New Trailer
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zjju4AaHxnA |
The transformation is likely shortened for this PV.
Gosh, I really hope it doesn't take up 2 minutes (1 for each Ultra)..... |
For those still not informed Katsumi/Rosso is the big bro who helps out at their dad's fashion boutique, baby bro Isami/Blu is a college kid. Gosh their transformation clip is begging for a Rodimus Prime reference meme. :lolol

Looks fun!

Then it kind of dawned on me anyway. Speedbreaker was a cool blue hot rod anyway. xD Kind of really digging it. The transformers jokes make it all the more fun. Now it still needs a "Sponsored by Red Bull" commercial though! Fits too since they take on monster(s) all the time too! xD |
Pretty bad trailer, nothing really exciting to see here. Just more toy-advertising. And I'm getting quite sick of the "power of past Ultraman as transformation trinkets"-trope, make something new already.

So.....If I wanted to get into Ultra man this wouldn't be the show.
Sounds like Orb would be a better choice, is that right or is there a better season ? |

Personally, I'd recommend Nexus and the Movie Ultraman Next to get a basic understanding of the concept. But those are non-ultra universe tied. When you're ready to dive into ultra family stuff, then it gets tougher. Orb, Geed, R/B, really even Zero and X are all heavy Ultra Universe stuff with some practical basic knowledge of ultraman kind of needed. Though Zero does try to fill in the concept a lot to prep you for how history rich it is. While many try to educate the viewers, they kind of all spill over from each other really since about Mebius/Max and the ultra brothers movie. Earlier series were more self-contained. Ultra7X isn't bad either and has a more adult flair to it. Mebius or Max might be a good one to start. Many get started on Tiga/Dyna/Cosmo though. I'm from the era that the Australian one was my first real exposure(when they marketed the Ultraman toys to americans too and made the american comic), but TNT also had UltraSeven reruns really early in the morning too. Really kind of depends on what designs speak to you on which you want to jump into. Everything after Nexus is kind of heavily connected after about Mebius/Max. Everything before was a little more independent from each other but had some crossovers. Except for Nexus which was more isolated as a new universe thing, but is really trippy and fun but probably a little too heavy psychologically for kids. The anime version and Hanna Barbera version do a lot of exposition too to kind of fill in on the concepts. One thing about shows like Zero/X/Orb/Geed/RB, and Similar is that because they are so history focused, they do a lot of exposition to fill in the history for new viewers too. So really any of those may be good to jump into. They have to keep themselves open enough for new viewers of the franchise but also stay continuing the franchise for longtime followers. |
