Nothing and thats the point. The Production team didnt want to be limited by a unifying theme when designing the mecha so they just did whatever they wanted.

And man that power-up form looks totally like a metal hero :lol

Wasn't a fan of the first mecha or Sixth's, but this... this reminds me of something out of Samurai Pizza Cats. Even the Lion face in upright formation reminds me of that dog character from SPC.
