the thing that plugs into the left side of the driver (best shown on the grape picture) ID's the user and gives them their unarmored form.The locks give them their armor.On the side of the locks are a series of tabs.Im thinking they work in tandom with the side card thats plugged in.

So say the side card is Gaimu.You use a lock the belt says "Lock On!",then when you henshin it'll say "Gaimu _____ Form" or something along those lines.

That's assuming Toei let's Urobuchi write things his way.

Even if they leash him a bit, there is no way they can control him completely. Some insanity will leak through.

Toei can fire him and have Inoue write it if he doesn't do something they like. Then it'll be another train wreck of a show.

So...transforming Watermelon samurai mecha. Who else thinks that's silly, but awesome?

I don't think they'd hire him if they didn't want some of his more insane sensibilities. I think whatever comes out, it's going to be a fun ride with this one. I mean, we already have the "corporate controlled cities" bit. That seems telltale Urobuchi crazy to me. No way that doesn't go somewhere.

And, yes, everything about Gaimu designs so far seem silly and awesome. Love that they're big and armored this time. I like the previous riders, but it's time for something new. We've had enough sleek and fast for a little while.
