Glad I got my DX Gokai-Oh. The US version looks awful by comparison.

Yeah, it's one of the little improvements. If it has the retracting plank, that's actually a pretty good improvement.

Like Sentai said on page one,it's the affordable one,and honestly for it being America's version it's not to bad.We keep setting bench marks by comparing them to the originals,when Bandai has the ability to actually shrink down the megazord and make it affordable.Not only that,but give exclusive combinations to the american one.

With a little touch up paint,it would be the perfect Megazord.Heck,I'd buy it and keep it just as is.(You have to admit,they have gotten better with their designs and paint)

I'm thankful we're at least getting Gokaiger-ish toys locally.

I get the downsizing and intigration of the gimmick. I just don't think it is as good as gokai-oh as a representation of the show. but then again it's for kids, not collectors who know of differant "better" versions. In the end, for me at least, how about Gokai-No.

I think that's why they brought over Shinken-oh after releasing the Samurai Megazord.It shows Bandai knows there are different groups,and they know that collectors wont like the version they release.

But so is Super Sentai? They have the same target audience. I think the argument is that the Power Rangers are aimed and sold for lots cheaper and therefore have to be worse, which is fair enough, but they're not any more for kids then the Super Sentai ones are.

Yeah, it looks crap, but I was expecting that, so I'm not surprised. Its not a little disappointment like the Legendary Morpher, its about what I expected. I'm happy with Gokaioh, he's a big beautiful and super fun mecha and my absolute favourite along with Magiking, so I wont pick this up like I did for the last two main Megazords to go along with the SS mecha counterparts. But to be perfectly honest, outside of the paint, the figure doesn't look bad by itself, but when you couple how badly the gimmicks have been handled and the size, then the whole package becomes pretty terrible.

I can't disagree with that enough. The most jarring of them (the center door) is still there and having open doors (I don't understand how they're poorly designed at all, they're doors that open, what do you expect?) on a mecha that 's entire point is that it opens up is far, far better then having big bulky pieces just awkwardly sticking on top of what the show has them inside of.

A little bit of a paint touch-up, and this shall do quite nicely for me especially as I'm far from being in the mood to care about hunting down the individual Gokai add-ons on the aftermarket.

Also, no OhRanger add-on in Japan. Makes me wonder if we'll be seeing other U.S. exclusive add-ons or retools of existing creations (If you look close enough, you can kinda see that the Zeo Car thing is a retool of the SPD Car, and I could honestly care less that it is, because it's a insane idea and homage.)

True, don't forget we can't import the Sentai toys directly anymore and even if we could (ie Nick and Tzachor stop ruining everything and try bargaining with Toei to let us catch up with SS somehow), there is no way in hell our current economic climate would allow that.

Gosei Ultimate would be damn near impossible to sell considering no parent is going to buy little Jimmy a $100 toy after buying him a $60 Gosei Great.
