I think the plastic quality is questionable. There is a review for it on BensCollectables channel. Though I am not sure if its the same as the one he reviewed or not.

This promotion company has posted a lot of nonsenses on social network for weeks, they clearly know nothing about the content.

I dunno, they might think these posters appeal to Chinese people, but no one really buy that. Maybe even a 90s' poster would'v draw more nostalgic attentions.

Apparentely the movie bombed in China so badly the planned sequel is now canceled. That's bullshit that they were relying on China for an American property. It was the top grossing movie opening weekend here in the US and that is what matters most.

And dropped hard the second weekend. It didn't even make it's budget back in the US.

To be honest, this is why movie studios need to stop throwing all kinds of money into a movie and then being shocked when they don't make their budget back. Aliens was made on a $36 million budget and it was all practical effects and is still hands down one of the best looking movies of all time. Even with inflation, it would probably have been no more than $85 million. That is half of what these studios today are putting in today with using fake effects done by a computer.

There seems enough of a demand for a sequel amongst the fans that I think one might get made anyway.

Maybe not in the same form as the last one, I mean they could always do it as a straight to DVD release or Netflix exclusive.

Because that's how you make a fucking profit.

There's way, way more competition these days. Movies have to make it big, or they don't make it at all. The gormless scads of average movie goers don't appreciate much beyond the big, dumb and blunt. And funnily enough, being big dumb and blunt isn't cheap.

It's what the industry is these days, and plenty of movies manage to survive and thrive.

Maybe, *garsp*, the movie just wasn't all that great and didn't click with the audiences it wanted to?

So....there's no sequel anymore? What a disappointment.

Or they could just make the movie good?

There's a reason why we still talk about movies like Double Indemnity, Touch of Evil, The Maltese Falcon, Bride of Frankenstein, Alien, Aliens, Jaws, A Clockwork Orange, The Thing, etc, these days.

If they focused on writing a good movie first, and then worried about the effects second, people would go see it.
