Okay, watched the raw and I'm seeing a lot of promise. There was some goofy comedy, but it seemed more isolated than Drive or Ghost and there is no character that even remotely reminds me of Onari. The show seems to largely be taking itself seriously and I'm curious to see where it's going.

That said, the ending was a huge WTF moment for me when the girl got sucked into the arcade machine and turned into Smart Lady 2.0. Really not sure what the hell to make of that.

Basically. If Heat really doesn't want to translate the show, he isn't going to translate it. I'd imagine it'd be hard to strong-arm him into doing them when he doesn't want to.

Nitpick: He was the editor for Drive, and about 2/3rds of Ghost, before personal issues took over. But yeah, dude has said he's done with weeklies.

I think the situation there was that both Over-Time and Aesir had separate draft scripts going on, and when O-T found out, they decided "Eh, lets not have a repeat of what went on with Fourze". Which, considering Heat doesn't seem to like very Gaim very much, was probably for the better.
Hopefully Excite'll be good. Guess we just have to wait and see. Though seeing as they're a new group, hopefully people will cut them some slack if their first release isn't absolutely perfect. Takes time to get into the groove of it.

Definitely - doing this stuff isn't instant and can be pretty stressful (I had to do transcriptions of field interviews for documentaries, so I know that simple transcription can be rough), not to mention having to weigh out exactly how to translate things... unless this group are just butchering the material, let's show them some vocal gratitude!

Well that was mercifully fast.

Not bad! Enjoyed the first episode and am pleased with their subs. Only saw one error towards the end. I honestly hope these guys make it through the year.

Well that was different. It's obviously hard to get a definite opinion after one episode but yeah this seems like it'll be a fun year. The style is a bit more Gaim and a bit less early-Heisei than I was expecting but it makes sense the show about video games wants to be a little loud.

And these Excite! guys are okay I guess. That font is subtly hideous but I don't think they translated anything wrong and that's the important part. I feel like some things were written in a slightly clunky way but that's nitpicking.
