So did Golden Compass and Pacific Rim as well. I do think PR will probably make back it's budget in the US. There was a decent amount of kids in the theater when I saw the movie. So I hope they like the movie enough to buy the toys.

Someone explain to me how making money with movies work.
I've heard that breaking even is considered a flop. I've heard that making double is basically considered breaking even. I've heard that making double is the only way to turn a profit.

So with a $100 million budget, what does $59.2 million mean to Lionsgate?

I really just don't understand because I can get like, 10 different answers to how much a movie needs to make to turn a profit...
