Loved Kakuranger so I am very pleased to see this news. Hopefully, they will do Ohranger as well but I don't want to get my hopes up. Really, the only thing I would like better for me than the series they have done thus far would be Jetman or some of the older Showa Era shows.
|
I've only watched the first few episodes of Kakuranger, so now I'll gladly hold out for the official version! I'm glad that Shout! seems committed to releasing more of these.

Awesome news! Kakuranger's a great show. I'm glad these sets are seemingly popular enough for Shout to keep going with them. They finally got the cover for these to look good as well, 3rd time's the charm I guess.

I know it is a pipe dream, but I wish they were able to do a series every quarter. If they did 4 series a year they would catch up in about five years time to where Japan is right now. 2016: Kaku and OH 2017: Car, Mega, Ginga, GoGoV 2018: Time, Gao, Hurri, Aba 2019: Deka, Magi, Bouken, Geki 2020: Go-On, Shinken, Gosei, Gokai 2021: Go-Bus, Kyoryu, ToQ, Nin Of course, that would mean they would be ignoring the older shows and I'd rather they did Jetman and Liveman before most of the stuff after Aba. |
Really stoked on this, but I should probably grab Zyu and Dai first haha.
I'm hoping they do Jetman next. Between saying they're interested in pre-zyu seasons, finishing the nostalgia-soaked MMPR series, Zeo not being too terribly popular, Ohranger almost killing Sentai, and Jetman being one of the most popular series (especially pre-zyu) I could easily see them going that route. The main series I'm hoping we get at least are Gokaiger, Deka Ranger and Kyoryuger. I also hope if this proves successful enough and they're able to comfortably keep doing the series past Kakuranger and still make decent profits that they'll look into trying to get the rights do subbing Kamen Rider at some point. |
Ohranger might have had the lowest ratings ever at that time, but it did have the highest toy sales ever, so I doubt Sentai was ever really at risk.
I personally would prefer them doing Pre-Zyu first because I enjoy older series quite a bit, but I imagine a lot of the sales for these DVDs is still Power Ranger fans finally deciding to try out the Sentai version. |
