I imagine the swords have a peg on the other side that allows them to be mounted at the hip as if it was sheathed.

That is a good question. The DX version is a much larger scale than your average lego block. The Minipla version is the opposite. Those are much smaller than your run of mil lego. Final analysis not lego functional.
